It would sicken me if this was just someone trying to use mlp:fim's kindness as a way to steal bitcoins

It's a worse case scenario, but you won't be able to find a lender who knows you're getting a loan to pay off another loan: if you couldn't pay off the first loan, why would the second lender have any reason to believe you'll pay off his?
