Added ipv6 support !

Server is now usable with :
- ipv4 : 178.32.31.41
- ipv6 : 2001:41d0:2:a5d9::101

If you use the ipv6 as nameserver, let me now if it works or not :p

A stupid update to get more than 500 domains (default in name_scan )...

If you don't find your new domain in name_scan, use 'name_scan "" 10000' (to list up to 10000 domains).
If you configured your new domain the right way, and my DNS server does not reply an ip for it, this should now work :p

Aren't virtual hosts just used if you have multiple domains that go to different directories? If you don't set up virtual hosts, shouldn't it  default to /var/www  directory?
Yes.

So, I'm trying to figure out how to host a .bit domain on my server. When I try mapping the domain directly to my server ip, and then try to  access the domain from a webbrowser, I still get "Server not found." Do I have to add the ip for this dns server to my server to host .bit domains?
You need to also set up your webserver to have the correct domain (including the .bit) as a virtual host to serve the pages to clients requesting via that Host name. There can also be issues with transparent proxies run by your ISP. An ISP at one location where I am refuses to serve up .bit domains as they sniff the HTTP traffic and do DNS lookups on the Host: line in the HTTP headers. This fails and the request dies.

gsan reports me that this ip was blocks for some of his servers... so, the problem shouldn't by on your side.
I guess i'll need to use another ip...

Update : added a second domain name for namecoin.bitcoin-contact.org : http://opennic.bit/

I seem to just timeout when trying to connect there, but I got tester.bit and darts.bit to work fine.  So is it a problem with the site or is my configuration off somewhere?, don't see why that name would be different.

Use 'make' instead of 'make -f makefile.xxx'.
Then you'll need to configure a diffrent RPC port in the config file (in ~/.namecoin/bitcoin.conf), and set a password too.

There is some people asking on how to register domains, so i've added some instructions on the page : http://namecoin.bitcoin-contact.org/#reg
One solution is to mine, the other is to buy namecoins with bitcoins, so, i've added the two namecoins sellers : dmp1ce & grue (ask me if you want to be added).

no to the gold cult  :
The whole thread is here : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/announce-namecoin-a-distributed-naming-system-based-on-bitcoin-6017
But i don't know if you'll find what you want.
Edit : here it is : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.95517
