Russia wins. They get their no-fly zone without any objection at all from anyone, a great strategic advantage in this war. It´s at relatively low cost. It´s not good to lose a plane and pilot but that´s war. You take losses.

The S-400 is in the possession of the Russian troops, who are stationed in Northwestern Syria. So far, it hasn't been transferred to the Syrian troops. Also, I don't think that the Syrian soldiers have the sufficient training and technical skills to operate the S-400 Triumf system, which is a very complex piece of equipment.

No. You are wrong. Erdogan has made it clear that he will not apologize for the shooting down of the Russian fighter jet. He has "expressed his regret", but as of now he has refused to apologize to the Russian government. And now it is too late for any sort of reconciliation. Turkey will lose its tourists from Russia and the Turks will freeze in the winter without Russian gas.

The Kurds in Syria and Iraq will turn out to be the real winners in this situation. After the Russians brought the S-400 Triumf (SA-21 Growler) systems to Syria, the Turks stopped invading the Turkish air-space to bomb the Kurdish positions. In my opinion, the Russians should place one or two S-400 systems in Kirkuk and Erbil as well.
