Okay I need to say something here. I think there is a couple more good proposals in trello-board which are missing here. And all in all this might be little rushed before gathering all promising logos and show them in the exact same comparable size. Why not in coinmarketcap-size too as someone proposed, which is 16x16 pixels.

As I happen to be the designer of the #3 I cannot but notice that I have previously made public also these modifications of that very logo:

My original "green" proposal here

Deserved to be added in the front page next to option 3

1, 2, 3 and 5 are great...I'm not a fan of 4
I personally think 2 (cube) will be the winner and will take home the logo prize, very professional

I like abstract NEM. Cube would have been good too but for the colour combo.

tbh, I don't particularly like any of them. Aren't there any better out there?

The Tomome is conceptually good but something is off in the execution.

The thin slivers around the edge or something about the program used to make the curve looks off.

the way apple does IOS is super flat design is a good indicator. The Tomome tries to be super flat but its not some how, and ends up looking like a 12 year olds ms paint.

The way the cube combines the letters is quite smart and probably subconscious, it also makes you look at it to see how it fits together, because humans are puzzle solvers

Further the CUBE logo has three different but coherent presentations which builds a sigil effect. None of the others integrate with the words or suggest type face of NEM.

The Cube offers a complete package and design language with which the rest of the nem effort can use as a guide.

Also I don't need and explanation about the Cube, it tells me what it is even in the logo N + E + M. The tomone requires a blurb of text to justify it.

For this reason the cube is currently better on multiple fronts, and the more I look the better the cube is.

I don't think a cube represents the non-hierarchical ideals of NEM.

I agree with you about the balance of the original tomoe logo, so I made some changes:

I would encourage people interested in the logo design to join the logo committee. It is up to the logo committee to try to provide some guidance for the design of NEM. The tomoe logo is still a work in progress and we don't have any new design from Loi, so I don't think holding a vote now is the best time.

Please join the logo committee on trello if interested (PM me with your trello username if you need to be added to the board or something):

That is some what better, but if I could say this ,the tomome is used in quite a lot of places in some cultures as you have pointed out and is no unique to nem.

You have now slapped the tomome on to the last letter of the nem and ended up with a rounded curve not a the same as the other lettering so broken the visual language, its sort of shoe horned in.

further the N + E + M concept is not there or something equivalent.

I'm not trying to put your design down in anyway, rather it just does not seem to offer the unified visual language or the be su de novo / sui generis , to nem, and thus differentiated from everything else.

You might have a better design in you, but the tomome as it is does not appear to tick all the boxes the cube does

Also I like the way the cube sort of looks like it is floating, and popped out of the page, I saw this first some where else and it caught my eye.

Simple, precise, easy to draw, does not need tons of text to be explained and has a fun factor: Pls count my vote for the nice NEM CUBE  Smiley

I think the same.

I think you are too fixated on your own ideas. The cube has the style and fun factor and that saying it does not represents NEM ideas is unfair.

I don't think we should be voting yet. Obviously none of thee Stand out strongly enough for a large amount of support. I don't like any of these and I have seen better in hold forum. We need one last thread where we can have a "surge" of brainstorms where any and all ideas can be posted. Then set a date where we must set up a final vote, say around the launch of beta or so. This group of designs is NOT strong enough to warrant a vote at this point! Give it a little more time and we will have a very competitive group. Undecided

I would consider it an interim vote. These are the best in the pool and the logo submission has been open for a long time.  And don't do "design by committee", rarely anything good can come out. If you have something nice to propose, put it here.

100% agree about the "design by committee" comment!

The voting results here will help provide some guidance as to what kind of things the community likes. We are still working on modifications of the tomoe design and I think Loi is working on a design too. I think what would be the most helpful here would be to explain why people like certain aspects of a logo they chose and what are some cons about it. Everything has pros and cons, so please try to list them up and provide helpful feedback.

Thanks for being receptive. The new modifications to Tome logo are good because it eliminates the odd shape of the outer ring.
To me there is a strong contrast between the tome and the cube logo. One is of traditional, old-fashioned style versus one of a modern, futuristic style. Can't be more different. If it might work if  Loi can infuse a strong dose of modernity to yours but as it is the cube is much better to my eyes.

We are a community and nothing is set in stone yet, so I want everyone to try to contribute and help build our brand.

You are right about the contrast between old and new. To be honest, I like that contrast. It is non-diegetic and I think it helps to stand out from other coin logos (well, that was the objective in the design).

Loi's design is good, but the problem is I think the cube doesn't represent what NEM is, and a lot of the logo committee agreed. It is well balanced and designed (he is a pro, after all), but the concept needs a little work I think. I don't think a cube represents NEM and I think simply incorporating the letters N E M is not enough (you can't see that anyway, without being taught). Loi is really busy right now it seems, but I hope he can try to come up with some new ideas.

Rather than just going to 99 designs, as many have suggested, I would prefer to have the community or someone like Loi who works with us to build the logo. I think that will be more meaningful than a pretty logo created by a hired hand, who isn't interested in our movement. The most ideal situation would be to have a team of several designers who are pros and work to build our brand because they are passionate about what we are doing.

We'll continue to make improvements and see what will happen. For the final design, a professional like Loi or someone else will definitely be used to create something and the community will be given an opportunity to comment on it. Something like that should work well I think, though maybe someone has other suggestions?

Anyway, if you have ideas, PLEASE come on trello and help out.
