I've reported this to his hosting provider and the page has been taken down now.

On the page, only thing that was changed were links to the rest of my website and donations address. So far nobody did, but people, don't give this guy money.

My gadget is open source and I've got nothing against somebody building something on top of it or learning from it, but this is very shady.

Original author of MyBitcoins gadget (http://domchi.cc/mybitcoins/) here.

This page and "gadget" are FAKE.

This page and text from original post is copy&paste from my gadget, and the file that he wants you to download is .exe instead of .gadget file. Windows gadgets don't use .exe files, .gadget is zip file with html and js files inside.

The only reason for .exe file is to deliver some sort of payload to your computer. If you've installed this gadget, check your computer for viruses/trojans. If you're interested in gadget, make sure you download it from http://domchi.cc/mybitcoins/ and check the original thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=38450.0;all for verification.

http://mybitcoinsgadget.esy.es/ is an almost exact copy of http://domchi.cc/mybitcoins/

http://domchi.cc/mybitcoins/ is the original creator of this Windows-gadget.
See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=38450.120 for more info on the original Windows-gadget.

In other words: Don't trust http://mybitcoinsgadget.esy.es/ !!!

Unfortunately the original Windows-gadget no longer seems to function on my pc.

I do not use AppZ to do this anyways. {More than enough webpages, doing these kind of calculations}

But, Yes... Installing proggies without source code, are very risky.

I will pass this one.  Sad

I highly recommend everyone to not download this program. Why?
  • A newbie account posted it
  • The only positive response is from a newbie account
  • The scans from virustotal show it's highly suspicious

Download this at your own risk (you are stupid if you do Roll Eyes).

If the trojan has been made FUD by hand, this scans are not of value.

I don't know what is exactly , check yourself the file .rar and scan it on https://www.virustotal.com   Wink .

No, only install.

You are at risk of running a wallet stealer / malware when installing executables without having the source code. Take EXTREME CAUTION !
There are some tools to  do binary analysis using a hex editor, and inspect it. Also dll analysis is possible.
But by not doing either, you are at risk indeed.

This link of redsn0w shows it may be dangerous https://www.virustotal.com/it/file/fda598b106ec55d62251000127bbdc26d1ff2b88e0b876e91286d06a6b45ad20/analysis/1410601030/
