Usually newcomers to the forum make the same mistake.

They come here to ask questions because there are things they don't know or don't understand and instead of searching they start new topics about things that were discussed over and over in many other topics made by other people. Then their topics get deleted and they feel frustrated that the forum doesn't allow them to ask anything and is harsh to newbies.

As anew person try to do some research on existing topics first and you'll do better than 90% of people who come here.

I've recommend keeping this thread handy whenever you run into an issue or aren't quite sure on something. Other than that, you can send a message to me if you truly are stuck on something, as long as its not a obvious question, which has already been answered in the above thread I'll likely get back to you.

Although, do try to use a search engine or the built in forum search function to find anything you aren't up to scratch on. I wouldn't say the forum is highly moderated though, a lot of things that get posted here would likely be deleted elsewhere. We focus on filtering out the spam, but we tend to keep to the principles of allowing free speech etc.

Having deleted post is one thing that is common amongst most beginners and many users in this forum. Even as a ranked up member, you could still get deleted posts. Either due to your own mistakes or having a reply for a topic deleted alongside the topic and It isn't a bad thing, really. It just means you posted something off or out of its place or you just happened to have posted something that doesn't make sense but its okay as it helps to bring out the best in you.

Well, there's always room for improvement in every learning process and as such, everyone didn't just jump from novice to pro without having some deleted contents and actually putting in work. Your welcome to try and better your way in the forum. Like the previous user said, its not just about posting, you reading and building your knowledge about bitcoin and the forum is of the essence.

I've tried making a few posts before hand and a few got missing or deleted, I don't know. As much as it discouraged me, it also pointed out the fact that, the forum is highlymoderated and I ain't getting something right and I want to get it right.

You don't need to make posts to learn from this forum, the most basic questions have been asked hundreds of times, so the first thing you need to do is to learn how to use the search function. You should post when you feel like you're contributing to the discussion, not just to increase your post count. Because of the merit system, chasing activity is pointless if you're not going to earn even a single merit.

Challenge

Hi, greetings to all you great people and crypto enthusiast

I've been here a few days now, created my account on 1st of April (April fool's day, lol) as remarkable as this day, I hope to change the notion on my account as, the day I became wise and futuristic with bitcoin. Sadly, the forum isn't making it any easier. I guess that's how things are around here and I'm so much not loving the experience but then, I see it as a challenge that I must overcome. I've come to realise that there is only one way I can do that (becoming like you guys, the experts) and that is, doing things in the ways of the forum. This is my question of wonder for now. I've had some orientation but, I feel I still need more.

I've tried making a few posts before hand and a few got missing or deleted, I don't know. As much as it discouraged me, it also pointed out the fact that, the forum is highlymoderated and I ain't getting something right and I want to get it right.

The forum is far from nothing easy, especially with my level in the forum now where I'm still trying to adjust frm my regular way doing things and my previous knowledge of bitcoin. Trying to start a fresh and all I want now is for you guys to guide me on my way to becoming pro and in time, I'll be a guide and a motivator of the forum and for bitcoin. Let's go pro and make bitcoin global.

Thanks.
Welcome to Bitcointalk forum firstly, before you start to complain about the forum , I want to ask if you have read the rules guiding these forum first because for every section the are particular rule guiding it and ur posts might have been deleted because you broke some or all the rules in that section of the forum.so I would advice you to read the rules and as some higher member would say watch and read more before posting , again welcome

You are on Bitcoin forum, why are you posting in threads about vacations, the charm of women, and the afterlife? Those kind of discussions and everything else that happens in the off-topic sub has nothing to do with cryptocurrencies. Switch your attention to boards where users are engaged in more quality discussions. Beginners & Help is a good start, but this forum offers much more than that. More of your posts could get deleted if someone decides to take a closer look at why vacations are good and what benefits they offer to the people Wink

all the pro on this forum come from zero knowledge of Bitcoin, but they don't give up and continue to add to their knowledge about Bitcoin, blockchain technology, and also how to make quality posts.

i also still have a superficial knowledge of Bitcoin but i do not give up in order to continue to enrich my insights about things related to Bitcoin and Blockchain technology.

follow the rules set by moderators and don't make plagiarism posts is the safest way to keep your posts from being deleted, good luck my buddy.

The forum gives you freedom to discuss with your ideas. Your real discussions won't be censored or deleted. Only your zero value, low quality, troll, spam posts will be deleted.

If your posts are in a spam topic and if that spam topic is deleted, your posts will be deleted too and you don't receive notification. If your posts are deleted, not topics, you will receive notifications.

The forum does not challenge you. Only you are challenging the forum with low quality posts and create workload for admins, moderators to handle your posts. You have to challenge yourself to increase your post quality.

The forum has been designed to surpass other forums in a lot of ways and as such, its one that is watched closely to ensure that the contents are are both authentic and informative too. Having deleted posts is nothing new to most users, we've all been there and even up to this moment, some of us still get deleted posts but then, it shouldn't be what discourages you. It should serve as a pointer to point you to your errors and the best you can make out of it is to learn from your mistakes. Do well to identify what you did wrong and do something to that effect and gradually you'll be accustomed to the forum. Then, it would become very enjoyable.

Being a member of bitcointalk forum is a great way to engage with other passionate and enterprising cryptocurrency enthusiasts and be involved in all the open discussion platforms and discussions on Bitcoin, blockchain technology and crypto currency. You can post comments, ask questions, and forward information to other members.

But @Minajx, bear in mind that all posts should be of good quality for your reading colleagues. As a result, the quality of your posting, along with a proper understanding of the rules, will help you to uphold the forum's standards and make your stay enjoyable.

This is not to say that everyone in the forum adheres to this policy, but that they are strongly encouraged to do so.

What we are looking for these days are no other than quality threads and replies. As for the OP's case, well I think he deserves his short and low quality posts getting deleted. If you really want your posts not to get deleted OP, post something high quality, helpful tips and advice, or in great value that would benefit the whole community.

I hope you have learned your lesson on this one OP. Good luck!!

I suggest refraining from posting on the off-topic board and off-topic posts/low quality, don't be discouraged just because some of your posts have been deleted because of it being low quality or off-topic. the forum is not highly moderated and you'll notice this as spend more time here in the forum. the members above me have suggested what you should do and I recommend following it as I am sure they are speaking from experience. and as for the title, I wouldn't "my battle with the forum" the more appropriate title would be "my journey with the forum".

The forum is very accommodating for all beginners. If your posts got deleted, it could be that you are violating the forum rules and regulations. And the user above have made an indication.

Before anything else, I would advise you to read and assimilate the rule rules in this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/unofficial-list-of-official-bitcointalkorg-rules-guidelines-faq-703657

Another thread that applies to this rule and a good posting is this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5280356

Minajx, from your very first post on this forum I see you are a bitcoiner-novice at its finest. Probably the best tactic for you would be  to hold off on posting and spend some time on reading. This  would help  you to avoid  both many mistakes that beginners make  and shitposter stigma. Even when you ask your questions you must consider them carefully. Intelligent questions are appreciated by the high ranking users.

I tend to agree with other posts above, always read first with those sticky threads per boards on this forum because it contents important details and information regarding forum rules.  If you're aware, you can simply avoid those possibilities of deleting posts like commonly low-quality posts.

For example here in the Beginners & Help section, there's a sticky thread you should learn first before posting.  As a newbie, I advise you to spend a week(s) of reading before starting posting, in that time frame it might you were fully aware of forum rules which also include the dos and don'ts.

Be always on the forum relevant topics and you'll always be fine.

Welcome to the Forum.

As pointed out the deleted posts are in most cases off-topic or low quality. If you look at the stickies in different boards, you will notice a common warning. "Low quality posts do not belong here"
So the deletion of your posts should not discourage you from engaging in the forum but rather encourage you to do better and make much improved posts. Most members here have had their posts deleted in the past including me.

You don’t need to worry too much about beginner mistakes, it’s perfectly normal and can happen to anyone. It seems to me that you want to become an expert very quickly and that you are looking for a magic formula for that - but it will take you a lot more time than you think at the moment.

My advice is to read everything that is relevant for beginners, especially all the sticky threads in this board and in Meta - so although there is certainly not all the wisdom you are looking for, it can certainly help you do better on the forum. The forum is not an opponent to fight with him, you just need to adapt to it and be what you are, and in time you will surely adopt some knowledge that you will be able to pass on to others.

Palagarised content will always lead to a ban from the forum, do always avoid it. Try to create original content which is relevant to the Board otherwise it will be treated as a spam and will be deleted by the moderators.

As you hold a basic rank in the forum your threads will be more moderated than others. Create topics which are guides, questions for the members or are related to issues you have faced in crypto sphere.
