Honestly, the "double slider" seems like an unnecessary complication... What's wrong with having the 4 "presets" + one labelled "custom"... Clicking the button to cycle through the presets automatically populates a text box with the "dynamic" fee... "Custom" makes the text box editable and the user can manually edit the fee rate in sats/byte...

It's such a simple feature and one the people have been requesting for ages... So, naturally, they completely ignored everyone and put in the fancy double slider, that offers some "coarse grained" control over the fee Roll Eyes
I thought I am the only one thinking about this. This is true. I think they care about idiot users. They might here and they might there. Here is my suggestion: by default, the "custom" is disabled and in settings you can enable it with a warning (painted in red for dramatic emphasis). I guess this is enough to be idiot proof.

Most of the bad review seem to be from people who don't know how bitcoin works.
For example, one gave 1 star commenting with
I don't see any option that you can pay 1 sat/byte where honestly you see this option?
Under "low prio" i have the option to choose between 0, 10 and 21 sat/byte fee.

Yep. You can't really trust or rely on those reviews. Some of those reviews are quiet dumb. Despite of all of this, I still continue using Mycelium.
I  think its just competitors strategy they are just taking down mycelium i personally use mycelium for a month ago and until now its fine also updated my mycelium to new version which is you can slide how much fee you wanted to pay.. unlike before you can only choose fixed fee normal priorty economic or slow..
Right now with new version i think you can choose ever 1 sat per byte.. but still not tested yet..
Maybe those who are commented are who experience in their wallet that i think the problem about there android phone is the version or low end phone this is i think the main problem about reviewers  who use mycelium..

It would be helpful if they added SegWit address generation.

A noble idea... But good luck with that. Go read the "beginners and help" section of you want to get an idea of the "lowest common denominator" when dealing with crypto. Undecided

All the information is freely available, but it's the same things over and over... And people who simply cannot grasp that the fees are NOT charged/collected by the wallet... But required to get miner's to include your transaction in a block. The number of "which wallet has the lowest fees?" threads is proof that people just don't "get it". Undecided

Too many folks just don't want to take 5 minutes out of their life to read and educate themselves... But will then spend hours whining about how Bitcoin is isn't ready for the mainstream and is too complicated and "technical" when they screw something up and lose coins or transactions get stuck.

Most negative feedbacks written in there are because of their fee recommendation which they think was too high. It's only normal for them to recommend thatamount of fee since the blockchain was congested. I think most feedbacks from there are just not aware of that. I've been using mycelium foralmost 4 years now and I haven't encountered a single problem in it. It's safe and it's working properly but don't take my word for it. You should find a better wallet if you can't trust mycelium.
I think most of this could be avoided simply by educating users properly. Fees are not based on wallets but a part of the Bitcoin network.

I still don't understand why they don't just create a text box that you can simply type the fee into Roll Eyes

This is the feature that I'm waiting for which people can type manually for the fee, since the miner fee slider almost already have the numbers for fee and it seems too annoying sometimes from picking the exact fee. However I'm still using them they still the best wallet for me after all.
Yeah there is that feature and also the feature to send custom transactions to multiple address to at once, these are the features I am waiting for a long time. At least the fee slider is something better than nothing.

I think you can request this directly to mycelium support for future feature.. I was looking for wallet the same as mycelium that can manually enter fee but i couldn't trust any because of some reviews and other wallet are not well known to use for smart phone..
I stay using mycelium because this is trusted wallet even you are just using the dynamic fee but hope  they could change or added the feature manual fee because most of the bitcoin users are looking for bitcoin wallet that they can fully control their miners fee..

If you're on the latest version, just play with the two sliders... slide the top one all the way to the left (Low Priority)... then slide the bottom one all the way to the left (will probably say 0 sat/byte)... the 2nd from the left isn't tooo bad (9 sat/byte when writing this)...

Have a play with the sliders to find the fee you want.

Base on  what i experience in mycelium they are not asking for higher fee you have an option to choose if you wanted to pay for low fee  you need to choose low priority or economic but the speed is already caculated around  3  to 2 hours or if you wanted to default or high priority i still satisfied what the price fee given to me its not the same as fee before but now i think they already change the miners..
it  will depends in you what miners fee you wanted to  pay.. if you don't wanted to send high miners fee just choose the low priory or economic so that you can pay low..

Generally users like me not interested in android wallet but not know any one say  Myceliums is scam most of them give it -1 Because fee or new update
i give them -1 Because no support and high fee
What do you mean with high fee? You can choose your own fee, and it can be as low as 1 sat/byte.

About support, you are right that it's pratically nonexistent. But there is a community to help you in case something goes wrong, and there is not much a dev can do to help you if you make a mistake on your own.

They might be true, app problems do exist to random users. Most members here in the forum have good experiences and recommend this mobile wallet but I rarely use it (maybe twice or so, I'm more of using my desktop wallet). Recent reviews are really bothersome though especially those concerns about lost balances. Anyway, you should decide for yourself.
