Disgusting contest really if you think about it watching adults shove hotdogs and watered down bread buns in their faces for the thrill of victory and fame.
But as since this is the 4th of July tradition for some of you I am glad you were able to enjoy this event and hopefully you yanks made some BITCOIN.

Well, it could have been more disgusting and involved corndogs. I read on the internet that many people outside the US do not understand what the appeal is with the things. I happen to agree. Every time I eat a corndog, I am rather disappointed. I suppose that it would be really dangerous to have an eating contest involving corndogs. That stick could do all kinds of nasty things to someone's throat.

Just look competition video. Its a mix of something disgusting with elements of hardcore porn  Grin
Do they even chew or just swallon all the food ?

On the right of Chestnut was eating Matt Stonie, lol. Recognize this guy from his youtube channel, where he makes crazy challenges.
Last one was eating 48 popsicles. Crazy... Crazy what people do for money.

I'm kinda disappointed in alot of businesses like this that dont accept BTC because their item sales are a little too small perhaps.   All they have to do is offer a kind of gift card setup for BTC or ideally allow a credit account that gets cleared every month in exchange for BTC at that month end.   Then you have a large enough transaction and an encouragement for customers to come in and use the wealth they have.
I guess its just not giving enough demand, BTC is ideally suited towards digital products but still I dont see its a big deal to have the option of clearing a balance owed on an account with crypto.

Is the bet off if they fail to keep the contents completely in their stomach
Well it's because bitcoin is not yet tht accepted by all people we are in the fact that yes we accept it but we can't control thr mind of others. So, let's still go with what they wanted. Actually hot dog contest is nice so they can do it and do the proper things in the restaurant. Well yes it's because btc is destined to use in digital products as you say so.
I don't agree with that, at least they can still give the opportunity to those who are already believers of cryptocurrency, we still have many people that loves gambling, and are already exposed to cryptocurrency already, the population of bitcoin community is so high that I can at least guarantee you of 40% of them being a gambler.

Moreover, awareness of bitcoin payment will not just come without us helping to promote it, I don’t know why they did not introduce bitcoin payment to the game when they know that these are the type of activities we need to still expose people to the world of cryptocurrency. The hot dog contest may be nice, but provided there is no crypto payment involved, I would rather just stick my ass to games that are cryptocurrency friendly, and I don’t have countries to participate in this one.

Bitcoin is not just limited to digital products, the wallets we install in our phones actually could be used to pay someone you met in the streets. You can scan QR code and send BTC. I'm sure you don't have to do open your laptop for that. If cloudbet in a way promotes their contest, the least they can do is accept BTC.

There are post in the forum about starbucks and some burger king branches accepting btc, fastfood restaurant should look into that.
We just need to be a little bit more patient. With Spedn and "Bakkt pay" we'll be able to pay instantly in btc in fastfood restaurants with almost 0 fees soon.
More over LN is quietly growing.

But there is some restaurant already that accept btc and I think there is no fee.

Anyone thinking of making a little bet on this year's competition? Obviously Joey Chestnut and Miki Sudo are the clear favourites to defend their respective titles, but there's plenty of value to find in the over/under total hotdog markets!  Tongue

Lol, we love that you provide rare markets that other casinos don't even think to cover, giving the people what they want is an admirable trait.

Doesn't appear to be any outright markets open right now, when will these even be added?

I wonder if Chestnut is going to compete this year, the guy is a damn beast.

I really like Matt Stonie to really win in that shot on the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, Well because I am a follower on his Youtube Channel and seeing him eating so much on his channel and being a Former Champion on 2015 in the same hotdog contest and Upsetting Chestnut that time, But the pace is really different now And Joey Chestnut had become a monster in eating now and because he is fully ready both Physically and Mentally in this kind of contest, And Right now he is really in the top of the eating championship, I hadn't had a chance to make a bet in this but because I got a support for Matt Stonie then it will not be unpleasant because I will surely lose this bet.

More than a tad short for Chestnut and way, way way under for Sudo as it turns out haha. 71 dogs for the boy (3 shy) and 31 for the gal (6 short!!), I think the bookies lost a bit on this one as punters all expected this (and Sudo gave it away too haha).

They both win also short of a Bitcoin each =p

Commenting on the men's, if we're seeing records being created pretty much every year with annual averages rising, I think it's only fair to assume people will get better at wolfing down dogs with speed. Given this, I'd back an Over (for a new record) but not at the current odds... it's actually 1.98 for under now, so seems people are expecting a new record. I'd back the new record every year and double down on losing bets for the next year =p Martingale hot dogging;)

I actually have heard of and seen Miki Sudo in action. She's that famous.

The day is finally here - Happy 4th July to our American friends! (sorry we still don't accept US players though Wink)

I'll be tucking into a foot-long at the office in your honour 🌭

Now on to the main event!

The 'weigh-ins' happened yesterday:

Plus a nice head-to-head photo shoot with the Reigning champion Joey Chestnut and main contender Matt Stonie:

Stonie is the only man in the past 10 years that's managed to topple Chestnut from his throne, ending an 8 year winning streak with a surprise victory in 2015.

Thinking of betting on the event this year?

Here's some insights taken from my predictions on the blog:

The men’s winner has averaged 65.3 ‘dogs over the last 10 years, but it’s worth noting that the totals have slowly risen over time, culminating in last year’s world record breaking 74 HDB. This year the over/under market is currently at 73.5 (just 0.5 under the current record) so it essentially comes down to a simple question - will we see another record this year?

Back Under 73.5 at (1.71)

For the women the average is substantially lower at ‘just’ 38.7, and with our over/under sitting at 38.5 it makes for an interesting bet. In Miki Sudo’s last 5 wins she has only gone over 38.5 HDB once in 2017, so the signs point to ‘under’ being the smart bet.

Back Under 38.5 (1.86)

Lol, I am imagining now how funny it is if I am going to watch that event, and yeah that was an exotic event that I never heard. I don't how many hotdogs I can consume in just 10 mins. Thank's Cloudbet for bringing up here, maybe if there is an event here in my country I will try this one and I'm sure this is very funny to execute.

There's a bet now button, maybe I will trying to gamble later on. July 4th will be on tomorrow and that is near close, I am now reading the entire article.

Bitcoin FTW!
I used to frequent the East coast of the United States and I went down to the Nathan's hot dog location mentioned here once or twice, loved the hot dogs though I still don't eat them very often to this day. I have participated in a few eating contests in the US before as well, never did too well but it's very uniquely different and enjoyable compared to the many other things you can do in the US.

Glad you guys are switching things up a bit and offering more events to bet on, though- most sportsbooks stick to the normal bunch of events and don't expand much. Never watched ESPN much myself but it's interesting that they're going to be showing this on their platform.

It's not the first time I hear an eating contest but I didn't know that you could now bet on it, or there is a bet happening. (Maybe I'm not that exposed yet with certain gambling types in different places, people and country lol) I only see this on the TV and there's nothing that I know of that event like this happens in my country. Anyway, It's a great way to utilize if you really like gambling.

When I read the article published by Cloudbet, I saw some interesting things like the Hotdog Eating Techniques. I didn't know that there are tricks in eating or didn't think about it until now.  Grin.  Maybe Joey Chestnut (has 11 wins according to the article) has the best technique. Probably going to bet with him if ever I will participate in gambling.

Is there a way to implement their techniques in real life? Lol

These kind of contests are well known in USA,when I was working there for a few months in one of the neighbor bar in Ohio they often organized this kind of contest.

I never seen bookmakers offer bets for this but now I wonder how do they place odds for auch event because you really can't predict a human stomach behaviour but maybe the bookmakers do it for marketing to their casino.

Slava Ukraini!
I heard about this competition in past, but had no idea that bookmakers might offer to bet on this event Cheesy. Odds for the winners is too low, so maybe I will bet on hot dogs eaten under/over lol.
For anyone posting that's not just here to farm signature campaign posts, you can stream the Women's on ESPN3 or the app and the Men's on ESPN2.
Would be interesting to watch, but probably it won't be available outside the US :/
