@OP - You are not restricted to only post in this thread as you were not banned because you broke any rule, but rather were banned as a security precaution.

I would think that someone who is showing they will not be active in the forum will not be a high priority for the administration as they would be putting in effort into researching if you are in fact the "true" owner of your account and would not receive an active member of the forum in return.

I would say that the fact that you are only posting in this thread implies that you will not be very active in the event that you get your account back.

I am less certain about this, however your posting does look a little bit like you might be farming accounts, although you are not making the ultra low quality posts that some farmers make. If this is the case then the priority of your issue will likely be even less.

Please stop bumping your thread so frequently. What makes matters worse is that you actually made several off-topic posts in your thread where you request a removal of your ban.

Thank you for comforting me, and I know it is not easy looking behind someone you really don't know.
Especially in a forum like [Suspicious link removed] sadly became famous for.
If you are a god loving person you should really stay away from this forum.
This is what I really am able to tell after only 8 weeks or so.
Not because people like you, or BTC itself, but the dubious and unfriendly frame.
Next what happens is that im going to annoy the administrator somehow, and have contract killer set on me.
So, I don't give anything being in this forum really, maybe the signature was promising,
but not after having this kind of set up.
Wishing you guys the best luck.

oh btw, you can delete both nicks, as I don't want anyone the hack them, and further posting here.
Thanks.

You know there is a very thin line between off-topic and on-topic sometimes. I had an account banned for seven days for making unsubstantial posts. But then I find it difficult to define what is substantial and what is not, I do not spam, so I tend to tread carefully now. Don't want to get banned again Sad

I think I would never order a pizza here at bitcointalk.org. that would be severe...

It's a slow process the people with power to do what you need are very few, and are busy people.  So it can cause a long time to get it all fixed up, it was not a joke above about process being slow.

But I would ask/email about every two weeks.  Which you appear to be doing, so now it's just a waiting game.  No need to daily bump though as it will not help it be any faster.

Just be patient. These things take time. They might be speed up on the new forum (in the future), but that is not a certainty yet. I'll ping theymos since a lot of time has passed since your request.

thank you.

how long does it normally take?
I'm waiting for over a week now...

can take anywhere from a day to over a year. no I'm quite serious. some users have waited for months.
send an email again if you don't get any replies in 2 weeks. and I think being patient helps.

Also with it being a known thing I think it's lower on the list.   I wish everyone knew not to use secret questions.  If you read meta it happens much less then it use to .... but sadly people still use it and it does lock it.

But there is not standard time.    You have very busy people who have to verify/investigate and its a slow process.   I would agree on being patient and not bugging them.  I think if you send email every few weeks if your best shot.   If you sent to often.... just kinda seems like might get on their nerves.   But it really could be a long while til you get it back.

I suggest starting another account in mean time.  The good news is it's not a ban but a lock so you can have a new account.  But I know that will not make up for one your waiting for.

I did use bitcoin core 0.11.2.

the unedited post is here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.3440
Page 173 as KiwiParty

Now it did fail to verfy even on my own wallet.

Here is the new on with Bitcoin core 0.11.2

Code:
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
This is KiwiParty from bitcoin.org and today is 2016.03.15. It is 01:11 pm.

-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

I double checked it. Says Message verified in green letters.

PS:
At the end of the message you'll have to do a 'return', so the cursor will be in the next line.

Here is the one without the lf/cr.
Code:

-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

If a return is part of the message you need to post it as part of the message, every symbol is important.

1st verifies with a trailing linebreak, 2nd verifies.

The address is 4 days old, but as your account was locked and not hacked, send theymos a PM and/or mail.

Failed to verify with electrum 2.6.2

You also need to provide an unedited post for the address, preferably old.

It was because you attempted to reset your password via your security question.

You should sign a message from an address associated with your account and answer any questions that BadBear (who whichever moderator asks) about your account and you should hopefully be able to recover it.

ups! How do I do that? "sign a message"?

I am able to send from my email I have associated with this account, and I still know my security questions answer.
Also the BTC address linked is mine.

Is there any format I should use?

You can take a look at this thread to get more information as to how to sign a message. Your message should be in this format.

Your account locked because you used security question to reset password, last year in may when some of security question details were stolen by hackers theymos disabled this option to recover password using security question, it has been discussed many times before.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/psa-accounts-will-be-locked-if-the-secret-question-is-used-to-recover-it-1206977

Using the email recovery gives me this message.

Sorry, this account has not yet been approved. If you need to change your email address please click here.

there has been no validation email feature. I would have used it.

Hello @ll,

my account KiwiParty has been banned.
This happened after I tried to relogin, and the passwords have been wiped with ccleaner.
I couldnt remember the right one, and it locked me.
Then I used the secret question feature to reset my password, but it won't let me in.

Everytime I try to login, I get this message:
An Error Has Occurred!
Sorry KiwiParty, you are banned from using this forum!
For security, your account has been locked. Email [email protected]

Is this account banned due my failed login attempts, or due any posts I did??
I have no clue. Please help. Thank you.

How do I gain access again?
