Everybody can give positive, neutral or negative feedback to anybody.

The main thing is: if you're a newbie (your current rank), nobody will take your negative feedback serious.... It's a shame, but that's just the way it is. I'm a senior member, but i'm not in DT, and i seriously doubt any feedback left by me would be taken seriously by at least 50% of the members here.

If you have a strong case against somebody, it's better to start a scam accusation (read the sticky notes), if somebody on DT (default trust) reads your case, and agrees with you, there is a reasonable chance he'll leave negative feedback to the scammer, and most (if not all) members will take his/her feedback serious.

Why should a one post Newbie with zero credibility been given the same credibility of a Hero, (for example), with 50 verified and successful trades?  Undecided
That's why you work yourself through the ranks, BUILDING credibility as you trade and interact with the community.
I for one, read others feedback along with references. If there are no references, I generally ignore the rating.

You're right, but what i was trying to say was that IF the OP was just an honest person with newbie status AND he was scammed, leaving negative trust using his newbie account would be ignored by most (but luckily not all, thanks to people like you who actually read the references) of the forum members because of his current status. In this case, this would be a shame.

I agree that credibility has to be built, there's nothing wrong with that, i just found it sad that if the OP actually got scammed, he couldn't make a real impact on the scammer's account by leaving -ve himself, he actually needs a more senior member to do this for him in order to put a dent in the scammer's business.

BTW: i'm not proposing a different trust system. I think the current system is a bit flawed, but i don't have a better alternative, so i think it should stay the way it is.

can a lower rank give neg trust a higher rank?

whats the minimum rank for giving neg trust?

Can only speak for myself with dittos' what others have said.  If you or anyone has a reference for the reason (when I was new here I didn't know how to include the reference link which made me give neg trust) it is more helpful for stating the reason why you put neg on someone's name.

I can read and make my own decision.  I do see some who put neg, as retaliation ~to which I use my common sense and disregard that sort of marks.

For me Account status means nothing, as accounts have been bought and sold.  Trades can also be done with Alt's or friends again, this doesn't mean anything to me.

It would be nice, for those who have more than 1 account/a bought account~to at the very least have "neutral" feedback~letting others know quickly what's up. I hate to have to dig thru tons of pages to learn..............the beginning of the fraud started months ago.

And yes, there are those here............who set up a fraud scheme........months in advance.  It gets to a point you can "smell it a mile away"  Roll Eyes

I have 1 account.  For all to see my stance on issues.  I'm not politically correct and won't ever be.  It is what it is.  Undecided

Word.  All the black feedback I've gotten (except for the neutral from TECSHARE) is from people I've actually had business with.  All the red trust is retaliation from users I've left negs for because of scamming or account dealing, which I don't trust.  But people looking at my feedback don't see the positive stuff because of the overwhelming flood of red.  But so be it, I won't lose sleep.

can a lower rank give neg trust a higher rank?

whats the minimum rank for giving neg trust?
Yes, Everyone is free to give a feedback trust to the others members but once you got negative feedback from default members you will get a negative -2 red and you cannot join in the signature campaign but once you got a positive feedback from default members you will a +10 green.

Thats false

Some signature campain allow even members who got red from default trust members it's hard but there are some

and you get not +10 green from 1 default trust feedback the color will be still dark black and +1 if i remember it depends on how long ago you got the feedback so it turns to light green +1

That thread you pointed is about the old trust system. However you are correct, 1 positive feedback from default trust members will give +1 but the overall ratings will only increase by 1 per month upto 10 per positive feedback you have

Yes you can, but much better if you can also provide a link or reference to the negative feedback that you give so that it will add at least a weight on the feedback that you provided to a higher rank member. Did he give you a feedback as well? Others may think it's just a retaliatory feedback because of a feedback given to you by this higher rank member.
