I must admit i nearly bought through ebay.
I looked at mount gox.
then i looked at everything i had to do, and the wait and understand how to use new software and then read about the how careful i have to be.
And i know ebay, i'm comfortable with ebay and i've used it for years.

if it had been closer to the exchange rate i would have bought it (not from this guy though).

but then i would have found i'd need the software anyway... and so on.

Your 90 year old Grandma probably knows more about Bitcoin than your average Paypal or Ebay customer service rep.
behave yourself. rudeness leads to bad karma and bad karma leads to negative ebay feedback, if you catch my drift ; )

Are you speaking as an ebay or paypal rep?

I don't think many on this forum would pay 60 USD for .25 BTC, but good luck!

While that is true, non-enthusiasts might actually do so via eBay because of the convenience.

I'm selling Bitcoin at a discount of $160 per coin. Payment must be made in US Dollars. A lot of Seller's successfully sell their Bitcoin for over $200 but dealing with Paypal and scammers is a too much of a hassle.
To Paypal and Ebay Bitcoin is akin to Voodoo. Your 90 year old Grandma probably knows more about Bitcoin than your average Paypal or Ebay customer service rep.

I have 100% positive feedback and have been selling for 6months.

From the auction:

"I will pursue the matter in both Civil and Criminal Courts, as I am a Lawyer and I will leave you negative feedback and get you banned from Ebay and Paypal, I don't have many cases at the moment so I have all the time in the World to pursue my case against you should you chose to try to scam me."

Can an Ebay seller leave a buyer negative feedback?

He forgot to say and i will hold my breath till i burst... all this seems so childish

..if this is how he operates as a Lawyer (red letters capital L) its no wonder he has few cases ...at the moment of course

..actually yes you can leave negative feedback to a buyer

You can do it on your desktop but it seems like the mobile app automatically chooses positive feedback

I have always wondered why Bitcoins sell for so much more than the exchange rate on eBay?

This particular auction is obnoxious, but you figure they need about 20% (10% ebay fees, and about 4.7% plus transaction fee for paypal) just to break even so seeing markups of 30-50% isn't all that rare.  A 100% markup though that requires an ID?  Forget it.  If he want's it to be so secure, and wants people to jump through that many hoops, he better be selling closer to 15-20%...

I'm wondering if he was a scammer himself or somehow got banned from BTC exchanges?

LOL I have bought LTC/BTC on ebay before. Never had to send an ID thats just a joke. Seriously WTF are you thinking. Also 100% mark up?

Sorry to be harsh but that will never sell and asking for an ID is actually going against everything bitcoin

Holy crap!  Why would anyone pay that much for a bitcoin???  And I'm pretty sure that you can't require proof of identiy past what paypal already does as it is against eBay's policies.

...you're not a lawyer lol

Anyway, why are you selling BTC at such a ridiculously high price?  I assume it's for the risk, but, I mean, it really isn't that hard to use an exchange.
