In this market anything can happen and logic flies out the window with Mcafee tweets but I am happy with these projects rather than just pure speculation:

Waves (Dev and news are never quiet)
Oyster Pearl (Honestly love the idea of giving an alternative to adds)
Deep Onion (Started out as an airdrop for me but dev is building strong and new ideas come out fast)
Nav coin (Solid dev, very nice roadmap with anonymous Dapps being the strongest for 2018)

For me Stratis is one of the projects with the greatest potential for the coming years. I'm betting on him.

Two coins that can have great moments next year are Sumokoin and DeepOnion.

I'm looking for opinions on these coins:
- BMC
- POWR
- MOD
- SYS
- STRAT

I've already read whitepaper and have done some research by myself on MOD and POWR tokens. I even already invested in MOD for the long term, will probably invest into POWR but first I need to research STRAT, BMC and SYS to decide on my further steps.
Also I participated in BMC ICO and it's price dropped a half since then so it could be a great opportunity to buy.

Other than that what are your personal candidates for the long term?
I like SYS from your list. As for me it is the most promisin coin from your list

My long term picks because they have a very high potential to grow:

Waves
Komodo
Power Ledger
Enigma
Shift
Modum

Very nice projects and a good community.
The coins you mentioned here are pretty good altcoins. I think these altcoins will grow very well with this crypto market. I'm also investing in Waves, Komodo and Enigma. These are the coin I've been following for a long time and are investing a lot in it. I think it will rise sharply in January 2018 because it has good news at the moment.

Coins you mentioned, should be listed in coinmarketcap and at least having position in the big 10. Choose the higher. I think you should also start considering ICO especially Covesting while its price is still lower

Litecoin (LTC) - Bitcoin backup
Ethereum (ETH) - Smart Contracts
Vertcoin (VTC) - ASIC Resistant (CPU & GPU mining only)
Monero (XMR) - Private/Anonymous/Untraceable
Dash (DASH) - Masternode Governance model and a percent of mined coins continually set aside as a Budget that anyone can propose work to do and the governance votes on proposals and the direction of the coin
BiblePay (BBP) - fork of DASH, is ASIC Resistant like Vertcoin (CPU Only mining) and 10% of mined coins will always go to Charity, the project is already sponsoring 175+ orphans monthly through the charity Compassion International, Masternodes are going live this Christmas! https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/biblepay-10-to-orphan-charity-randomx-mining-sanctuaries-masternodes-2388064

This list certainly looks settle to me apart from MOD and SYS,rest all of them are doing good.I haven't seen and heard much about MOD and SYS as i never followed them. One thing that i would love to see is the inclusion of Ethereum,Monero, and Litecoin. As they have shown some serious impact on what could be the future of Cryptocurrency and has to be your longterm investment.Bitcoin Cash has done well too but i would prefer this three over BCH.

Your list is quite looking good and you can carry them forward for longer-term holding. If you can see here BMC is doing good and it's still undervalued with demand and volume is increasing from past month.MOD, POWR, and STRAT are really the gems in altcoin section and even I am holding them in my long-term portfolio. I have no idea about SYS but yes if you want apart from this list you can also add Ethereum classic, Litecoin, Deep onion, Waves, Ripple, Monero, IOTA, ELIX and Unify as they are looking good to me and even me planning to add them for this quarterly holding as they are expected to rise from this month. Anyways do your own research too, I may be wrong.

omg, iota.
Got some IOTA already. Not quite convinced about OMG tho.

Why you are not interesting with omg? I think this great project.  Iota also very good. It is launched in new technology call iot.
In my opinion, for long term picks i always prefer top marketcap altcoin like etherium and others.

I think, after bitcoin, the best choice for long term investmens is ethereum. Also IOTA have a good price curve, and it may bring good profits in the future.

From your portfolio, STRAT is an interesting and promising one. Try to increase the number of STRAT you have, I can say. You can also add ardor, litecoin, ethereum classic and monero to your portfolio. It will be a better one.

STRAT is good, but it is too hight for now. Smiley
So you telling me 14$ strat with 1.4 billion $ marketcap is expensive
and 0.4$ ADA with 11 billion $ marketcap is alot cheaper for you i guess ?
HAHA. Okay so keep waiting for it go to 50$ then you can invest.

If I were to choose which coins/tokens are the ones for long-term, here are they:

- Ripple
- Electroneum
- Tron
- Dogecoin
- Reddcoin
- Bytecoin
- Digibyte
- Siacoin

You know why? Because these coins I've mentioned are undervalued and have a lot of room to grow later on. I even predict that Ripple, Electroneum, Tron and Dogecoin are the ones that will skyrocket to the moon next year. However, we can't underestimate other undervalued coins. Everything in the cryptoverse is unpredictable.
