I also assumed it was an exchange or another sort of company changing wallets to ensure the security or something like that, but since you're claiming it's Bittrex, proof would be nice. Anyway, I've googled it and I think I've found it, so I'm attaching it here: https://cointelegraph.com/news/almost-9-billion-of-bitcoin-moved-on-chain-in-1-hour-record.
I don't think that whale alert makes sense, most of the time it turns out to be a technical operation... I don't even believe that there are 'whales' that can manipulate the market significantly, it's just a chain reaction with separate entities most of the time we see the price changing.
I'd be scared if it was a personal holding  Shocked $10 billion it must be corporate funds. satoshi himself own 1 million bitcoin worth 7.523.610.000 around 7.5 billion , who else holding more than 1 million bitcoin? i don't think anybody does have it in their personal wallet.
this is just an ordinary funds transfer , end of story.
some people taking advantage on this by linking to how the fund prepared for market dump, that is just random.
It definitely can't be a personal holding but the topic used by the OP is misleading cause after i go through the transaction and the Bitcoin sent to the address mentioned was ~ $414Million not $10Billion. However, the coins could belong to the exchange in subject .
That is what i mean , this kind sentiment always been exaggerated.

when the original article says it was $414million approx but then someone quoted it in the wrong way -intentionally or not that will not make any difference- as the sentiment like this very easy to spread mouth by mouth.
and guess what next happened? let the chaos begin, the FUD start to pop up in the main discussion.

yeah sometimes this used for making FUD, often. i get used to this and pretty simple to deal with it, ignore any of these news & speculations .
it has zero value but an entertainment to see that outstanding numbers being discussed.

All people with their Cryptocurrency holdings get bewildered with just one big whale moving their money. This is because everyone knows how easily this market can be manipulated. I think this is a very big threat to this economy as this makes people dubious about it's future if it can be manipulated so easily.
If you are an investor and if you see a huge volume of bitcoin moved to an exchange wallet then you will panic as a the market will move down if they are planning to dump the coins in the market and there will be panic to take positions so that they will not loose their money and will plan on entering at a later time when the market settles down, but i a have not seen any difference in the market after this news was published Undecided.

stop following the whale alerts and reading this sort of articles
could be Binance or any other exchange moving their storages , nothing really spectacular has happened
it happens every now and then and it is a clear sign that thews outlet has nothing to write about
big amounts moved , what the price will be next xxx days = the journalists are running out of ideas   Grin

FUD is the best that journalists can do. Making a mountain out of molehill, media is catching on, and some stupid readers are going impressed by the headlines, create a panic on the net. Especially when it comes to crypto! I always laugh with people who can’t filter the news.

One Twitter account has been picking up a bewildering number of Bitcoin transfers of $410M cycled through many wallets. The reason still remains a mystery.

Large transfers of Bitcoin are expected, but recent on-chain movements have been raising eyebrows. One large market player has been moving $410M between addresses, incessantly. In total, nearly $10B in BTC has been moved back-and-forth in just 15 minutes.

Another one of many Bitcoin and crypto whale alert here!

For me, this is a such a huge amount worth of Bitcoin to be moved in another address in only 15 minutes. However, it's still a mystery whatever the reason is.

These whales are just fortunate enough to accumulate Bitcoin during the early times. Until now, I still regretted in doubting about investing in Bitcoin years ago.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these whales know what they are doing. They are here for the long-term since they have enough BTCs in their arsenal, especially the next year's halving. However, I would not really count on halving's guarantee of BTC's price pump.
I think this is really weird and makes the market looks so bad

When i saw the news about billions of dollars worth of bitcoin moved i was expecting the market to go down as that was the default reaction from the market as everyone will be expecting them to be dumped in the market but instead of the market going down the market started to recover  Undecided.
There is no point in regretting about the past actions each and every investor in the market will regret for not investing in the market when i started  Grin, invest now and look for the future Kiss.

It's likely not a whale but an exchange consolidating it's accounts. If they have a lot of dust they will move it to consolidate it into fewer addresses.

Most bitcoins are held at the major exchanges rather than in whales wallets.
It was an exchange, it was Bittrex. I did make me think though, since all of these wallets were hot for a period. I could only imagine what could happen to the market if there was a hack that big, it would be devastating.

These are just one way of whales for us to be threatened and for us to be panic thinking that they are selling all their Bitcoins and Bitcoin will go down, let's not follow them and let's just enjoy having Bitcoin, as this is just one of their ways for them to buy more Bitcoins once people started panicking and selling at loss, so let's be vigilant and not manipulated by the moves of whales.

As the article already stated, not much really seem to care about this phenomena. It's just maybe a whale trying to confuse such whale alerts and just kidding around, though he must have some guts moving such huge amounts on new addresses. Either the reason might be, the prices isn't affected contrary to what other people might think.
True such moving does happen a lot, but not quite sure what you are really trying to say over here. Why would someone be kidding with huge sum of money and coins? They are serious people and I think no sane person would be "kidding" with their financial assets!
What does moving coins have to do with "bravery". Are you implying that they might have lost their coins while moving them? LOL.

obviously important information but like most responses indicate a downtrend cannot be confirmed simply because of this transaction.

It could be unnecessary though, there's no way to tell.  It could just be trying to get attention or could even be someone who is just bored.

Hard to tell.

Yes we cannot identify the exact value even if the claim is true and moreover this might be just a tactic to further manipulate the bitcoin market as most of the users are only dependent on bitcoin nowadays due to the upcoming halving and any such news would send a strong message to the community to turn the tides.

With regards to moving that huge amount of bitcoin in the market just for doing it to catch attention is quite not a good possible reason. Why? because moving certain amounts of bitcoin do really matters for the transaction fees that it have. More bitcoin amount, more transaction fee, and no people would want to waste a huge amount of trans fee just for that. I highly believe that a newly created exchange has been launched and they need to fill their liquidity pool so they transfer that huge amount of Bitcoin.

Its already the last quater of this year and prices have not shown much movements and seems to be struggling to rise and this news will not affect the market as moving huge amounts of fund in btc is not so big thing but sometimes whales try to manipulate the prices by creating these type of market awareness intentionally to increase the investments and gain profits or try to dump btc so as to invest at lower prices so don't give much attention to such topics and use your mind in this crypto market if you want to survive for long period.

The really scary part is this, what if these whales suddenly decided to all cash out one day? What would happen to the market volatility? Just a little transaction and people fly into Fear, Uncertainty and doubt. I think that the whales know that they play an influential share in the market price movements. Bitcoin may be decentralized but a few early birds still control a lion's share of Bitcoin. This is why the early bird catches his worm, imagine investing when bitcoin was worth a few cents? You too would be considered a whale at this point.

And how does this affect the market mate? It's time you folks stopped following these whale alerts and invest based on  how much you can afford to lose. Leave the whales to play their own games and never invest looking at someone's asset. remember if bitcoin dumps to about $3k these guys would still be worth quite a sum.
supporting this one and to Op?would you please stop putting this kind of issues inside the forum?you are only making those whale actions to become FUD.

Such kind of actions are normal from years before but youn are just exaggerating just to have another Post.mind if you try to just let the good topics enter our forum?
instead of creating post like this?why not encourage people here to use this advantage to buy Bitcoin as the price is falling effect?

I don't think it's a mystery at all, if you have such huge funds, its better to move it around or even break it up to smaller units for safety and security reasons.

However, I don't know what he need to highlight this kind of movement. Whales, exchanges or even casual joes can do it. So for me this is just a rubbish articles, or what we say here in crypto, another click-bait.
