The pace of verification seems to have picked up greatly in the last few days.

My verification took at least a week and that before the latest influx.

Tip: Set up your WITHDRAWAL methods as soon as you are able. There is an additional 'validation' period for each withdrawal option...and it has been three days so far for me. Support says 5 day turn around.

It took me 7 days from account creation to confirmation back in February. I sent a picture of a US passport photo. I don't know if that matters versus a state issued driver's license.

Alot of players (buyers) buy because of the prospect of a higher price. Not because they have any solid info to go on.
Like, "Its been on 250 and so it can again.

Thats all thats needed, really.

I can't understand how BTC could rocket when Colbert mentions it...considering that it takes FOREVER to get verified anywhere to be able to move money into an exchange.

Just regarding sending BTC to Mt.Gox, how long does it normally take to confirm so the coins show up in the finances?

Yeah, im at 23200, sent my files yesterday Sad

Wow. Insane amount of verification waiting-line. It was "only" 3700 back when i registered a weeks ago. I guess that indicates the fame of bitcoin ain't dead just yet then! Go home mainstream media like CNBC, Fox or whatever; you can talk as much lies you want about our beloved bitcoins, but it ain't gonna stop the world from adopting it! Grin

To anyone who isn't aware, you can trade on Mt.Gox without being verified. Not being verified will limit your deposit and withdraw options, but you can still get money in and out while waiting for verification. BitInstant (CVS->MtGox) allows you to deposit with cash via Moneygram, and you can always send your MtGox bitcoins to another exchange or FastCash4Bitcoins.com if you want to trade them for something else or cash out.

Do your research before sending your bitcoins anywhere. I haven't used FastCash4Bitcoins.com yet but from the little I've read so far it might be something I look more into in the future.

I will be sending from my wallet if that helps. Should I attach a transaction fee to it too?

I'm waiting for 7 days now and I've only dropped like 9000 spots, from 25500 to 16400 =/, I guess it'll take another week perhaps..
