Okay guys, I bought that new mobo and got the refund for the old broken mobo. The system was assembled by the shop guy in 15 mins and is not running super fast.

Best part is, I didn't need to update the BIOS to support my 8350 processor and the 7950 GPU is running super fast.
 
The windows experience index rating for all components is 7.9 except for the HD which is 5.9 for the Western Digital 2TB. I might upgrade to a 128GB SSD for a faster PC.

Visited the Asus Service center.. what a day! After 4-5 hours of waiting and explaining, they agreed that the display did have a problem. Its BIOS and video output chips are problematic.

But, they agreed only to repairing the board instead of replacing it for a new one. I think i will just get it back from them and get a refund from where I bought it.

What do you think of this board instead?

Hopefully the new board works out better.  I'd ask to have the latest BIOS flashed to it.

If possible, check BIOS is v. 1006. Sometimes it's written directly on the sticker, otherwise borrow one of the following CPUs for v 0311 BIOS:

And upgrade to latest. Try another piece of RAM too, yours is not in the validated list.

I am going to the Asus service center tomorrow to get it replaced. Found out that the problem is with the mobo only, not anything else.

Last advice for now:
Put out the cpu gently and the mobo also.
check for screws tighten enough
then with the cpu out, check the pins (both cpu and mobo slot) VERY carefully for mistakes.

Yes I have done almost all of those steps except a few. Which I will be finally doing tomorrow before taking professional help.

Here is a the manual for my mobo. It says the CPU LED light means that there is something wrong with the CPU (it means processor right? and not the mobo itself?)

See this guide and tell us what of them happend to you. Double check the part for correct c[u installation to the slot for juged pins.

The red light could just mean that the CPU has power from the 8 pin connector.

I will read the manual and tell what it means. I have a feeling it doesn't mean somehting good.

If you have another GPU any type, put it to the slot to see if the screen opens. If not its mobo configuration.
If it's open then maybe the GPU needs configuration.

I don't know what kind of GPUs this mobo supports. I couldn't find the list of compatible GPUs.

are you sure you put the 8pin/6pin from PSU to mobo? there is a psu-mobo (forgot its name lol) cable plus the 8/6 pin cable from psu to mobo... it's somewhere next to CPU...

Yes I have connected both the 8pin connector and the 24 pin connector to the mobo. I kinda have a feeling that it is the GPU problem because many people have had bad GPUs delivered to them from newegg and amazon. Especially the 7950s.

No it was my first time starting the system. It hasn't booted once.

I will check for the grounding issue.

is this on a case or no case?

I think it is ground problem

Usually mobos like asus has some safety features that won't let it start if there is some ground or metal sticking into something..

check for screws underneath the mobo...


Yes it is in a Cooler Master HAF XM case. What should I look for?

I have a little speaker thing attached to where it shows in the manual image you posted, but it doesn't beep at all.

Once I tried running the system without any GPU, and it beeped signalling a hardware was missing. BUt, now I have the GPU plugged in and connected but now the speaker thing doesn't beep at all. But the computer doesn't show anything either Sad

I have only 1 GPU right now. Maybe that is DOA? Should I try using that GPU in another pc to see if it works?
