I worked out the answers thanks to user fedoracoin, 1680 million coins mined is right for 40 years of mining + 170 million premine which means +-1850 million coins in 40 years for total supply of coins.
After that point transaction fees will be rewards for miners. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I worked this out earlier.
840 million 4 years
+ 420 million 8 years
+ 210 + premine for 12 years total is 1640 million
+ 105 @ 16 years Exceeds total before 16 years with 1745 million
Expected total is reached between year 13 to 14.

Reward halving is approx every 4 years.
at block 840 000 * 1000 reward is 840 million coins in 4 years. Then for every 4 years you divide supply earned by 2.
0- 4 years 840million
4-8 years 420million
8-12 years 210million
Add 12 years of mining with premine and you get 1640 million coins, then 40 million more coins to be mined out until 1680 million coins
Front page says 1680 million coins mined which works out to 40 years of mined coins excluding premine.
