They excvhanged 111 merits back and forth :
Actually, it's 93, not 111.

yes true
I got it right in my french post here : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.49389984

But then, i got confused With your sentence "Update: jackg suggested to add Merit received (in green) and sent (in red) to put things into perspective."

But indeed, still 93 is huge number. And they definitely exchanged those merits  for the bad reasons

Hello,

I want to expose the ties between two accounts, Coin++ and CarlOrff.

CarlOrff made the mistake to say "I said" referring to a post written by Coin++.

This has been captured by myself here : http://archive.is/IRrYI

@halab, french staff member, or maybe @actmyname who also understands french as far as I can remember should be able to confirm this.

He deleted his post following my statement.

You can also see they have been exchanging roughly 100 merit.

And you know what, CarOff and Coin++ are the champion on Loycev latest ranking :
They excvhanged 111 93 merits back and forth :

Link to topic :
Merit Backscratchers: who scratched who's back the most?

Merit Backscratchers
    1. 93 Merit: Coin++ 192/111 (history) <> CarlOrff 189/112 (history)

edit : quantity exchanged is 93 and not 111

What worries me is the reason of your post here.

If you want to discuss the motivation of cheaters you can do that in off topic, or at least without quoting whole posts like this which turn threads into unreadable garbage.

So why would anyone do this:
-bounty campaigns
-selling accounts

This is an amazing investigative report you did here. It is very clear that the accounts are related. But why cheat with merit abuse and cheating on signature campaigns? It is worrisome that senior accounts are the ones doing this.

Right.
I believe it is a mistake and should be "merit" exchanging in the title.

There is a clear merit misuse linking the two accounts reported by OP.
Both accounts should be tagged for merit abuse.

What is certain is that at least one person is using the French local subforum to farm and sell accounts.
It is easy to do there since there is only a limited set of people watching this board.
(90% positive this is this guy farming accts in French subforum : https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/accounttrade-2408858 )

I'm not even sure how this is open for debate. He said himself that he posted the other post.

Either he forgot to switch accounts, or me provoking him made him forget to act like he was someone else Cheesy

CarlOrff answered other members clearly like he was Coin++.

Maybe you can just confirm that here

Quote
J'ai pris un fait divers d'actualité pour illustrer une réalité.

He clearly states "I said this to make a point" referring to Coin++'s post.

Also he immediately (within 5min) deleted his post.
Not only this. As I said before, the whole post is an answer from Coin++ to the other members but posted by CarlOrff, which rises many questions. I am pretty sure that after the deletion he may post it again by Coin++ account.

Now look at this :
18 August 2018, 09:28:58: 5 to CarlOrff for Re: Question sur l'un des enjeux du Bitcoin
18 August 2018, 09:28:03: 5 to CarlOrff for Re: Impots et minage
18 August 2018, 09:27:11: 5 to CarlOrff for Re: Impots et minage
18 August 2018, 09:26:57: 5 to CarlOrff for Re: Question sur l'un des enjeux du Bitcoin

Wonder know how fast is he in reading long texts and understanding it... I am pretty sure they are the same dude and sending 5 merits then adding after few minutes another 5 for the same post rises more suspicions...

I think the major issue here is the merit exchange between the both parties(accounts),some users on this forum make posts with alts, and end up commenting on the very post they made, I've seen it once or twice...
If this is proven(merit abuse), at most a DT could leave them a red tag or so

I'd settle for a neutral rating showing that they are alts Smiley

I actually don't care that much about the multi, or even the merit exchange if both accounts contribute.

What I don't appreciate is the talking to himself with his both accounts for the sole purpose to exchange merits. This to me is spam and is worse than just merit farming.

For those who don't understand French :
CarlOrff started his topic talking about expatriation and cryptocurrency taxes in France.
Then Coin++ gave the example of adolescents (minor) threatening their teachers and hospital refusing to take care of patients not already examined by their general practitioner.
Well, Coin++'s post/examples doesn't seem to be accepted by other members so CarlOrff made a reply saying that some people found his words disturbing and started explaining why schools are insecure, medical system, taxes, politics.

Well, i find that those "two" members have the same writing style based on this topic alone (won't bother checking all their previous posts nor merit history). Besides, CarlOrff answered other members clearly like he was Coin++.
This case should be checked deeply.

You are right about the merit exchange. Fact is they have exchange the most merits one with the other.
