I'll suggest you read DdmrDdmr's reply before yours as well as the links in them, to get the full story; and next time try to read other replies, not just that of the OP, before posting.Some won't notice that as well and will just congratulate op. Though there's nothing wrong with greeting someone for their achievement, it would still be better to read the most previous reply/replies so that your response will also be updated.
I was also wondering where could this guy would be. Actually in my opinion is that he is an asset to the forum but sad to say he had nowhere to be found now. The pseudoname he use was sounds like theymos or something like a side kick. However, here in our place TMAN is a firetruck engine model and was known as rosebauer. A good fire fighting engine with high pressure on its hoses connected to PTO TMAN engine.

Not many users are focused on little silent details such as, the time a post was made, if it has been recently edited, the attention it gets and if there is a red flag on the account. It's a congratulatory post and everyone is always excited to see yet another user climb up the ranks but, in the case of this particular user, what caught my attention first was, the 50merit a mare 5 line post got from an experienced legendary member! Seriously, I just felt something fishy about it. I had to see the individuals post and it's more of quoting and complaint replies besides, the OP has been around since January and still just a Jr. Member. After a quick check on the trust system with Lauda and all DT on the user, it was clear how the user is not an inspiration in anyway to anyone. You can't be having negative trust and still be very inspiring!!!
Users on the forum should learn to do this at times, instead of rushing to drop your comments, make some observations on silent details to ensure your comment on a post is relevant instead of spamming and bumping a post that should even be an archived post.

First and foremost, congratulations for ranking up! I understand that it is relatively harder to rank-up compared to the time before the merit implementation happened but you deserve all the reward and credit!
Like what you mentioned, contribution to the forum garners merit especially if you contribute something that is at least substantial and/or entertaining to the viewers. In addition, make it a point to think that contribution makes the forum better and the merits that you receive is just a collateral to your actual contribution.

Not that inspiring really, but rather it does succeed in being exemplifying … in a different way. The account tried to shine too much, and was hit by a 50 Merit spotlight, to the point that it became suspicious to some, and that led to some people to dig-in, and hey presto: It turns out that the account was ban evading, due to the person behind being the owner of a previously banned account.

He has now 100+ merits and can be ranked to Full member if the activity is completed but then this Does this thread really deserve the attention it has got? happened.

Unlike most other users, we have to go through a fairly long process, struggling to get merit by making constructive, informative, useful posts and trying to make a guide or tutorial on the thread so that we have the opportunity to the rank-up.
I hope you will get more merit going forward by becoming a useful user with your posts. Every now and then I feel jealous of users like you, getting quite a lot of merit easily even though you havent made a big effort compared to other users. But I dont think that is a problem, because everyone has the right to get what they want and this merit system cant stop anyone who wants to rise to the next rank unless they are posters of spam, junk, and low-quality post.

I also got my first merit from him and from that day until now I still don't forget what he has done. If it's not from his rare method of giving merit, I might not get single merit until now.

Looks fine to me (no deletions). The 10th Anniversary brought along some exceptional anomalies, and some people managed to earn for their art a lot of merits, some of which had a low rank at the time. For example ADAMA_NOW stands with 174 Merits, whilst being a Newbie with 11 posts. rare_designer holds 157 merits with only 10 posts, and there are other similar cases. Nevertheless, being merited regularly on a variety of posts is equally hard to see, as is the OPs case.

Considering how hard it is to gain merits. No matter how good and related your posts are, there's still a bigger possibility that you wouldn't get a merit. Knowing also that there are a lot of participants here in the forum looking forward to gain merit, there is a very low probability you would recieve one. Congrats! I got 0 Merits during my first month here, and you are already close to 50 in that period of time, so not bad at all. To rank-up at the rate one would have done before the Merit System, you need to earn an average of a merit per day (a bit more of a push is required at the end), and you are already above that average … Normally, moving from one rank to another get a bit tougher the further up you go on the rank-scale, as it is not easy to have the time and commitment to contribute to the forum for an extensive period of time.

In less then a month of your registered date you have got 45 merits. Very soon you will be at member level as you have necessary merits for that already. This is an example that if you are devoted and willing to work hard no one can stop from going up.

I had the same feeling like you, that it will be very hard to reach 100 merit after i reached my first 10, it seemed at first a huge mountain to climb, but if you write decent posts and know a thing or two about subjects you are writing, you will get merits and rank up.

Everyone always thinking about "Hard to Rank Up", but they never make a good post. You are one of a lot of people who can rank up very easy. Look your post, just small think you need to give to member such as you comment about "ANN", do you think to give that answer you need to try hard? Maybe no.
Small thing like this can give an education to member, and very helpful. Of course, if your post seen by merit source or member who think your post is good, they will appreciate your post with merits.

You don't even really need to try THAT hard. Mostly the reason why most people can't earn merits even if they try hard and some people can earn merits just casually is because the former mostly knows little to nothing about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. Basically, they went here and register solely due to earn money.

My first ranking up was a while ago. I moved from newbie to Jr Member today. Today is such a day for me to celebrate and enjoy. Today I feel very different happy myself. I am sure it is my birthday gift. With the help of everyone in this forum, I am able to achieve Jr. Member. I hope I can go so far. I want the cooperation of all in this foram. At first, I thought it would be difficult for me to rank up. But It is not. Ranking Up can be done easily if you try hard. I will do my best to contribute to this forum.
