Presale is live!
This is what I love about bitcoin as a cryptocurrency and buying and selling with it. With fiat, I would have to go through my card details, running the risk of having someone steal my card details and then I will also have to wait for the transaction to go through the bank and be verified before my payment is processed. Also the payment might not be instant too but with bitcoin I don't have to worry about all of this.

So is Lightning Network really works already? coz i know bitcoin has an issue on high transaction fee. But if LN works already then we could see lot of users will use for payments and it will be worthful.
Lightning Network is in beta testing now, so it works but not for the average bitcoin users now. Bitcoin does not have the high transaction fee issue right now, but that does not mean that it cannot happen again in the future. The lightning network will solve a lot of things in connection with the fast and cheap bitcoin transactions, but it's not a kind of holy grail so it's better to learn and read about the LN before it gets implemented on the mainnet.

This might raise people's expectations of Bitcoin and they might be disappointed when they pay directly and they have to wait for confirmations. This transaction was done within Coinbase's internal ledger, and not on the Blockchain, so it does not qualify as a "pure" Bitcoin transaction.

The transaction confirmation times with the Lightning Network might be the solution for this problem, but it is not mainstream yet, so we have to wait a little bit longer.  Cool

It has become faster than before. Though these days some merchants are a bit reluctant to accept BTC coz it’s a bit volatile. Scenario will change soon I think

I always hope it can come true in my country. But until now in my country there are no providers online shopping serve a payment using bitcoin or crypto currency other (because our government prohibits the payment using a  non official currency).

Hi all i just wanted to share my experience recently using bitcoin since the implementation of SegWit, i went online shopping and when i proceeded to the checkout of clothing store Marbek i selected Coinbase as Payment method. I was presently surprised at how fast bitcoin was and how the whole process was overall. https://www.cointrust.com/news/my-online-shopping-exp-with-bitcoin-faster-cheaper-than-visa-paypal
That's definitely a great positive change.Segwit implementation has made it possible.Just few days before, coinbase accepted to use segwit addresses due to huge pressure from its users.Coinbase having a huge user base would definitely help many users to use bitcoins for payments.

I have paid with PayPal many times and I would say that it was faster than Bitcoin. It is convenient but I am aware that PayPal hold all of my money. I have to pay extra for currency conversion and wait a few days in case I want to withdraw my money. Bitcoin is great for large, international transfers of money. Normal wire transfer would take a few days and cost quite a lot when you compare it to Bitcoin where the transaction fee for now is somewhere around 3 cents assuming that you have only 1 input and 2 outputs. I still prefer to use Bitcoin, though.
After reading the post I'm surprised that OP was sending a small amount cause we all know that bitcoin is not suited for a small amount due to higher fee and low confirmation. I might agree with you that paypal is still the faster but the problem is the company holding our money like for 180 days which is so bad. I myself using paypal for sending small amount and it really fast you don't even have to wait for a single confirmation just send it and forget it.

It is great to buy things with bitcoin but many merchants are just negative to accept bitcoin due to its volatility. During the last great price drop from 20k$ to 6k$ many merchants have suffered from huge losses due to the price drop. And that is why the number or merchants have decreased and even huge businesses online have started to decline the use of bitcoin due to their losses.

He already posted a proof. Yet your resisting his piece of evidence for the sake of hating Bitcoin.

Nice article and congratulation for discovering merchant which accept zero-confirmation Smiley
Also, almost-instant transaction confirmation aka zero-confirmation already used/accepted since few years ago even without SegWit.

It's not the merchant doing this.
It was Coinbase because he/she had already an verified account with them.

Of course i know that, but what i mean is the merchant accept zero-confirmation because they use Coinbase (or other payment processor/gateway which let merchant accept zero-confirmation).

Yeah, you put the emphasis on the merchant, I did on the payment processor.
In the end it's indeed the same result as they are collaborating for this.

maybe this is an  opportunity for someone to set up an online payment company that works exactly as PayPal however they use cryptocurrencies rather than fiat. This is bitcoins creating a number of employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.

You're 6 years too late, we already have one and it's called Bitpay.
And what Coinbase is doing with its wallet is basically the same.

It definitely has become faster than earlier. But sometimes, I feel why to use bitcoins to buy stuff. It is better to keep it with you and HODL.

If we all would HODL, nobody would create services accepting bitcoin because nobody is spending BTC.
So nobody will use BTC and it's value will be, guess what, the same as the usage. 0

Unfortunately you didn't not pay directly via BTC.
You used coinbase, which is just as you would have used Visa, a 3rd party service.

So the title should be about Coinbase, Paypal and Visa, not bitcoin.

It's because of the volatility that's why they are so reluctant to accept it as  payment methods and i believe that it is going to be resolved in due time since it's a very new market and maybe some regulation will help with it's volatility as well.

lazada has a humor to accept bitcoin too it was awesome less hassle about cards and less fee
Crypto to be one of the mode of payments in online shopping or buying must be one of the agendas of the developer of cryto currencies since it will be one way for it to be considered as a money and I an hoping that Lazada would go for it. I have read before that Lazada will adapt this payment method and would give discounts to those who would purchase with them thru Bitcoin and this would hopefully come sooner.

The more we can spread this good news the better it will be for the more massive adoption of Bitcoin. Last year, the peak of discouragement for using Bitcoin as a currency came to big reality and I think there were many merchants who left either because of the long time needed for the transactions to go through or just because of anemic sales from customers using Bitcoin. Aside from volatility, the confirmation time needed can be an insult to this very platform. I am happy to know that now things are getting better and hopefully extreme clogging will never be happening again. Viva Bitcoin!

I have not had a chance to use bitcoin for shopping but faster than Visa and Paypal I would have loved to see a video of this done

and how your order was confirmed not only on the payment side of things but from the shops side too Roll Eyes as my last experience with crypto shopping using coinpayments a predefined confirmation count was needed before service was rendered, but if this is your experience bitcoin is making history.
