Mm, but now it doesn't look right in English either. It's not aligned with anything.

Hi Mike,

Yeah it is due to the localisation of the 'Balance' and 'Available to spend' text. Having the coin bumped it over to the right and for languages with long text like Russian it just did not look right.

I just noticed the coins image has gone from the top left - is that intentional? The balance label looks a bit out of place now, it sort of hovers in space.

The new site looks great!

Thanks - there is a bit of finishing off to do but we will probably make it the live version in a few days.

A virus named like "WS.reputation.1" just means that it doesn't actually match against a database of known viruses, but the binary triggered some heuristic and not many people have it installed. That makes sense - it's probably detected the fact that it's unsigned and very new. Once Jim starts signing it and more people are running MultiBit on Windows, that kind of thing should go away.

I just tried to download 0.5.9 and it was rejected by Norton anti virus.
The threat was named  "WS.reputation.1"

Anybody else encountered this issue?

There is a bit more to do on the Windows front yes.
I am waiting for a 'identity checked' code signing certificate that means I can sign the binaries (Microsoft authenticode). This should get rid of some of the security related messages on install.

(I'll probably be asking for testers for that as I on'y have an ancient Windows XP VM to test with).

RE: the popup menus. The only popup menu is in the Transactions tab and I plan to remove that and put it as a button (in the next round of UI work). This is mainly because of tablets - for a touch sensitive screen 'right clicks' have effectively disappeared.

The Mt Gox ticker has been unreliable in the last few days yes - I think this is because of the DDOS they have been suffering from. The main reason to have alternate exchanges available was to avoid them being a single point of failure. I normally use OpenExchangeRates now, though it is only updated hourly.

@bitcoinspot.nl : Thanks for the recommendations !

We have a new website in the works (available most of the time at http://test.multibit.org ) which will have more information for the general user.

0.5.9 win8 64bit

Got this on installation. Seems to have worked nonetheless. Did not bother to uninstall 0.5.8 before :]

Registry Key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\bitcoin could not be opened.
Operating system error number: 5
Operating system error text: Access denied

edit: thanks for the great work

edit2: is it normal that there are no copy/paste popup menus? That is a little odd.

edit3: gox prices do not show. the other exchanges work fine.

Exactly the same here.
win8 / 64bits

Great that wallets are now encrypted!
i am now recommending all my visitors to use multibit Smiley

Hi CalicoChris,

The MultiBit code is installed/ stored separately to where your wallets are stored.
(Unless you did something fancy when you installed it).

For windows you should be able to simply install the new version of Multibit using the installer and accept the defaults.
Then when you open the new version your wallet will be there.

The installation instructions are are: https://multibit.org/help.html

I have the multibit client 0.4.23.  Backups good and private key in safe place.  I have only one bitcoin wallet on there.
I'd like to upgrade to the new wallet, but cannot seem to find specific upgrade instructions for windows anywhere.  Don't wanna mess up, 'cause I probably cannot fix up.  Kindly show me toward upgrade instructions, or I am a quick study - and just tell me how you've upgraded.
Thanks.

This was a bug to do with parsing of the transaction fee when you have a locale that uses a ',' as the decimal separator.
It is fixed in release 0.5.9 (https://multibit.org/releases.html).

You can just set the transaction fee in the Preferences tab. Press 'Apply changes' to save the new amount.

The transaction fee goes to the miner who mines your transaction, not multibit.org.

At the moment you can sort by any of the individual columns eg by Description but that isn't quite what you were asking.

@jim

I am not sure someone did not post it already, but I'll give it a try.

In Transactions tab I have lots of transactions and I would like to suggest implementing a possibility to sort transactions by the address(somewhat like in official client I think). I have few addresses through which I receive BTC regularly. I hope this would help me get the better idea of the coin flow.

The Netherlands is regularly either at the top or number 2 of my list of 'downloads by country'.

The Dutch have been traders for 500 years so not surprising they are early adopters.
