All markets can be affected by news and rumors. But since the cryptocurrency market is relatively new and small the impact of positive/negative news is bigger and more noticeable.
Influencers like Elon Musk are trying to take advantage of it to manipulate the market for their own benefit. But likely, the community is gaining immunity against it and are paying less attention to their manipulative tweets.

Quite true with what op has said, which is why every trading style can be applied on the crypto market.

Be it trading fundamentals, applying technical analysis or whatever works for you will work here, but do we also categories  tweets from Elon to be news as well?

I realize also that at every bull or bear, the market is waiting for a news to change the direction. Like such news from Elon musk is capable to do that and now I realize the power of such influence on the market. The fud gradually caused huge dump because it created panic, though price is recovering as bitcoin is appreciating.
Could it be people look at these for market direction because we don't have expert advisors/analysts that aren't bias.

This is what I notice in the little time I have been here.

Apart from few months after halving, I have noticed that news is one important factor that will increase or decrease the price of bitcoin. And when price affect bitcoin, it gradually affects altcoins and you see red all the places. For example, when the recent deep happened, all altcoins also went down.

I realize also that at every bull or bear, the market is waiting for a news to change the direction. Like such news from Elon musk is capable to do that and now I realize the power of such influence on the market. The fud gradually caused huge dump because it created panic, though price is recovering as bitcoin is appreciating.

Also that anytime that there is adoption news by influencial personality or institution, price increase because it means more investors would leverage on that. I remember this when PayPal announced the use of 4 cryptocurrency including bitcoin, it gave an increase in price and that pushed for the current ATH.

My conclusion therefore is to take note of these factors as they have shown to be indicators of direction of where price may move to.

First, I'm surprised that you still call yourself new with an activity of 1300+. In principle, you are an old hand Wink

Lol can you point me to where I called myself new in the post you quoted  Huh
Experience is different from saying new  Grin
However, human are still learning and we can't stop learning because the day we stop learning we start dying.

Because if you could remember back then in February when Elon Musk bought Bitcoin worth $1.5billion, and accepted it to be used as a means of payment for his electric cars, which resulted to much demand and led to it's value reaching $63000 per bitcoin..

And likewise, when that same Elon Musk  made a statement of stopping the use of bitcion for the sells of his electric cars, the price went the opposite, as it's demand decreased, resulting to it's price to fall to almost $35,000..

So, That's how it works...
News really matters...

You get the point on it and these are the two (PayPal and Elon musk) major news in recent times that have changed the direction of the market, one for bull and the other for bear. The news from my observation force the market to change direction while technical continues from the direction.

Fundamental analysis and news can be a good source of Hype and price direction. Sometime it's influence the price that fast and we can see it once there is a news of someone influencer or big people invest on this, the price of the token and coin will skyrocket. Yes most of them are like that. Traders and investors easily fomo with the hype and sometime it gives a good profit.

One of the most influencing reasons why crypto will crash or rise up is the news that is spreading.
There are so many FUDs that we can find and these cause dropped prices. Why? because it will influence many people to worry because of the FUD, lead people to panic sell and then the market can drop so easily on several hours only.

And so does the good news. Many newcomers will be in and many also other people will be a blessing and happy to know that the crypto market rises up so significnalty. And this makes many people earn profits hihgly. But, many newcomers are also trapped in this situation, when they come and buy coins at the top price.

Whereas, in every rise, there will be also market correction. And not all people are ready with the market correction.

You're still quite new and you're right with your observation. But I think you also have to experience those big positive news but did nothing to the market.

There were a lot of in 2018 and yet the market got through a bear run by that time.

You're right when it comes to fundamental analysis... i.e "trading the "news" but that should not be the only basis to dive into market, but as for me, I think Fundamental & technical analysis with other tools combined together will make more sense because the market is full of surprises and you cannot "predict" the market, you can only "react" base on my on my little experience in the crypto market. There are sometimes, a certain news do not have much influence on the market. This is why it will make more sense to have the news and technical analysis correlate.

This is very much a new and some worth unhealthy trend in cryptos. Its not always been like this until Elon Musk came along. Being world richest man, being an influential fellow, a great investor and the way the crypto world reverence him to have been an advocate for crypto is what made this happen. Naturally,  the constraints that played out in the market were very much not something that could be easily determined. Now, just a tweet from this figure is all it took as people are left with mixed feeling on either to invest along side Musk and tap from what his wisdom and vision has led him to archive over the years or to depend on your own feelings and see how far it gets you. In that instance, there is already a sentiment introduced and it goes a long way to affect the market because, one wouldn't like to go against the investment advice of this figure.

This is good reporting and opinion, but should this be? Should news wether rumours or real be able to affect the price of bitcoin -crypto- is this the down-side of bitcoin -crypto- getting adopted my masses, I think this would be worse and this is always in favour of bad news, few weeks ago the market went falling an in my country it was a big chaos but when the market strived hard to go up a bit there wasn't matching news about it, I don't think this will supply growth to Bitcoin development,
News has a high excitement on people and might determine what they would do, but bad news has a high ratio to this than the good once, now with influencers have a chief role to play this is becoming a decision made by what is trending I don't think we need all that in crypto-currency.

Second, there is absolutely nothing new. The world is news driven. You can see that quite well in the stock market. The cryptocurrency market is just the little brother of the stock market.

The news does not affect the market, but rather the market psyche, so to influence the price, you need to pay some money to move the market and then publish news to affect the market’s psyche and make the price move strongly up or down.
IMO, news will affect trader and trader are those who will influence the market.

For example, if a wealthy person buys 2 million Bitcoins, the price will not change until after this news is spread.
Therefore, tracking the news may be misleading if you are not sure of the sources. Many artificial intelligence algorithms control the news channels and social media, thus changing prices.
Please correct me if it's wrong.
I may not agree with the example you described because in my opinion the more demand for bitcoin on the market, the selling price definitely increase automatically without the need for news. The news about buying bitcoin in bulk will only influence other trader to buy and will also increase the demand so that the selling price will continue to increase and it is not uncommon for the price to be pumped.

The news  can bring in positive and negative situation for any market and it depends upon the investors of that market how they react to that situation and that's is relevant to direction of prices. If investors and news have direct relation market will witness crash in negative and bull run in positive news respectively. But yes we can say that most of the times it is the News, rumours and FUD's  that can change the direction of prices of any crypto like bitcoin.Same has happened this time also like under Musk influence and China's Bitcoin ban btc new  investors got panicked and start dumping their coins in the market which cause crash like situation. But ignoring these news can have no effect on prices as seen in some events in past.Rest this is always the issue and newbies still faces the FUD and market dips.

Yes.. you have a point there, because I can remember back in the days of my economics classes, that when the supply is greater than demand price falls, but when the supply is lesser than demand price increases. So same is news also applicable to bitcoin.

Because if you could remember back then in February when Elon Musk bought Bitcoin worth $1.5billion, and accepted it to be used as a means of payment for his electric cars, which resulted to much demand and led to it's value reaching $63000 per bitcoin..

News leads to reaction of investors that's why some people think that news are controlling the market, same goes to celebrities hyping a coin, governments regulation, etc.
However these fuds are a "meh" for those who hodl Bitcoin. Smiley
I wouldn't advice that you base your decisions from the news itself.

What you say is right. But not all news can make the crypto market moves because there will be another reason why the price increase or decreases without us know.
But yes, releasing the news can be our sign to do something related to the situation because that can make the market go up or down.
As long as you can prepare for anything that will happen to the market, I am sure you will have your time to use that for your benefit.
You do not have to worry about anything if you are ready because you will know what you need to do and do not forget always to analyze the market before you do something.

You have some misconceptions about the market that you have presented cryptocurrency all kinds of news and some news related to cryptocurrency when the price of bitcoin or other coins and tokens rise. if we look at it for a while we can see that the cryptocurrency market is going up and down for no reason. Combining everything one can understand that the market often moves at its own pace.

You are wrong.
News affects price but it doesn't control it. In other words the market is not waiting for some news to make a move. For example at any time there is a certain direction that bitcoin is following, if a news comes that is in that direction it will contribute to it, like a positive news during the bull run otherwise it will be ignored.

For every FUD you can find that crashed the market I can show you 2 FUDs that didn't. Same with positive news. For instance last year during the drop from $10k where people were panicking similar to today there were at least 3 big positive news that didn't change the direction at all. Or similarly when price broke $4k for the first time 2 years ago and continued rising the FUD campaign was very active and it couldn't change the upward trajectory at all.

The market's immature and we are part of a trend that never existed before: memes! And useless hypes.
Any hype trend will bring useless projects to the market. People love masternodes, scam teams create masternode coins for them. People love DeFi, scam teams create scam DeFi for them. People love meme tokens, scammers bring many meme tokens to them.

Generally, most of them are scam projects and very useless.

Once things get settled around the world regarding Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general, silly news might not affect markets so much anymore. Perhaps they will affect the small mcaps that are always prone to such risks all the time anyway. What we all can do now is stop giving silly news any kind of attention and they'll all die out naturally. If we keep pushing for trends like memecoins and hypes, newbies will get wrecked over time..
Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency that crypto newbies should buy. It is the last cryptocurrency that crypto investors should hold in their portfolios.
