Start to collect an alt coin and then trade it on an exchange.
This is the best thing to do when the price of btc is heaving like it has for the past 48 hours.
That is what real bitcoiner do when the times are looking bleak.
Trade more like squirrels readying themselves for a price dump winter fallout. Grin

Do you know any good places to start investing?

Ideally one would purchase/rent mining power, either own farm or cloud mining but both ways have run stale somehow. Exaggerated equipment purchase pricings, declining revenue, outright ponzi scamms. The scene shot it's own foot.
Start searching for cheap electricity first, then purchase some used mining stuff. Rocky pathways.

There is the Lending subsection https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=65.0 where you can try to get some interest rate. A more indirect method would be taking the topmost exchangers from this list https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/ where some offer margin trading, where you can rent out your portfolio. That's mostly risk-free but low revenue. Volume higher, from my perception.

Investing into one's own skill development might pay of best, there is a freelance website somewhere (sombody got link?).

Thanks you for the reply, I'm quite good at writing g. It really sure where I would go to get paid btc?

So it would probably be a good idea to hang around the forums and just research etc?

Do you know any good places to start investing?

I don't think I would be to good at trading either.

Thanks

You can try trading but as beginner should only use a small fraction of your assets. After some time and many mistakes you learn from mistakes and become full time trader. This path is not easy, and risks are high.

Other ways:
- Invest in casino bankroll (here is quite interesting report about gambling invest) - this is the safest way IMO, because you are on the side of house edge.
- Lend your BTC to other users in lending board - there is risk you will not be paid back, thus ask for relevant collateral.
- Store BTC in interest bearing wallets - I like bixin.com and BW.com as both are proved mining companies (alternatively freebico.in offers a similar service)
- I also invested few BTC in hashnest (the only cloudmining I trust is real )

Avoid any doublers, multipliers and cloudminings .. these are mostly just ponzi scams.

Final advice, before any invest always search in scam accusation board for other users reports.

Do you have any skills that you could offer? Freelancing could give a decent pay, in that case. Faucets give so extremely small amounts, that they are not worth your time. You could try trading if you have some money to invest, but if you make a bad decision it could backfire and you could end up losing money. There are also signature campaigns, but they require that you have been active on the forums for quite some time, and also that your posts meet a certain standard.
