it's not big deal litecoin in bitstamp

But of course its not a big deal. It would only be listed on exchange, which happens to be located on a continent with a population of 750 million.

it's not big deal litecoin in bitstamp, it's already consolidated in euro as kraken, btc-e n others, consolidated in china in a pretty strong way n now paving his way in us with USD, when bitcoin transactions got to a point of being impossible to do without huge fees litecoin will emerge because of volume n global reach, stability n trust n simplicity, most altcoin will probably be paired with ltc in the future because btc will be too fucking expensive n most altcoin will be worth 1 satoshi.

The recent rise in price of Litecoin was probably because of the news about GDAX, but in fact the price dropped after they listed it. Anyway, its too early to say, but I still believe that Litecoin has a good future and currently it can be considered as a "safe bet". In my opinion, Bitstamp would list it too, because I feel they are in need to expand their business. Maybe Litecoin won't affect their trade volume at the start, but still...

i think litecoin deserves more attention than it gets. maybe it's too boring for the psychos who run these markets. but has there ever been a documented case of a coin going to the next level and staying there after being added to a significant exchange?

it's just another place to buy and sell. what would be interesting is if coinbase integrate litecoin for their merchant services.

I think Litecoin may slowly appreciate but it will be tough going. Litecointalk has been down months now does not exactly inspire confidence. Do you know of a successful coin without an active community? There are also tons of true believers who still hold bags ready to sell into any pump.

The Fibonacci levels from recent high to low show the rungs on the ladder Litecoin must climb to be successful again and price is stuck at the lowest Fib level. Can't even get past .007. I would not risk investing until price reaches the 50% level or .008. Things would get interesting if .01 was taken out on volume. There is no rush to invest. The charts will guide us.

Damn, that sucks hard. I hope those LTC were acquired in the sub dollar, low cent value ranges? Otherwise you got screwed really bad. You have no interest in restoring some of that bag?

Not really. I can tell you the story. Smiley I started to work with a russian investor back in the late (before the pump in November) 2013 when I convinced him to buy 6 GPU's and we started to mine Litecoin (about 1.5 LTC/day). Then I saw Fedora (TIPS) and I thought it will have a very good future. I was able to mine between 130 and 180 million coins/day with my 2.7 MH hashrate and I was happier to sell them for 1-2 litoshi on CoinedUp (when it was listed). Then there were MOON, EARTH, NOBLE (can't really remember all Smiley). When TIPS was listed on Cryptsy, I had about 250 LTC and several hundred million TIPS. We had a chat on CoinEx trollbox and several guys agreed to try push TIPS to a BTC pair. I participated with 127 or 137 LTC, but my "wall" was eaten in like 5 seconds. Cheesy TIPS in fact is one of my biggest mistakes in crypto since I accumulated about 3 billion coins, but most of them were sold in the 1-8 litoshi range (the peak on Cryptsy was ~170 litoshi, and you probably know that Fedora was pumped by the chinese few months ago). Anyway, back in March 2014 the russian has agreed to buy scrypt ASICs and I started to research the market. He had one condition though - NO pre-orders. We have send a guy to the KnCMiner office in Stockholm, Sweden, but the guy said that only the cleaner lady there can speak swedish and that they looked shady. Then I have send my cousin to the MAT's (Mining Asics Technologies) office in Maastricht, Netherlands and he first told me that we can buy the ASICs right way. I went crazy since the russian decided to invest 50,000 euro and MAT were selling 200 MH miner for like $11k (if I remember correctly). But then my cousin had a second meeting in the MAT's office and they changed their stance. After that I had several phone talks with the owner (Mark was his name?) and I told him that we were not joking and we are ready to pay 50% more for the miners if we can buy them right away. That never happened and after some time MAT declared bankruptcy. In late April, 2014 I found a guy from Rotterdam, Netherlands (heya, Jeroen! Smiley) who was seling 60MH A2 Terminator's for 6,600 or 6,800 euro. I told him that we can prove that we have the money to buy 7 miners (420 MH), but we first wanted to travel to the Netherlands, see and test the ASICs and then pay. He agreed to order 3 and we aranged a meeting on 19 May, 2014. We travelled to Netherlands with a car, saw the guy, tested the ASICs, had some drinks and travelled back to Bulgaria (I am bulgarian). When we received the remaining 4 ASICs, we were able to mine between $1000 and $1500 worth of crypto in a day. We started a company called Cryptoventures LTD. and the russian was ready to invest millions if I convince him that this is working. Here is when he made a mistake though. He appointed his Forex broker to work with me. The russian offered me 1500 BGN salary (average salary in Bulgaria is about 750 BGN, but if you include our capital (Sofia). Many people in the province are working for 400-500 BGN/month) and 30% of the profits (but after we make ROI of the investment). The broker had the obligations to tell me what and when to buy/sell. My job was to make sure that everything is working and to follow cryptocurrencies (i.e., I was the one who was choosing what to mine). But after several months (and bad results), the broker was fired and I started to work alone. That was until early this year. I told you that my salary was 1500 BGN, but several months after the broker got fired, they started screwing me with my salary. This month I receive 1000, the next one 500 etc.. (they were paying me 500 BGN on every 10 days), so at the end, they owed me 6000 BGN (~$3400). I have then said "Enough" and left them with the miners, coins and everything.

P.S. Here I must say that the russian had nothing to do with my salary. He has many people working for him and one of his bulgarian companies were the ones who were taking care off the "crypto business". So, basically, I was screwed by a fellow bulgarians. Cheesy

That's it... Smiley

There is something stupid afoot,

Gdax lists LTC, but Coinbase does not give it as a wallet option like ETH & BTC.

Are they just slow to implement or are they just being stupid at Coinbase?

You might have not noticed that there was a period of several months between the addition of ETH to GDAX, then the addition of ETH to Coinbase.

Thanks for the info, I did not notice.

I Drank too much coffee.  Smiley

Great that the listing on GDAX actually happened! It is nice for litecoin to be in the spotlight like this again, and see some serious volume on the various exchanges.

To all, best to let bitcoinlitcoinbtcltc be. He always starts spamming negative stuff when ltc is down and positive stuff when it is up.

Congratulations to LTC, the developers and the founder. But Coinbase is overrated. What has it really brought in the cryptoshpere? The possibility that it will be regulated? Cheesy Not even the twins from the facebook movie brought anything in the cryptosphere. Also Brian Armstrong has shown himself to be not that clever after those tweets about ETC.

Years of stability with no hacks, an exchange for bank account USD for bitcoin. Its subsidiaries, and various partnerships have brought more than that.

So a lot really.

Why besides new exchange LTC is top deal ?
Don't get me wrong exchanges screwed so many people more me included that some coin on new exchange make no difference to me once is hacked coins drops in value like rock.

besides the new exchange, i dont know. But a new exchange, specially a big one, brings more volume to the coin.
yet, i dont see any reason to buy ltc right now.. all i see is a fast pump followed by a dump.

....BTC is DEAD , LONG LIVE LTC

Can you explain me why LTC is so better than BTC ?
For me its almost same coin with diffrent block times, and hash alghoritm, maybe initial distribution was more fair becouse more people were involved in that but
if we look at that maybe we should give X coin to all facebook users and use it  it will have more great distribution and fair one,
rich won't have more than poor.

GDax, which is basically Coinbase is the primary access that most US citizens buy and sell BTC, links direct to their Bank accounts or debit cards.
Meaning that Now, their clients can Buy LTC instead of BTC to purchase other coins or goods or services.
Before this date, their clients had to buy BTC and convert it to LTC on another exchange.
This always gave additional buy support & trading volume to BTC, as a gateway between Crypto & Fiat.

Now LTC can act as a Gateway between the crypto & fiat , cutting BTC out of the Game Completely.

Due to it's faster speed and lower transactions price , it will be in higher demand.
With BTC, I can send $4 worth of BTC, which is 0.01 , but my cost to send it , is .0004 (23 cents)
With LTC, I can send $4 worth of LTC, which is ~1 LTC , but my cost to send it, is only 0.00010000 LTC (not even a Penny)

LTC Wins BTC will lose, because LTC is faster and more economical to send for the client.  Wink
Price of LTC is Going Up, Price of BTC will go down.

I'm not sure about the algo, but better distribution makes more difficult to manipulate the price. And I think the high volatility is one of the problems for the adoption of bitcoin as a currency.
