Personally, I don't like to invest in projects that have too low of a market cap. It's just way too difficult for it to make the jump from a low cap coin to even a mid-cap coin, let alone make it into the top 100 when competition is this fierce these days. Unless the coin is community based.

If I could make 3 picks, I would go for:

1. XMR
2. IOSToken
3. EOS

You can probably tell, these are all quite large coins in terms of market cap. But these I believe still have room for growth in the long run, especially IOSToken and EOS since main net hasn't launched yet.

My 3 big picks are ARK, Iconomi and Rentberry here's why:

ARK: Ark is a blockchain that will bridge all other chains. They have a solid blockchain developers team who are active on github and who are clearly pushing through goals within their roadmap at a good speed. They are dpos so if anyone votes with their ARK they receive free ARK just for holding. Ark has a great community and is always adding to it. http://ark.io

Iconomi: Iconomi is more like a security coin because each coin is representative as a piece of the company. They are a crypto hedge fund with baskets of various coins being held in their platform which users can purchase on their exchange. Iconomi also burns their total supply with a portion of their profits, so there will be less and less coins in existence. http://iconomi.com

Rentberry: Rentberry is the best utility token of 2018 because it gives you access to an entire ecosystem within a platform that already is a working product. Their token is way undervalued right now at only .05. This one shows the biggest opportunity for growth because of the team, the token use, and the way they will helping to unfreeze $500 billion of security deposit assets across the globe. This company really is positioning itself to be a disruptive innovator in the giant real estate market. The Rentberry team is active in telegram as well as in their user support. http://rentberry.com

1. Iota - great support from the industry. Some advantages against Blockchain and DAG, e. g. no fee for transactions

2. Modum, real usecase for the logistics industry. First partner: Swiss post

3. Waves, the real better Ethereum
As for waves - they have slow and lazy team, almost nobody uses their service.
Do you remember any successful ICO on Waves (except Wagerr)? I don't
I've bought also Oceanlab, and in the last days was the ICO from paytomat. i was too late to got some Tokens. Waves is a hidden champion. The question is, they use their potential?
And i'm absolutely longterm-oriented.

NEO - Safe bet
Neblio - Medium risk
Blockport - Medium/High risk

Those are my 3 biggest bags, got a bit more going on than those 3 but I guess that's where my confidence is strongest for good returns, I'm taking a bit of a risk with the amount of Blockport I'm holding but I'm almost sure this will do 10x satoshi value this year.

They all look like good projects BUT I can't really get bullish on IOTA that is already 6BN marketcap...I mean where does it have to go?

Yeah maybe on Waves but again its not cheap.

Modum I will have a look at....

To be bullish and make huge gains you really need a project under 100m MC.

I agree with you there on IOTA. Allot of coins have already amassed huge huge market caps. In order to see the gains people are wanting they would have to reach near bitcoin levels of market capitalisation!

BTW its agony looking at IOTA cause I planned to buy in on the ICO but somehow it drifted past me without me realizing it.  Cry

Iota seems good on paper but still have a lot of trouble delivering things that they promised
Agree with you on modum its one of my favorite small caps coins that made me nice profit Grin
People keep saying that about waves but still so far no real progress on it or work that can be seen, not to mention that no one uses their platform for icos or their new dex 2.0

You can call it shilling but I believe in them so really its just wanting to talk and spread the word about stuff im into and think will make great gains. I hate the word shilling cause by definition it means promoting stuff you don't believe in....anyway that aside.

1. LUXcore   I only discovered this recently but its going to be huge. Privacy coin with just about everything, smart contracts, super easy staking within a web wallet , parrallel master nodes. John Mcaffee recently came on as advisor. Yeah I know some crypto clean boys love hate on him but his backing means a lot especially if the coin is only worth 20m mc. Its also got a ton of rock star developers onboard now including the guy who made CCminer! With all the backing and buzz I expect a top tier exchange pretty soon.

2. Devery. I love Vechain but this is again a tiny Marketcap, 20m. It does all Vechain does but I think its better set up to take the mass consumer market. Vechain seems very robust for Industrial and specialised markets but devery can work with or without RFID and seems a solution that any website or company can use to track and vouch for any product from a luxury one to a pair of sneakers. The team have moved to Asia to connect with Business there and already have a contract with the UN! I expect again to see a big top tier exchange in the coming months as its already getting decent volume and its only on IDEX.

3. Xtrabytes. This is such a unique project. There is nothing I have every seen in crypto like XBY. They are applying for patents for a completely new way to do a blockchain. Seems along the lines of Hashgraph but public. More secure than other chains instead of relying on DPOS like EOS it has static nodes that all have to sign blocks. Scalable due to a virtual layer with developers saying 10k tps will be no problem and secure which other chains like EOS seem dodgy on with its delegated system. Lots to love like nodes earn from DAPPS deployed on the platform which also means a sharp drop in supply when they come online. It should all kick off for XBY in the coming weeks and months.

These are my core holdings along with some fiat and BTC.

Give me your 3 big picks.

1. Genesis Vision
2. Polymath
3. Dock.io

Other successful but lesser known ICO on waves includes Oceanlab, ZrCoin, and Starta.
And Waves is not lazy, thy just lack a good PR department for churning out hype

I did not know mush about those coins but I will try and do some research on them to find out if it worth invest in. Many traders has been come out with the list of coins or token they thought will give them profits in future but two coins I have invest in and I am impressed on the development so far: iost and tron. I have taken some profits of recent and I have recovered my capital.

3) waves, the real Ethereum? You are not right my friend, you need to stop using drugs, otherwise you will end up buying PepeCoin thinking that it was Bitcoin..

Came on, how can you say that waves is the real ethereum? It makes no sense.

To Waves, I would suggest do your own research. Waves NG has high potential to beat Ethereum. You remember the situation with the new cryptokitties Wink?

In my opinion, it is better to make your own research and trust your guts.
I was asking myself what to do when cryptocurrency goes down and found out that the most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.

The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

I recently found one project called Ethereum Meta, it is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place.

They are on exchanges right now, you can check their website: https://ethermeta.com/
Or even better go through their Bitcointalk thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/future-of-privacy-ethereum-meta-foundation-of-anonymous-e-marketplace-2659058

Nah, just think about it like that: Iota is currently at a market cap of only $6 billion USD. Yes, only.
The number of IoT connected devices is currently at 23.14 billion. 2025 it will be at approx. 75.44 billion. Yep, looked it up.
IF Iota manages to somehow be the one currency that is used for M2M payments, this what we have a the moment is a joke.
Revenue for M2M payments in 2020 is forecasted to be at approx. $65 billion USD and growing. In 2025? No idea, probably much much more.

Yeah, so still a few years to go but if they succeed, this could be one of the biggest things ever. I mean people still buy Bitcoin although it is already huge, right?
