MEW has NO Telegram, Discord, or WhatsApp. You can check updates in their Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, or Medium accounts (links can be found at the bottom of the official MEW site).

Good news. And what functions will be in this application? Will you always need to use a private key to log in? Or will the entrance be one-time?
No one knows yet about the function and features of the app. I'll update you guys here when MEW Team discloses any information about it.

smartphone users are very numerous and everyone wants something easy they can do just by phone. many people use jaxx, coinomi and other mobile versions of the wallet, I think MEW must have a mobile app, because mobile apps are needed and become favorites by everyone.

These are the reasons why people who are involved in Crypto should take necessary steps to stop these kind of hacks and study further ways to protect themselves. It should be on top of the mind of people who'll gonna use this apps that they are the primary targets of these hackers. I know someone's willing to create an article on how to avoid it so that those who are not well-versed in this kind of stuff will be educated.

We cannot stop developments regarding crypto-related apps just because it can be hacked. The number of hack attempts on computers are no different with those mobile phones. Awareness is the key here.
We can't expect all the crypto users going to be a good knowledged person to save themselves from hacks, but I hope in future the people will get update themselves to use the technology safely. But I don't agree that computers and the mobiles were same in the hacks because the mobiles were pretty much easier for to hack even a third party app creator have all the access to your system that is why I am sacerd.Maybe the android playstore need to only allow the well trusted apps to save ourselves.
Tech savvy or not, every user should verify each app before installing it. Searching doesn't require deep knowledge. Anyway, let's not go farther, discussion about phone hacks, though related to crypto app is a bit off topic already.

Buy The F*cking Dip
I am scared that phishing will be a big problem if there is mobile version for MEW since we can hack an android very easy when compared to desktop so more people will get phished through mobile version but it will be very convenint for the users who knows how to keep safe their mobile from hackers.
If you have the official app on your phone, you can avoid being phished. It's different when you are visiting a website because typing the URL yourself or clicking a direct link could direct you to a fake one.

Phones are rarely getting hacked afaik, and it's most likely depends on how you use it. Some ways to prevent it:
* Just put a password on your phone
* Don't install random apps
* Don't trust direct links esp. if you didn't know the sender, verify first
* Don't connect to free WiFi Networks

On the other hand, losing your phone is a different story. Let's see what security feature will MEW team add in the app.
Phones were getting hacked rarely but if they want to they can do it with ease by even sending a hack link through email. If adroid becomes the storage place of more cryptos then there will be lot of scam teams will create apps which have certain permission to steal all the details needed to login to our wallet but most of the android users were not aware of these permissions so they can get hacked.

Waiting for the official release of myetherwallet for their mobile app. Why they only do this now if they can create it earlier to avoid the massive existence of those MEW phishing links.
Let's look on the brighter side, that at least they already started to make the app Smiley
Yes!

They have made something at least and they are providing a continuous update and upgrade for their wallet. Unlike other wallets, they never do something like this. The interaction between the concern of the community is important so I guess it reached them out and this is the possible solution that they are thinking.

Keep us updated.

cool . at first sight i think this was fake but until i open the thread i see that the screenshot was actually from the real site of mew . so i was impressed and thankful at the same time because i can now enjoy mew on the go without the hassel of being logged out .  i think the app version is much more safer when compared to web version as long as we are donwloading the app from a trusted source like playstore and app store  .

If there's an official app, its stronger than desktop. I don't know how can people be victimized by a phishing version of a MEW mobile app. We just have to wait for their update for the final and official release.

Wow! It's amazing! Personally for me it will be the best solution, because the mobile application will be much more convenient than the site. By the way, what about security? How will you enter the wallet? Are there any screenshots?
There's no preview of the app yet. I'll update here once they have an update like that or something about the date of launch.

All of you mentioned about convenience, it became redundant, but that's really true. Me, personally, first thought that as long as you have the official app, you will be less bothered about phishing. It's the main concern lately, tbh until now, and I think a mobile app would be a big help.
