Well, ICO now is not that profiting since as I have observe as somehow I am also lurking and joining some ICO projects in their telegram channel. It seems that many investors and even bounty hunters that are vocal in their channel asking about rewards and listing in an exchange. They got mad all the time knowing that a coin or token price after listing drop its market price to almost half of its ICO price.
Not just half most of them goes down 70-90% just a week after listing,so the hunters will take almost no profit since they will be rewarded 2-6 months after listing lol.though some had already given them the the reward but being freezes to sell in exchange
That’s how hard to trust ICO now,and we cannot blame investors for not entertaining projects nowadays and preventing to be a victim again

I have bought loads tokens from promising ICOs over the years and only about 5% of them lasted for more than 2 years. I think I have been lucky to spot the exit strategy before it actually happens, so I have managed to make a small profit, before it went down.  Tongue

The ICOs with long-term potential are always the ones with the strongest use case and that is the secret behind the success of these tokens. So look for the use case and evaluate it's long-term potential based on how disruptive it can be or how innovative it is.  Undecided

OP you have a good concept and encouraging one if I am going to describe your thread for you are basing on your experience as an investors for a year in buying ICO tokens/coins. I know that it is so hard to choose a project to invest that is why it is good to carefully choose a project to join. But, I am not in favor on investing ICO as we all know that even other country like China and USA are strictly imposing rules on this for their community. The reason behind is that they give statistics that almost 80-90 % of ICO are fraud. You can check google on it because I had also check it and probably they are right.

I know that it is good to buy in an ICO projects for it could have a possibility to earn more in the near future as if you will going to hold your token. Look CHT, I have been watching over this project from more or less 5 months from now and the project has successfully made to more than 5x increase on their token market price even in this bear market. So those who brought it in an ICO had earn on it already. However, to those investors that are only after some assurance investing in a project after some time of watching market price grow is good. I can say that CHT will still go high for more so that is why investing on it is good. Well that is just an example. I may be wrong but as CHT now goes high so probably this one project is truly one of a kind.

thank you, sharing very helpful. There is currently no good time for ICO selling projects, with most developers moving their plans to the end of the year or early next year. You can put this article in the beginer & help section more reasonable

Yes, the current market is not favorable for new ICO projects, people should switch to usdt or buy coin in the top. Prices are really cheap now
can not agree more. This is not a good time for launching new ICO. The only think you should do is buying crypto and waiting.

However much time you invest doing a pre-check on the whitepaper, team, and so on, chances are that the ICO won’t turn out well. According to a New Study: 80% of ICOs are Scams, Only 8% Reach an Exchange:
Very good read, but it would be interesting which period of time was reviewed. Most ICOs building phase after collecting funds came up in a bear market, got the most money when BTC and ETH were very high, but held the collected money in crypto, so all the price went down and collected funds were decreased by high numbers compared to the time when the money was send to participate in an ICO.
Most likely this had a very high impact on the stats and I think if we have a bull market and do an ICO, the numbers are much better. But I agree, also 10 to 20 percent success rate would still be very low.

80% of the ICOs were scams from the get-go.
6% failed.
5% died in the process.
8% manages to reach the exchanges, but only half were successful.

Chances are that unless we are outstanding at doing our due-diligence, our investment portfolio will have a similar distribution to the above.

One of the core factors to consider is whether a given ICO really requires blockchain/tokens to exits, or if this is artificially pumped-in into the deal to make it crypto attractive (even though the product/service could be created just as well outside of the crypto sphere). The former is a better bet than the latter.

Selecting an ICO to invest in has become increasingly difficult, and this has been heightened by the bearish market which chokes out poorly organized projects.
During the bull run of last year, developers could simply gamble with the booming market to boost their coin once it hits the market without putting any effort into sustaining the project and it would buy them lots of time to make an exit.

2018 has been different and only highly quality projects backed by an experienced and commited team can succeed.
Exhaust every available resource at your disposal when picking an ICO to invest in.
If possible seek the advise of more knowledgeable cryptocurrency enthusiasts and follow expert opinion and not hype or promises.

Experience for one year buying ICO can not be use as a yard stick to generalize ICO investment in the cryptocurrency space, Let me state that year 2018 is an exceptional year, where the market has been bearish for a long while, And this is base on year 2017 astronomic growth  of the market trend, the market is still evolving, lots of ICO will tend to extinction

2018 so far has being a quite year and waiting for the rise to pick up now. 2017 also was same other than the last 2 months. But overall ICO coins will depend how much influence and potential the coin has what will be its demand in coming times based on it the price will the factor.

Id like to say that this is useful but I can`t. Such general advises.

We would rather want to read about you real results, your ROI, most successful ICO, your mistakes, etc. And not such general things.

Have you really invested?

I think your final point about founders wanting to get rich from the token + easy to contact, I think the first point is arguable.
it's not about getting rich short term for any serious inventors, I think so at least. getting rich from the token = might aswell pump news like tons of shitcoins do, and then sell and let it die.
and easy to contact, really? they should have far more important things to do than to sit in telegram!

but it was a good post Smiley

These are all good points but I think this will not necessarily work in the future. The community has matured much more and given the fact that almost 99% of ICOs are just vapourware, people are just speculating in ICOs.
I don't say that ICO market is dead but it will simply transition into the next phase, which are use cases, products and solving an existing problem.

This is useful for both Bounty participants, so really now we need to choose ICO very carefully so as not to waste time and money. But it is important to pay attention to what time of the market, if as the second half of this year I think will be very difficult to succeed.

Yes since this forum had change the rule now demoted members try to get merit by all means. maybe by buying merit or even copying topics from a web that is not well known, hope no one will be know about this. But people will be suspicious when they see the history post, which is you always just post on bounty, then you making a good topic so they will search it. Why are they not trying to make their own topics or buy copper membersip.

You have copied the whole idea from here- http://adprofuturenet.com/references-6-principles-of-ico-investment-you-should-know-in-the-bubble-era/
It's really weird that people plagiarise for having a single merit. Lol. Some people are also encouraging here. I think people should check first before throwing a comment.
