It doesn't mean that if someone has a knowledge in Photoshop and Illustrator can give you the perfect logo you want? Yes make it thru contest. This will give you lots of design submissions.

Starting a contest will get a lot of good looking design, however the price will be a lot higher than the expected amount.

The OP can state first place $20, second place $10, third place $5.
He will end up paying $35 instead of $100, and he will get designs just as good. Paying more for designs just because they originate from america is a joke.

I can give you a rough concept to build on, sweepcoin.org inside a breaking wave with the text expanding to create an idea of the site growing larger. You could even add a little surfer on there somewhere though the idea is to keep it a very simple logo, waves are very good basic idea recognisable to an audience and fits into the site name

To be clear I am currently asking for concepts and portfolios to decide which designer I will proceed with. Please don't spend a ton of time on your concept, it can be on a napkin if need be; I just want to be sure we're both on the same page before committing. Thank you to everyone who has reached out so far. Don't worry I don't plan on dragging this out forever like some silly contest. Should have it decided within 24 hours.

I would just like to say this: I started working on the project assuming it was a $100 payout and not a competition. I have already made an initial concept that the OP liked, as well as a few revisions. I would feel cheated if he suddenly lowers the reward and makes this a competition as Vod suggests.

I can't come up with something that isn't lame like a broom and some bitcoins, I need something abstract yet could still represent movement of funds after some explanation/imagination. Will pay $100 in bitcoin after work is completed. If interested please PM me with a link to a quick concept you have for the logo and/or portfolio. Purchase should include flat image and source file.

You can get a logo on here for a LOT less than $100 - esp if you are paying in bitcoin.
Have a contest and pay out the winner (I like to pay out the 2nd and 3rd place as well)
