My simple question you didn't answer is why can't completely ban lending loans with accounts as a collateral? - It is a more straight forward way to prevent scams correct?

You haven't been around as long as I have, so you may not know this, but the Admins of this forum tend to shy away from setting absolute rules.  They let the community itself decide the rules.

By leaving negative trust on people who use accounts as collateral, trusted users of this forum are effectively banning using accounts as collateral.

So while the forum may not officially back it, I had that opinion in the past, and it looks like TC has it now.

Stay clear of using accounts as collateral - it just encourages fraud.

costly for lenders who has not done any thing wrong.

They have encouraged scammers to come here by allowing themselves to be scammed.   Undecided

That's what I'm trying to say. Lender are not going against any of the forum rules right? Also they may not be knowing it like me.

So instead of punishing innocent lenders why can't ban lending money with forum accounts?

In the end, that's what the other forum users are doing.

They will leave negative trust on any account you use as collateral.  That is effective banning, don't you think?

That's correct but I feel that is not the right way to end it. Because in this process some innocent people also get losses.

Ok. Last time I'm doing this though.

I agree that using accounts as collateral is a bad idea because in the end the scammer gets away.

I am for flagging every collateral account with negative trust, but the lenders need to be made aware their collateral will be worthless.

Ok I accepted I will not lend money with accounts as collateral.

I strongly feel this is not the right way of protesting it. Why can't just ban lending with accounts as a collateral? What your trying to do by giving warning or red feedback is costly for lenders who has not done any thing wrong.

I left a negative rating on this account, and it will not be removed. If you don't want to end up holding the bag, don't take accounts as collateral.

I have not done any thing wrong. Just lend money for collateral and he didn't pay so I need to recover my money. Can you please help to remove for this time and now onwards I will not do same.

Thanks for your understanding.

As all of you expected he didn't pay me back this loan so now I will liquidate this account to recover my coins.

bad luck dude, TC gave it a -ve trust(which he won't remove) and it seems you can't sell it for atleast 0.15 to breakeven :l i think this the reason why lenders should not accept btctalk account as a collateral. i also have plans lending in this forum and this will serve as a warning to me and to future lenders

Congrats on the purchase of your new account!

well, if you are so sure , first I would ask how ?

Secondly I would kick myself that I missed a cheap sr. member account Wink

He's going to default, so the collateral of his account becomes his.

Thank you for the signed message but you didn't mention any thing about your account collateral.
yes, I can provide my acc

Then you can send me your account details or you want to use any escrow? If yes then you need to pay the escrow fee.
