Even if a person sees it negatively, you can always ask them to look at it more closely.

Most people avoid interaction with people labelled as scammers I can't blame them though.

But the point is people with negative feedback from untrusted users arent marked as scammers. When the feedback is from another user who is marked a scammer anyone with half a brain will know to disregard it.

Very true. And in worst situation, people wanting to trade with OP will just ask to use escrow, and OP will get some positive trust after the successful trades. Smiley

Hey guys some user that rages for I dont know what reason decide to put me a bad rating saying it was a risk of 20 btc. I have never trades on bitcoin talk. How can this be removed?
It cannot be removed, however if the person sending the neg trust is not on the default trust list then most people will never see it because non-default trust is hidden by default (for good reason).

I think people tend to look at untrusted feedback when entering into any sort of transaction. You'd hope that people would be reasonable about this sort thing, considering how the trust system is set up.... but to be honest, the trust system deters me from leaving negative trust for anyone for this very reason.

The person who put the trust has a negative reputation himself as well as having a tonne of other spammy trust ratings.
I'm pretty sure any trader will not be hindered by this reputation , as it is obviously fake.
Regardless of if people will ignore the OPs neg feedback, the OP should always be using escrow unless he has a lot of positive trust as there are a huge amount of scammers out there.

People will at least be very careful if they deal with neg trust members and it is the purpose of the Trust system

It's there, you just have to go into the 'untrusted feedback' section, but that's why it doesn't matter.

I dont want people to see me as a scammer...

They won't. Plus, the guy who left you it is seen as a scammer as he has negative feedback from someone trusted so 99.9% of people will see that and it shouldn't effect you. I have one negative feedback from a troll scammer too, but it doesn't really matter. The feedback system isn't moderated and feedback is rarely removed so there's nothing you or I can do about it but accept it however annoying it may be.

I understand this but isn't it a little irresponsible?  It is one thing to allow free speech on the forum and let some dickhead make a scam accusation thread that is clearly without merit, another to leave feedback that shows up in all red letters saying someone is untrustworthy.  The fact that it doesn't show up without a couple of clicks really doesn't clear forsakenpnut's name.

It seems like despite having a very good purpose the trust system as it is presently implemented risks just turning into another way to troll bitcointalk users.

True, but if mods have the power to moderate the trust feedback, it could bring some other issues.

And don't forget it will take them lots of time and effort to investigate what happened, as they probably need to read the posts, PMs, bitcoin/altcoin/bank wire transaction info, skype chat log, emails back and forth, etc.

You have a new account, so it would not affect you very much by simply making a new account.

It doesnt matter, if its not on the trusted side.

Well if I was to trade maybe it would affect me.

I doubt it. Anyone willing to dig deep enough to see it at all will see it's by someone untrustworthy. I wouldn't take it into account personally.

Whenever I'm considering buying something through the forum, I check DefaultTrust and my personal trust list first, then untrusted feedback, then (if it seems questionable, like yours, or if there isn't much feedback in total) another level down to find out why the feedback was left. Since the person who gave you the negative trust is rather obviously a scammer, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Yeah , i see it now.

Seams he gave alot of those feedbacks in single day, some kind of feedback spree.

Never had similar problems, but i would try to get in touch with the staff here, maybe they can help you out with this one, since that user is obv abusing trust feature.
