buy support is just crumbling I have lost so much already thank you nem
complaining about it won't help

I am hoping the devs may see this and wake up
btt doesn't exactly yield intellectual discussion all that much so I don't blame them for not hanging out here.. Though if you read telegram or nem forum you will find they are very much awake and working magnitudes more than anyone else to push nem further.. Not something I can say about most on btt with any shread of truth.

Saying that, perhaps it is you who needs to wake up and show some appreciation for the hard work the devs have done and are doing.

Try removing the db file from the nem folder and then start NIS again. It sounds like it got corrupted somehow.
It seems to be working now, blocks are updating.

Was to early with my happiness! I have 0 NEM in my wallet

Imported your private key ?
Using the right account ?

Headover to http://forum.ournem.com. This problem has been solved many times there.

Oh, it's ok now. Of course it had to sync starting from 0. Wallet is up to date. Many thanks for your help mate!  Smiley

Yes, just to be clear, when we sync a new chain, the balance will often say "0" as the chain is syncing, but then when it gets caught up to recent times, it will show the real balance.
Ok. Just one question: Is it necessary to activate "delegated harvesting"?

Not necessary, but it´s good for you, believe me. Do it, do it, DO IT !   (well, that was the short answer . .)
Then you will see by yourself, that this is one of the wonderfull features of NEM .

http://blog.nem.io/how-local-and-delegated-harvesting-works/

In "Settings" just change "lokal" to a remote NIS, you can use any of  http://www.nodeexplorer.com/

Then you can shut down your computer, and the XEMs will still come rolling in, if the remote NIS finds a block and the fees in it, which then is your´s . . No joking, it´s true, can´t believe it myself . .
And that all decentralized and with no risk, damn !

Yes, it is an amazing feature.  I was pretty blown away when I learnt about it.  And if you want to know something else, for all those running the stand alone, to do all that you need only run NCC.  That basically means that anybody can have NCC on a usb  (or just download from bob.nem.ninja), and have NEM started on a virgin computer and be sending transactions in under thirty seconds.

The NEM devs are building a really amazing foundation for NEM.  Just think about the possibilities that this will open up when we get mobile apps someday.

Yeah, cool, really, but let´s the newbies come aboard first, his question shows, that we´re still at basics, but he´s halfway here . .

NEM now has paper wallets.  Pretty exciting and beautiful.

If you would like to get one of these please follow the steps:

1) download http://blockexplore.in/static/vouchergen.zip

2) unzip to your desktop (or preferably a usb or flash drive)

3) open a command prompt and type cd Desktop/vouchergen (or your usb/flashdrive location instead of desktop)

4) then type java voucher

5) print and back up files

Optional: You can put this program on a usb or flash card.  The paper wallets will automatically be stored on your flash drive.  You can print up your paper wallets and you can store your flash and your paper wallets in two different secure locations and know that your XEM will always be safe.  All of this can be done on a computer that is offline too for added security.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would also like to introduce the NEM vanity address generator.  Would you like to have an address with you name in it?  If so, here is how to do it.

1) download  http://blockexplore.in/static/nemGenVanity.zip

2) unzip to your desktop

3) open a command prompt and type cd Desktop/nemGenVanity

4) then type java genacc

5) pick the target that you would like in your address

Three letter words should come really fast, four letter still quickly, five letter words might take a some minutes, six letter words might take some hours, and seven letter words will take days.

A new/updated NEM video was released and posted on the website and overview.

This was my favorite part

"has a large team of committed and capable developers who are actively engaged with supporters"

That made me laugh

No it's not really necessary.
You seems to be brand new so it would prob be a good idea to checkout http://nem.io/faq.html and/or http://blog.nem.io/nem-tutorial-list/
Thanks!

Local NIS or Remote NIS?
I guess it's a local one. I installed it via the standalone procedure.
Error: Time synchronization not possible, NIS not available. (org.nem.ncc.time.synchronization.NccTimeSynchronizer synchronizeTime)
Can you describe what exactly you did ? How did you run the software ?
I launched it as usual via 2 terminal windows:
sh nix.runNcc.sh and sh nix.runNis.sh (in the other window)

Does "sh nix.runNis.sh" give you any errors?

It seems like your NIS isn't running.

I get this one:
Acquiring exclusive lock to lock file: /Users/xxx/nem/nis.lock (org.nem.deploy.CommonStarter tryAcquireLock)
2015-05-04 08:40:24.671 WARNING no certificate found for (file:/Users/xxx/Desktop/package/nis/nem-deploy-0.6.28-BETA.jar ) (org.nem.core.metadata.CodeSourceFacade )

and this one's in red:
2015-05-04 11:23:03.753 WARN SQL Error: 90030, SQLState: 90030 (org.hibernate.engine.jdbc.spi.SqlExceptionHelper logExceptions)
