This is exactly what am about to propose, maybe you guyz can help relating it with the moderator or any appropriate channel to make it sticky on reputation.
I don't think it's necessary. We have seen threads like this and they are thriving. The Known Alts, report plagiarism etc. Users just need to understand that it has been created for good cause. For first few weeks, when I get time I will regularly bump the thread. We all can continue bumping it to keep it at the topic after each 24 hours.

Except you're ready to start policing users on that.
I would say this is not the right word. We can only encourage them rest is on their end if they want to co-operate.

It is desirable to have all of these rank-up or merit milestone posts in one thread, but unless the one thread is stickied to the first page of Reputation, it's very unlikely people are going to look for it even if they know it exists--and I doubt there's a chance the Reputation mod is going to sticky BitcoinGirl.Club's thread.
The Pharmacist, I will support the effort and will also support if the mod will stickied the thread first page of Reputation. This is because I think it will be more organized. Besides that, we can also give awards to anyone for their achievements with congratulations. But maybe after some suggestions and input like that then the number of celebration thread will decrease slowly.

Hello brother!
In case you have not noticed the recent discussion on his board about where to get most of it from this type of topics. Now we have a dedicated thread for it. Please check this: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/announce-your-rank-up-merit-or-any-achievements-that-makes-you-feel-great-5391471
Except you're ready to start policing users on that. Otherwise I don't see people complying with that. Some may not even know there's such a thread even months after you've said it. It won't be as if users are going to intentionally ignore you; it may be because many a poster don't really take pleasure reading and are likely to miss such thread. The easiest way to achieve this single thread for self glory and show of gratitude would be to create a mini or sub board for it. That way, those who don't like it can easily ignore that board. Definitely, I know there are many users here who are angered by these self congratulatory posts. I don't have an issue with that. If anything, I like reading them. I also have written such too.

Early last year I proposed the same idea of a celebratory thread, but unfortunately my idea didn't get much support so I had to lock the thread. Honestly I didn't mind when a lot of people disagreed at the time, but maybe some opinions started to be accepted after some time especially when BitcoinGirl.Club stated his opinion.

Celebrate your rank up here [Junior Member - Legendary]

I just want to know, is it time for me to open that thread again and give the first chance to those who want to celebrate?

Keep in mind that nobody ever made celebration threads prior to the merit system--or if they did, I sure as hell can't remember them.
As a new user on the forum since 2020, I don't know much about how ranking celebrations were done before, but I am aware that there have been several such celebration thread so far and I also have one of them. But that's just my little note to remember the forum journey and I don't expect people to take it seriously even send me merit for it.

You're right because some will know the right thing but will still intentionally act weird, but since their main intention is probably for getting merit i trust the community they won't applaud such person with a single, just as in the case of this one.

The Pharmacist, However keeping it more organized in a single thread might be desirable, but in reality it can still be ignored by some users. Some users will surely think that threads like this are an attempt to gain more merit, that may be true but it's still possible for us to not know what the OP's real intentions were other than being very happy with it achievement.

And as I mentioned in another thread I can't read anyone else's mind either, so I don't really know for sure who's trawling for merits.  But I've seen enough of that behavior over the years to know that there's a good chance it's happening when people create threads like this one.

I'm almost tempted to paint the next few guys red just to stop the people from making these threads.

STOP WITH THESE DAMN THREADS
LOL.  If I were in a lousy mood, that's probably how I would have worded my post instead of the more temperate approach I chose.

In any case, as far as this thread goes, I have a feeling that it's not going to be utilized the way OP wants it to.  But we'll see.
....and it didn't take long for someone to create their own horn-tooting thread, completely ignoring BitcoinGirl.Club's attempt to consolidate them.  And I don't expect adoption of that thread to pick up, no matter how many reminders he/she gives, because I'm convinced OP and members who write stuff like this:

congratulations to me
Well, they're just hoping someone will merit their post.  Me, I rarely go for that unless I'm familiar with the member and/or have helped them out.  Apparently I gave Zilon some merits, but I can't say he's made much of an impression on me.  Zilon, I do wish you well and props on making it to Sr. Member from Newbie in the era of merits.  That's not easy for anyone to do.
I'm almost tempted to paint the next few guys red just to stop the people from making these threads. If it wasn't a blatant misuse of the trust system it would have been done already. Seems the only way to get a point across is to get a little crazy though.

STOP WITH THESE DAMN THREADS

I can still assume a positive attitude towards the OP's efforts, it's a normal reaction from users after successfully reaching a certain rank once this merit system is implemented and I think one can ignore it from a special award for a series of celebrations like this. But of course it would be great if the advice from BitcoinGirl.Club was adopted.

@BitcoinGirl.Club hope your thread is as useful as you want it to be.
I made a prediction in that thread about how members are going to use it:

I think everyone have the right to create it's own celebration of ranking up thread, if the user is not interested to flow along sides general thread of ranking up, so let me recapitulate by using this medium congratulate op for ranking up to another position, keep it up and continue to be making good impact to the community, but never fail to adhere to the advice of others, especially existing members of the community before your arrivers.
indeed everyone has the right to make a thread about his achievements. but if in one week 10 people rank up and make their thread on the reputation board, it will look pretty messed up (though not all will publish their achievements).
I agree more with @BitcoinGirl.Club regarding the thread being created. all gathered in one place. looks neater and can be a separate motivation for lower rankings.

@BitcoinGirl.Club hope your thread is as useful as you want it to be.
@OP, congratulations on the achievement.

Knowledge is one factor that keeps a scholar in a perpetual cycle of research and findings. I have tried keeping up to quality but at times it looks like a bunch of imperfection. But one thing that has always kept me going is the saying "fake it until you make it" and another which says "Keep moving until you get there". I might not have arrived at my desired understanding about how the crypto cycle work but one thing that brings me joy is the fact i keep adding to what i used to know no matter how slow it seems to pump in.

I have made a better study calendar to keep up to my new rank and wahoo it will be awesome and mind blowing this time, more engaging topics, good discussion replies and wonderful feed backs on quality jobs. I think it's not just enough ranking up. Keeping up to the knowledge that is expect from the new rank is also a necessity and that i will live up to. Hero member in view on a short goal term..

congratulations to me
