People need to understand that creating NEM from scratch is going to take time, this isn't some copy/paste crap coin. It's. 100% new code. Do you want a rushed piece of buggy crap or something that is stable with new features?

Good work again guys. I can understand a technically innovative and qualitatively superior product needs a lot of hard work.

Thanks for putting in all that work. I think I am not mistaking if I say that all Nemsters appreciate this and look forward to contributing to the project as much as possible.

As a side note, I am not sure auctioning the Nem stakes on the Nxt AE would be the best option. I am for Nxt, and appreciate all the hard work and innovation they are putting in as well, but in a situation like this it may be better to avoid this option due to conflicting interest.

It would only be a win-win situation if Nxt would agree to do something similar and promote Nem with some positive marketing as well.

I'm afraid you are as - I dare not say his name - proofs today.

The waiting list invitation period lasted 2 weeks and was over a coupe days ago, and now I would like to present you the NEM final stakeholder list in this link.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AlidWok7hW0DdFRROFFGVUpwcFFXcHVCdGc0a3NuQVE&usp=drive_web#gid=10

It was a long process lasting close to four months and filled with drama, and finally I am happy to say that it came to an end. The waiting list invitations were sent directly to 134 accounts in the waiting list thread and 91 of them has agreed to join in. This is the invitation letter I sent out:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1q-Ew6-ac_3NmWHxO2O0WivNOP7Wz9sghTYS2tPWqd8E/edit

I am very happy that the majority of waiting list people agreed to join us not only because they sent the biggest donation to NEM development fund, but also because they are much more likely to be helpful to NEM than an average stakeholder in earlier stages (better selection process). For that I am thankful that you agreed to join us.

As it is the stakeholder list now consists of 2844 stakeholders and that would leave 156 NEM shares (=156 million NEM) for the auction held later on. Minus a coupe of shares for corrections and addition, the shares for auction will be closer to 4% of the total NEM than 3% estimated earlier.

On the blockchain development, we have been working non-stop for three months with almost no off day (that is for the whole team, each of us sometimes takes a necessary break) and we are getting close to an Alpha release but not there yet. Personally, I can't be happier with the team we have and I expect much bigger things for our collaboration. First 3 months could just be a tiny step in the lifespan of NEM. I  have a longer commitment to NEM development and I hope stakeholders would share my view.

But if you do not, we will offer you some ways to sell all or a part of your stake soon. The first obvious way is to request a refund for your contribution. I will open a refund request soon and all refund requests would be honored (minus transaction fee) until the NEM official launch. We are also exploring some pre-launch trading options including issuing temporary tokens representing NEM stakes aka Maidsafe coin issuance style.

Gimre have been updating to you about coding progress in this thread regularly and we promise that we won't leave the community in the dark about what we are working on (except things that has a chance of being cloned easily by a competitor). However it should be kept in mind that "we are working on A" or" we plan to work on A" does not translate to "we promise to deliver A in". Priorities could change and we don't make feature promises until the features are production ready.

Finally, I would say relax, have some fun and wait for the Nemesis. I think at this point you can be sure that we are not running off with your money Wink

Exciting news!!!
I am really looking forward to see the alpha launch

Another tought i have:

I was thinking that auction held, lets say 1. day of every month, with 5 stakes at a time for a year could keep the price a lot higher and be better PR, than auctioning 'em all at once. Weather it's in NXT-AE or not. And give the rest either for stakeholders or to charity on NEM's first birthday or something. Stakeholders could vote what is the best charity.

people could just freely pm him through bitcointalk to buy at market price imstead of an auction and keep the sale of 135 odd stakes off the market and thus not effect the price with many sells. Alls he gota do is send the buyer of "auction" stakes a nem stake asset to buyers nxt account. Job done. Saves the hassle of originising an auction too. It will give the dumpers a good chance to dump at much lower prices to those who may hold the coin long term, as i will. People dont know what to pay at auction as a price hasnt been set yet. The price would be much better set on the open market then at auction, as many will with hold from bidding in the hope of getting cheaper stakes on the open market. I say no auction. Issue assets. Set base price on open market. Then utopian sells the "auction" stakes off the market. Job done and best price got for them. He can also hold some stakes for later sale after alpha and beta when he will get a much higher price.

So you are saying that we need to wait till June/July when the coin is released and then issue an asset and just change the price daily to follow the price on exchances. But if price rises to $0,1/NEM who would buy $100k/stake ? Then we will need to split stakes to not bigger than 10k NEM ($1000) pieces so enough people will afford to buy any. That asset is gonna be there a long time... Exchange volumes might stay too low... Or relay exclusively to NXT-system at first (it needs to get super-popular) and later on NEM's own Decentralized-Exchange ??

No the assets could be issued by 12 oclock tomorrow if utopian so wished and has the time. The infrastructure is there now to do it. Or atleast it will be to tomorrow. And the assets woundnt have to represent stakes ether.. They could represent the coins themselves so instead of issuing 1 stake token per person on asset exchange you could issue 156m nem coin tokens.

So u could sell 50 percent of your stake if you so wish to. The nem coin tokens would be issued on asset exchange and redeemable 1:1 for real nem coins at launch. If you can trade on mintpal you can trade on asset exchange. Its exactly the same thing. But decentralised. No need to be techy.

Its very easy. Why do an auction when you can list nem coin tokens on asset exchange and trade it like a real coin as if it was on mintpal. You buy what you want at market price same as any other coin thats launched on an exchange.

Come distribution of real coins. You send what ever nem coin tokens you own back to utopian along with a nem address and he exchanges the the nem coin tokens 1 for 1 with real nem coins!

This way everyone can trade their coins freely on open market, no need for auction as you would get the best price at the time judged by the market, which i bet you a nem stake would be more then what you would get if it was auction first then open market. The only people that would disagree in my opinion would be people who want cheap auction stakes.

Could we get a devs input on this please?

Edit:

As for doing an auction once a month for a year. Its a bit pointless. Whos going to bid 15 dollars for something they pay 10 dollars for on the open market. The auction price would ether be lower or the same price as the market value of the coin.

Oh, you mean the Maidsafe style. Sounds good, they nailed it. Something like $6000'000 in one day. Maybe after roadmap and alpha is out it could be bulls-eye for timing.
I'm gonna get some more beer and start dreaming...    Grin   Grin

Guys don´t be stupid

You really like your Coin2 don't you ? Stop trolling here. Is anyone from NEM coming to troll the Coin2 thread ?
In the thread that you sold your 20 stakes you said plz no trolling. Why don't you take your own advice and don't troll here ?

To put it in your language: Verpiss dich !

To the people that bought those 20 stakes. Are you really that naiv ? No NEMs have been issued. You bought stuff that currently doesn't exist. How did he verify that he actually owns 20 stakes ? What if we we're to come up with a technical way to make sure people can't reddem multiple stakes? Do you think you'd get your money back if those oh so clever sock puppets weren't able to actually claim their stakes ? Hell no !
I'm not saying we are working on such measures. I'm saying think before you blindly trust people.

I think an in house auction is preferable, I'm no good with Teck but auctions are more my thing.
There are several types of auctions, the ones i attend usually have similar formats.
>Buyer pays a deposit
>Buyer bids on 1 lot
>if buyer wins the lot he then pays the difference.

>multiple lots (say 10 Nem stakes)
>buyer pays a deposit
>buyer wins bid on 1 lot then is given the option to purchase the remains 9 lots. (it's called options)
>If buyer only wants 1 lot then the remaining lots are put back in the auction room.

An Alpha launch would obviously increase the price of a Nem stake. i understand haters, detractors and the like trolling Nem and the auction before alpha but nothing beats the buzz of an auction.
I say lets start an auction (soon) start the buzz and establish a base point. When Alpha is released then there is a measuring stick for further auctions . Regardless when, i'm very interested in the format of the auctions .
