Are these unique? If not how many were issued? I also wonder what these go for? Any recent sales or auctions?

This is a tricky question, there are the original pieces which are 1 of 1, but there has been quite a few different prints etc using the design. The back was auctioned for 1BTC, not sure about the front.

This isn't a complete list but what I could think of/find quickly:

United Nodes Completed Sheet (#/21)

United Nodes sheet (12) print (#/21)

United Node Front Stickers (#/?? Lots)

Large print (#/??)

Thanks for all the info....you are missing one more.... The United Nodes of Bitcoin x100

I happen to own one of these  Wink

"United nodes"

If I recall correctly, this is not a loaded note correct? Its a repurposed dollar bill bit there are no holograms and keys.

Right, it has no keys, it's made from several cut up dollar bills. You can see some of the pieces in this image:

Also Cryptograffiti released another note called the "United nodes of bitcoin back" that I had forgotten about.

Hox thanks for clarifying that! Also was not aware of the second note he made.

Polymerbit of course is the best place to start, lots of designs in lots of different price ranges.

But the holy grail bitcoin note for me has to be Cryptograffiti's The united nodes of bitcoin

Indeed that is a beautiful note made by CryptoGraffiti years ago...I own a couple of his pieces but not this.

I can only wish I have that in my collection.

That is such a classy note, gets across a lot of bitcoin messages.

I also love the Polymerbit notes, very collectible and there are many different designs.
Here is a reference thread but some of the newer releases are not listed. Its a great
resource particularly for the early notes.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/polymerbit-reference-thread-2393303

I also love the Bitcoin Suisse notes too, lovely designs, very unique. So yea Polymerbit and
Bitcoin Suisse are well worth getting into.

bitbills were never paper though right? Only CC style cards?
Agreed they are the unattainable grail to many.
Krogoth's collection is amazing and I am yet to see one on sale here that I could afford.

Suisse notes were also older and I have only seen second hand here, seems I missed their 2019 offerings.
MJ just posted an auction of some here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/auction-2019-bitcoin-suisse-btc-and-eth-notes-5450961

Polymerbit are also very good and readily available on their website: https://www.polymerbit.com/

Have to agree with Bavi....Bitbills were the very first and to me are the keystone to any physical bitcoin collection.

As for others...I would go with Polymerbit and Suisse notes as they have been around for a very long time and to me are trustworthy as well.

Good luck on your hunt for the Bitbills....they are very rare to come across. Cheers

Gang,

I am a coin collector and trader. My mantra has been to pick a lane, learn as much as you can and stay focused. As a result, I decided early on to just collect coins / tokens. It is what I know from my past trading too before physical bitcoins.

However, all the bitcoin bills are awesome. I am not going to be a collector accumulating a lot of bills, but what advise would you give to someone like me who decided to try and own one or two? If a new collector asked me what coins to own, I would say: 1. Affordable and reliable classic - Satori. 2. under $1000, so real money, but forever great collectible - 10,000 bits Crypto Imperator or a number of Lealanas. 3. Big money but legacy collectible - Loaded Casascius.

What is your advice for picking up a bitcoin paper note?

Steeley

Bitbills are the very first physical bitcoin collectibles and were produced even before casascius coins were invented. Hence they are the holy grail of physical bitcoin collecting imo. If you ever have the chance to get your hands on any of them, I’d say to definitely consider it. Krogo made a nice thread about them here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/info-all-about-bitbills-3334918

Can’t go wrong with polymerbit, Bitcoin Suisse, offline cash notes, and a cheap and affordable option is the “United decentralized ledger notes. Also have a alt coin note called “Kong Cash” that looks cool but I’ve yet to get any

Kong cash and decentralized ledger are possible scams — can’t be loaded or redeemed so possibly just worthless.

Stick with polymerbit or Bitcoin Suisse IMO - these are the leaders in paper cryptocurrency. Paying for trustworthy quality is always better than cheap knock offs.

Don’t buy them all. I have some polygon ones and the quality is great
