Might I add...

If you are repeating the same thing that has already been said ten times over in the same thread, every five replies... that is spam.
Got it. In altcoin discussion, probably that's what I did and I am sorry about that. But the other posts, in bitcoin discussion and gambling discussion, deleted posts were neither off topic nor spam repetitive.
Thank you for defining this. Locking thread.

If you are quoting a post and "agree" replying to it... that is spam.
You add nothing to the discussion? You regurgitate ideas? That is spam. Whether it is on-topic or not.

Saying "bitcoin is now $x" is meaningless.
Saying "yes i agree with your post and [paraphrasing quoted post]" is meaningless.

Adding new thoughts, new ideas... what's so hard about that?

Someone has been reporting a lot of posts as unsubstantial/one liners recently so you just got caught up in that and a mod obviously agreed with the report if your post was removed.
I bet there are many one liners with much sense than a whole lot of lengthy 250 character posts. People don't need to spur shitty comments by rigmaroling around a point just to make it lengthy by the way.

Well I would agree, but context is key here. What I do know is there's a lot of generic fluff going on in the sports threads. I mean, is this substantial, for example:

Most awaited match which did not happened in the league stages is going to happen now where 2 best sides among the top 4 is going to play and considering the strengths it is going to be a very interesting match. In last 5 matches team batting first have won the match.

I would say no. Generic two-liner churned out for sig payment as are seemingly most of his posts. Obviously you don't need to write an essay but it's usually pretty obvious when people are just forcing out their hollow one-liners for payment. I would prefer to tackle the root cause of the sig spam which is the campaigns that continually pay for this sort of spam but I've done all I can on that front.

I have also had some of my constructive posts deleted. I think the mods are being overzealous in their duty and should tone it down a bit.

I am 100% positive about this. His posts are not Off-topic ( the one Royce and I replied).

We already have a tiny cricket community. There are a handful of posters. Can count them on my fingers, who share good content etc in cricketing thread and pffrt is one of them. So it's sad to see someone reporting his all cricketing posts as well.

I wish people would stop assuming that posts are removed just for being off topic, that is just one of the reasons but there are many others, but obviously talking about cricket in a cricket thread isn't off topic. If the post gets removed for being unsubstantial then any posts quoting it will also be, but I can tell you there are a hell of a lot of people making unsubstantial posts in various sports threads. I don't go in the cricket threads because I have no interest in cricket but I see it first hand in the various football threads with people really making lousy generic posts. It tends to happen a lot in sports threads because a lot of people don't know much about bitcoin but they can squeeze out something sports related if they have a vague interest in it. I don't know exactly what that post was removed for specifically as I didn't remove it but I do not someone reported a lot of posts for them being unsubstantial and Pffrt was included in them. And just to clarify, that's not me commenting specifically on his or any other case but just what I saw from the report queue. If anyone wants specifics it's probably best to wait for the person who remove it to comment or if you feel it pertinent contact one of the other mods who have justification over those boards to see if they can shed light on why it was removed.

That's obviously not how it works. Do you really think mods would act on something without confirming it first? Do you think we would ban someone reported for plagiarism without verifying it first? Of course not. Pffrt has had many of his posts reported and deleted including that one you quoted so if that gets removed then all the posts quoting it are no longer relevant so that's likely why yours was removed.
Talking about Cricket related posts Only

Is there a possibility that Mods don't know much about Cricket and they didn't give much thought when deleting Pffrt's posts which he made in Cricketing thread because someone reported good amount of his posts?

My question to all four of you:

How is this off topic, irrelevant, redundant?

If you lot delete a post just because someone reported without checking the contents then whoever it is, you are not doing your job properly. You are just coming online, checking the notifications, pressing the delete button not caring for anything else that let's check if this really worth to delete.

Here is one from my post:

Very mere chance in case of me, because I have 4 points of different with them. I must have to lose every match in that case. Well, it's really now going unpredictable and it can be happen as well.
I like your confidence and your score speaks for that :-P

Enjoy your moments :-)

By the way, I am wondering about tomorrows pick between Australia and England. It's not gonna be easy like today, I mean any team can win tomorrow although I am going for Australia.

Someone has been reporting a lot of posts as unsubstantial/one liners recently so you just got caught up in that and a mod obviously agreed with the report if your post was removed.

Okay, it's not some big deal or I am not upset but is this correct way to delete posts just because someone reported it? I see you and Cyrus is the moderator of that section, I will also include mprep and theymos because mprep is another global moderator and theymos is the admin of course. Except you four I do not see anyone else to delete the post from that section.

A wrong removal of post from a conversation can ruin the meaning of entire conversation.

I hope you lot will give more value of the time the users spend in this forum not just do some irresponsible action just because someone reported it. There a a lot of people who does not have any intention to spam and they are very well aware of the forum rules. For fun, someone can start a quiz to see how well informed some users are about the forum rules.

It's possible a mod is doing some housecleaning in the spammy sections.
Delete spams not genuine posts. If someone is too poor in judgement and not to be able to identify genuine posts and spammy post then they are not fit for the position.

It's definitely not the most constructive/informative post ever, but I personally wouldn't call it spam to be honest.
Your post was deleted because your quoted post was deleted. Did you see my post (you quoted) was anyhow off topic? You suggested something and I was trying to point that was not possible.

I don't think that was the case. I think both our replies got deleted. I don't think my post would automatically get deleted if the post I quoted got deleted. Also, I don't think it's off-topic at all? But whatever I guess. I'm fine with it.

I think it is. I've had some deleted posts also from trying to correct someone's posts and quoting them. I searched the comment I quoted and it was deleted as well. It makes sense to delete both because if not, then other readers will get confused.

On the off-topic, it falls on the mods discretion.

Having your post deleted is normal thing but once a whole a lot is deleted in a day with notifying you, that's when there's a problem. A moderator is meant to delete a shit post not informative post. There's no way about 65 post of yours will be shit post

Is a mod trying to change the direction and emphasis of the forum? It is becoming difficult to find good political discussions that rise above the activities of junior political players, or that discuss topics that do not agree with the mass media reports.

Only one of my recent posts got deleted. Not sure why, as I really didn't find it useless or non-constructive at all. But whatever, it's just one post. The dude who was previously mass reporting plagiarizers probably got bored and has now moved on to reporting low-quality posts lol. 🤷 I ain't complaining though.

This was my post that got deleted for anyone wondering:
...
They can't because bitcoin isn't legal here. Any kind of transactions with any cryptocurrency is banned here. So, you are asking him to accept bitcoin and go jail  Cheesy He would definitely accept cryptocurrency if it was legal here.
I obviously wasn't referring to just accepting Bitcoin. There are other ways to affiliate your business to Bitcoin without actually accepting it.

1. Playing bitcoin-related content on a screen
2. A bitcoin price chart on a screen
3. Hosting bitcoin-related debates/speeches
4. etc

They just need to get a bit creative.
It's definitely not the most constructive/informative post ever, but I personally wouldn't call it spam to be honest.

I thought i was the only one. I also got 65+ deleted in this day alone. Yesterday was 20 more or less. I thought only two things that causes this.

1. Double comments from one topic
2. Almost the same topics that ive commented on both.

My friend also told me that maybe its because its off topic but 90 off topics posts are ridiculous.

In my case yeah, i got this for 1 post, and its no where close to off-topic.

I could have done one trick, other than Royse, no one have much chance. What if I had picked after Royse did? In that way, no chances for Royse as well. Lol, I missed it. I have already picked and locked it as well.

I think you are safe because royse going to mess something up in the end Tongue I didn't locked today's prediction yet, will wait for toss.

Currently Sharma, Rahul and Virat have given a solid start to Indian innings and their middle order is not being tested in this tournament.  Will love to see how Indian middle order handle the pressure if the top order fails.

Last thing India want is, testing their middle order Cheesy Indians can't risk anything atm. top order need to fire up today no matter what lol

Pffrt : It appears to me you got some secret admirer problem here.

May be housecleaning like @Pharmacist mentioned?

Welcome aboard,

I thought i was the only one, My post get deleted too ( 1 in cricket thread), someone deliberately reporting posts in " CWC2019 Prediction Pool "
My deleted posts are from-
1. Bitcoin discussion
2. Gambling Discussion
3. Altcoin Discussion
4. Altcoin Announcement

From thehe above, only posts from altcoin discussion might be approved for deletion. Because,
in ANN- I only posted in 2 threads within the last year. I have only posted there whenever I need to have an update of that coin. On the other hand, many stupid posts were there. Sometimes I had reported as well.
Whoever reported, had reported selectively because the spam posts on the same thread are still there.
Moderator must be more careful, because of their fault(if any), what if my account get banned?

Are you getting PMs when your posts are deleted?  If not, then it's possible that the threads you posted in got deleted.  If a moderator (or someone in a self-modded thread) deletes one of your posts because of a report, you'll get a PM.
Yes, The Pharmacist, I got messages for every post deletion and the OP of that post wasn't deleted.

I've had tons of posts disappear because of threads getting nuked--and also a lot of posts deleted for whatever reason.  62 in 2 days is a hell of a lot though.  Are you posting in sections like Bitcoin/Altcoin Discussion?  It's possible a mod is doing some housecleaning in the spammy sections.
