We don’t know everything, after interacting with people form different geographies I find I know less of the world than I thought. Constructive criticism is necessary for positive changes to happen, a third party can easily highlight your mistakes so you can make improvements. It’s is possible to feel attacked when somebody criticize your body of work, for me I can easily tell the intention of the user is for my betterment

If other user who criticized your work because they don't want you to improve or they doing that because they want you to be down or let say Abusive Criticism only thing you should do is to ignore them and don't reply any question or ask from them. But if someone criticized your work because you are not following the rules and regulations then you should accept that and improve your quality works.

How do you deal with criticism on Bitcointalk forum?

Many of us interpret criticism as an attack on our own value, taking criticism personally when it is not. We must never forget that feedback, whether positive or negative, is simply a reflection of how others perceive our words. If the feedback is negative, it is for us to learn from it, adapt, and become a better speaker, writer, or communicator. This will help us learn to handle criticism more effectively. Don't let the negativity drain you of your self-confidence, let it motivate you. Remember that the goal is not to be perfect, but to be an effective communicator, that's what's important.

How do you deal with criticism on Bitcointalk forum?

In most cases, it is more useful to ignore any criticism, and even more so not to get involved in a dispute, you will only waste time trying to prove something to another anonymous person on the Internet, so this is a waste of time, anyway, everyone will remain with their own opinion. It is important to separate such concepts as dispute and discussion. In discussions, you can note for yourself some new facets of the issue under discussion, because the people leading the discussions try to supplement the subject of this very discussion with various arguments, while in a dispute, each side simply tries to defend its point of view, ignoring or trying to devalue the opponent's arguments.

The most pointless disputes on the forum, I would call disputes about the price of bitcoin. Cheesy

Never become weak just because of constructive criticism, but you should think of it as something positive. You can judge criticism and insults basically easily, not too difficult but don't be offended if you are in discussion forum like bitcointalk because we don't have to be the same forever.

Remember, not everyone agrees with what we say because here you and I and others may have different opinions, they will criticize it but we should not be sensitive especially if it is constructive. It's actually quite simple, you shouldn't argue with someone who keeps insulting you directly but just ignores them for good. But take the positive side of constructive criticism.

How do you deal with criticism on Bitcointalk forum?

I never faced criticism on this forum. If someone disagrees with me, that's good, that's the whole point of having a discussion. If someone points out my mistakes, that's great, it means I have just learned something new, for free.

If someone feels like they are criticized here, chances are they have a persecution complex and overestimate their own knowledge.

Sometimes I take humiliation or embarrassment as a way to thicken my skin, not just in this forum but to the whole internet as well so sometimes I just tend to not use the Ignore button. Maybe if there was a point that the certain user is now bugging me out when I just wanted to participate in a discussion.
For constructive criticisms, I often give merit to those who gave those to me. I am open to learning more anyway. Cheesy

To me criticism can break a person moral sometimes, depends on how it is constructed. But like the writer said, we need to put on a thick skin so your morals will not be broken. And remember if I does not kill you, it makes you stronger.

Learn to fact check and learn how to research on a certain topic that you can use for cross referencing to provide an accurate if not the best answer regardless of the nature of the topic. This means that you really know and have applied what you are talking about and not just some random gibberish content just to achieve certain quota. You are only entitled to give an opinion or advice as long as you can defend it morally and ethically.

And if there are members who corrected you in the middle of the discourse, then it would be best to absorb what they teach you like a sponge and never repeat the same advice you have given before.

The thing I like about bitcointalk is that it only has constructive criticism, from what I've seen two years now. If you don't understand all this bitcoin terminology, just make an account here, that's what I did; I nearly knew a thing before. Now I know that I know nothing.  Smiley

There are lots of helpful folks. Stackexchange is also useful, but that's a little much for techie stuff only.

This post has reminded me of my first active months in this forum. During this period I was always scared to check the responses from my posts. This was because I was scared of criticism. This fear was aggravated when one of my post was called a shit post by a member, I felt like abandoning the forum. Although I am still frightened about criticism but I have grown to understand that everyone have different views and perspectives about a given topic. I have learnt to accept their perspective if they are valid and make mine more comprehensive. Critics has also made me to check and recheck the source of my information before posting. One of my thread was discredited because I used a credible source that promoted propaganda. Although the topic was nice, but the critic proved that my thread was not from a reliable source. Hence, for you to be bold and face critics, ensure that your information sources are reliable.

In my little time here and from the very few post I have started, going through the comments that follow, some seem to be criticism, some carefully constructed, while some are quite straightforward. These users may mean no harm and I choose to see it that way, I have decided to take all forms of criticism as a push to do better. I advice other newbies like myself and others to change the way they perceive criticism, to see it as a push to do better rather than a discouragement.

This is huge community consisting of people from various backgrounds and have different view points that clashes sometimes. We should face it and make relevant points in our talks and that can be done as said by @NeuroticFish by increasing our knowledge. We as newbies have also faced this because some members who are high rank think they have complete knowledge and the other person is newbie and don't have idea about what he's saying but as you rank up and enhance your knowledge you could shut up that trolls.

Or if you can't then ignore button is always one click ahead and you can press it without any future lagging the trolls.

It's very easy to tell which is which.

A constructive criticism would look like a normal debate message, and destructive types are generally full of insults without much arguments about the topic. You don't need a PhD in pshycology to figure that out.

Yes your can easily identify them with just a glance as one with constructive spirit will guide members by correcting their mistakes and guidance and you can see no abusive words being used but on the other side some members try to use harsh words making it look like personal grudges that some members face off which is wrong and this should be avoided.

Honesty, the first thing you have to learn is the difference between constructive criticism and destructive (or abusive) criticism. It is important to clarify whether the criticism is meant to bring improvement or to cripple you.

Has it ever occurred to you that sometimes the best answer to criticism is not to answer anything at all?  Grin
There are really quality and good members on this forum with whom it is a pleasure to discuss and from whom much can be learned.
Unfortunately, there are other members who are not well-meaning and who constantly criticize others but are not ready to accept different opinions regardless of the arguments and facts presented.
In time you will learn who is who on this forum and my advice to you is not to waste time and energy on pointless discussions.

Acceptance is all what we need to have for all criticism we receive here because we cannot count all people here to like us because we have different perspective on certain situations on what people discuss about those certain issues. And we just treat all those as part of our growth because if we can deal up all the challenges we face especially those critical once for sure we will be more experience to handle all things especially those trolls who intend to spit and destroy our reputation here. Just make sure you do the right thing and didn't do anything to harm anyone since you will be alright in all cases if you just here with pure intentions to learn or even help new people to learn about crypto.

How do you deal with criticism on Bitcointalk forum?

By learning more. As simple as that. And maybe by having a more mature view on the forum.

I was criticized in many occasions by people more technical than me, just because I tried to help, but, because I was not knowledgeable enough, I failed or made mistakes.
Meanwhile I've learned a lot more, I've learned from some, I've put others on ignore (it helps sometimes Wink) and .. "grew up".

Now I know that everybody has the right for having an opinion, no matter how wrong that is. Now I know that different people have different standards.

When people criticize, it is an actual sign you are making a step in life, because criticism can never be excluded, and thats why it's good to always learn how to react when people criticized us. And these your point seems to be a good clue for all forum members irrespective of rank.
One thing i personally have noticed is that, if you do something, people will criticize, if you don't, people will still criticize, so its better to do and be criticized.
The other thing is, we should all have an open mind to criticism, because what doesn't break you, makes you, just like you said. Because on this forum "bitcointalk", we all have a goal and vision here, so never you let the criticism of Mr. A or B break you, but rather make you to be that better person that this forum will be proud of someday.

##Always agree to learn what you don't know ##
Thanks

Once a man, twice a child!
As you grow old on the forum, you will get to realize that the "ignore" option will serve better, especially when you borrow the constant advice of certain veterans here to grow thick skin. I won't hit the ignore button because a user criticizes me but I can effortlessly do that if a user becomes an annoying troll. There are users who derive joy trolling others and attempting to get under their skin. Such users, you ignore.

In all, just keep being your real self and let others do their thing. Don't pander to anyone. No one can claim they're loved by all. That's not possible.

It is important to clarify whether the criticism is meant to bring improvement or to cripple you. There are healthy ways to go about constructive criticism, like helping you to do better. Often times though, when people want to shut people down or hinder people, they will use the latter. Be prepared to deal with it.
