Another newbie paying senior members to post an ANN thread without mentioning anything about the website and users offering to post the ANN without bothering about any details. User wants to buy merits too instead of earning it. Whole thing screams SCAM!

> Another newbie

True, I am a newbie and I am the kind of newbie wants to follow the rules -- and trying to learn the rules at the same time

> paying senior members to post an ANN thread

True, but is that allowed by the rule?

> post an ANN thread without mentioning anything about the website

True, but I'm still working on the website and am just gathering offers now.

> users offering to post the ANN without bothering about any details

True for now, but the seller will get more info from me, even if it's just to the sake of posting.

> User wants to buy merits too

True, but is that allowed by the rule? To a newbie like me, if copper membership can be bought rather than earned, why can't merit?

> Whole thing screams SCAM!

Not sure about that, I've heard many people scream SCAM about Bitcoin as well :-)

Buying and selling accounts and merits are not against the rules but are discouraged as users who have bought accounts and merits have used those accounts to scam members. Scamming also here is not against rules but can get you red trust. Asking someone to trust you and post your ANN and if it turns out suspicious can get them negative trust too.

Cool, thanks.

I learnt a lot and had fun with this thread.

I'm going to leave it open for another day before locking it.

> In ICO they still reviewing any project

Who are "they"?

Don't get me wrong -- as obnoxious as I am -- I'm asking a genuine question here: What is process of getting an ANN project / thread approved?

You can ignore most of the random spammers here on the forum, it's not all doom and gloom.

If your thread isn't an overt scam, and not shady in any way, then there will be no problems having another member post it up for you. A DT member is only going to tag you or the thread poster if they knowingly post something suspicious/scammy.

Whether you choose to pay someone else to post it or upgrade to copper membership depends on your own wants. That said, nobody is going to post up your thread if it has even the slightest hint of being a scam.

I just read your post history and found (maybe) a brief description of the project you're about to launch. If you've guessed and made sure some members will consider your project to be a Ponzi/pyramid scheme, I suggest you not to continue this. Anyone behind your project (and even a member you paid to post your ANN), will get a surprise from DT members 15 minutes later.

> some members will consider your project to be a Ponzi/pyramid scheme

Well, _some members_ will always consider _some projects_ to be a scam, this is unfortunately true even in Bitcointalk --

* Does _someone_ consider _some_ ICO a scam?

* Does _someone_ consider CryptoKitties a scam?

* Many Bitcoin maximalists consider Ethereum a scam

Just my 2 Satoshi.
But the project you will start is ponzi scheme you will directly tagged negative from dt  for making it. Without eveb the need to review your program.

In ICO they still reviewing any project and if the project found out that it is scam fraud thats the only time thats the acount will be tagged.

Any one who accept that job from you his account will be tagged the day its posted so its dangerous .

If you dont affraid to be tagged then its better for you to buy copper membership than hiring any one here.

Unfortunately, but many users of this forum consider themselves morality keepers. Which, unfortunately, in practice looks like they don't realize that they are lying to themselves.

Don't buy merit. It's wrong and it is a way of the cheating system. buying trust always ends up bad

OP, good practice on the forum is when you get all answers here, you can lock the thread. all replies are repeated, "buy copper membership" blah...

~ Buying merits is against the rules, ~
Is it? I know it is frowned upon by legit members but I haven't seen anyone getting banned for buying or selling merits. NeuroticFish already posted a thread for reference. There were also cases were merits sent were rolled back by admin but I can't remember if that was related to merit trading.

@OP, your best option really is buying a copper membership. The cost could be higher at first but it's only a one time payment to enable you to post without the newbie restrictions and you also have full control of the thread. It's cheaper in the long run compared to buying the services of higher rank members and buying merits.

When it comes to account trust, you will be able to build that also if your project is legit and if you are serious in building it.

Obeying the rules,
You will be having no problem to that, the same goes for hiring other user to do the work.

I see, so the project is not completed yet and for sure, it will take a while before you can initiate.

Yes, they will get the information from you, but I suggest that you should finish your website first and other important things about the project.

Buying merits is against the rules, purchasing copper membership is just removing the restrictions of being a newbie, it enables you to posts images and such as things that newbie can't do. So don't compare it to buying merits.

> paying senior members to post an ANN thread

True, but is that allowed by the rule?

Afaik yes, but there are downsides of this approach. And it's "not nice".
If the ANN poster is not part of the team you may have bad surprises, maybe not now, maybe in a few years...

> User wants to buy merits too

True, but is that allowed by the rule? To a newbie like me, if copper membership can be bought rather than earned, why can't merit?

No. Buying/selling merit is against the rules. Period. Correction: it looks like they are not against the rules after all (see this thread), but it's not a trustworthy action and there's a good chance that doing that will get somebody give you red feedback.
And ranking up needs more than merit, you'll see especially for the high ranks.
There's also a confusion here. Copper member is not a higher rank member, the rank is kept. It's only that the user is allowed some things here and there, basically to allow exactly to post ANNs.

This copper membership is something new to me -- thanks for the tip, however, I've also been seeing talks about "merits", and there are people offering to sell them. May I know how does copper membership jell with "merits"?
Don't attempt to buy merit or account. It's against trust system of forum and you would get negative feedback if cought. If you can't afford buy copper membership or can't pay high rank users to create ANN thread behalf of you then this forum isn't for advertise your platform. Go somewhere else where you can make ANN thread free.

If you are bored with this whole system, you can immediately buy an account with a higher rank.

I'll assume you have the post prepared and there's nothing extra to work on it.

A higher level user posting your ANN would mean he trusts the project. So it could get expensive.
There are 3 options you have:
1. buy copper membership - see the "More" area in the forum header.
2. ask a lower level user (Jr. Member) post it for you for a fee (he may not be so picky with researching)
3. post the ANN without images and ask somebody quote it to see it fully with images.

I recommend you consider 1 or 3 because then you will have the control over the topic (like editing the main post or even lock the thread).

If you already have an outline or your ANN thread is ready and just up for posting and needed an account that can post an image you don't need to hire a higher member to do the posting you can just upgrade your account to a copper member, visit this so you can understand more: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/newbies-can-now-pay-a-small-fee-to-enable-images-2385104

In other words you can post like a member in the forum even if your account is new.

If you don't have any outlines to post and you're looking for a service that provides the creation of your ANN thread then it's a different situation.

You always can buy copper membership (it is recommended) and improve your account level as "member" then you can't have limits to post pictures and images

This copper membership is something new to me -- thanks for the tip, however, I've also been seeing talks about "merits", and there are people offering to sell them. May I know how does copper membership jell with "merits"?

You should not ever offer to buy merits. Merits are given to users when they make an informative post sort of like a reward for making a constructive post. Merits are needed in order to achieve ranks on this forum as well as activity is also needed to rank up.

All you need to do is buy yourself a copper membership from the forum administration and you can post your announcement thread and images. Nothing else is needed.

My account is too new to start an ANN post in Altcoins, any senior member offers such service? How much?

Why paying anyone while you can do it by yourself? Just pay a little amount for copper membership so that you can post a image and follow the instructions on this thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/newbies-can-now-pay-a-small-fee-to-enable-images-2385104, you can save some bucks for paying a high rankings members to post your thread here.

I believe that this is not the case when the project team should save their money on publishing an ANN announcement. I have seen many times when forum newcomers published their ANN, which became an anti-advertising project. I do not offer my services, there are enough professionals here without me.
