I have a very huge problem.
First of all i'm a stakeolder.

Today i've decided to try this final version. I follow this guide-->http://blog.nem.io/windows-installation-guide-standalone/ and downloaded this version-->nis-ncc-0.6.25.tgz

After the installation, i try to login to my old wallet here-->http://127.0.0.1:8989/ncc/web/index.html

Nem found correctly my old wallet, i try to login, but i have this message: "ERROR 121 The address book file does not exist."

What i have to do?? Pls help!

You should delete the old wallet and all the data that was used in previous version
and create a new one.
When you open the ncc you should import your private key.
After that you will have 2 accounts in the same wallet

the primary which will be empty an the other one
that should have some your nem balance.

I suggest you check the this link
http://blog.nem.io/nem-tutorial-list/

for more detailed information.

really thanks!

i delete all the old data e create a new wallet, but i can't find how to import my private key. I see only how to show my private key and i can't find a tutorial about this.. Sad

apart from the fact that NEM is taking that route, I don't think it is

Well, this is how it looks for a guy from outside. I may be wrong.

But I think at least not putting this in the OP is a bad idea as people who are new will glance at the OP and assume there is nothing new about NEM.
How can somebody tell anything about a project, if there are ZERO information in the OP, but telling that the information is here: http://blog.nem.io/overview
I don't get it.

I humbly suggest adding this to the OP: "NEM has a 100% original codebase and over 70 team members".
Well yes, I guess this could go below the link to the overview.

EDIT: Also the OP should have XEM in the title so people who are searching for XEM on bitcointalk find this thread also Wink
I agree, I will talk to the person, who is able to change the OP.

Thanks for your ideas Smiley

I followed several cryptocommunities and I see that NEM goes the same route. And the result will be the same if you don't stop for a moment and revise the plan. What unique does NEM have that the others didn't? Emphasize these very points. I'm not talking about cool tech, Nxt clearly showed that 99% of us don't care about tech progress.

Maybe it's because I'm tired but I actually aggre with you on that (apart from the fact that NEM is taking that route, I don't think it is).
Most cryptos focus on tech, tech and tech. Solid tech is needed but adding every feature in the book just to have it is bullshit. We need to do what's necessary to gain adoption and to make people realize that NEM isn't meant to be just another crypto.

For those in the community that want to help raise awareness of NEM please use Twitter. Follow the hashtag #NEM and the official NEM Twitter account @NEMofficial. Preference would be to add unique comments, remembering to add both the hashtag and NEM account, but retweets would also be useful (within reason). Highlight the uniqueness of the coin and movement rather than the price, also worth following @poloniex as the exchange for NEM.

@Coingecko also looks an interesting Twitter user to follow but I have only been following for a few days so make your own decision

What does the euro have that the dollar doesnt? Why do we need each cryptocurrency to have something different and new? Why not just have a good amount of them and have variety ?

There is so-called "Unique Selling Points".

Well...If devs team have good marketing plan, they will hold price low,so what dumpers will dump, and good supporters will buy coins and hold them.
Each coin will die,if it starts with high price. This is law of cryptos!

Exactly. Although I disagree about Nxt. It has done very well in a very competitive crypto ecosystem.

The best things about NEM is that NEM has a 100% original codebase and over 70 team members !!

This should be in the OP!

Adding XEM into the title is also necessary so people who search for XEM (which is what NEM is trading as) will find this thread too.

Those 2 small changes will make a big difference.

I second that.

The OP contains only the information where all the information are found. Again: We did this because BTT doesnt give us the possibility to maintain the OP by more than 1 person.

Overview is here: http://blog.nem.io/overview

I wish people would just read a little bit more... We can't repeat the same stuff 10 times a day.

I like the zen op Wink I think it might be worth copying that info from the overview onto the OP though.

Personally I like it as it is, but it seems a lot of people are missing some of the info.

The OP should at least say "NEM has a 100% original codebase and over 70 team members" to make people interested enough to click through to the blog.

Just my humble suggestion as a marketing guy.

EDIT: these would look very nice in the OP

Features

NEM is built 100% from scratch (not a fork of any existing project)
NEM is built with test-driven development
NEM uses innovative Proof-of-Importance algorithm: first reputation based blockchain algorythm
NEM improves different features of POW and POS coins, being more efficient and environmentally friendly
NEM is the first crypto with delegated harvesting
NEM is the first with localized spam protection
NEM is the first with Eigentrust++ peer reputation management
NEM is the first multisig with blockchain based alerts
    NEM offers encrypted messaging
NEM is easy to install with a one click installer
NEM will offer a mobile wallet for both iOS and Android (coming soon)

Again: We can't update the OP as we like with only having 1 single person as a moderator. Thats why we moved the overview to the official blog. If we now add information on the OP, people will be demotivated to go to the overview blog, because they "already found information". I hope you understand this decision Smiley

I do.

But I think at least not putting this in the OP is a bad idea as people who are new will glance at the OP and assume there is nothing new about NEM.

I humbly suggest adding this to the OP: "NEM has a 100% original codebase and over 70 team members". That way new people who are learning about NEM will think "Wow that's actually something entirely new and what a large dev team I want to check it out!", instead of now reading about NEM on the OP and thinking "hmm looks like another clone coin".

Again, I'm just a marketing professional and I know this would be the best thing to do, but I'm not angry or anything that it isn't like that right now Wink

EDIT: Also the OP should have XEM in the title so people who are searching for XEM on bitcointalk find this thread also Wink

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Please, do not use built-in functionality, to back-up your wallet!
Most likely it will generate incorrect data and backup will NOT be usable.

You can backup your wallet manually. Files reside in ncc directory:

  • windows: c:\users\\nem\ncc\
  • mac/linux: ~/nem/ncc/

There are always two files: wallet file (.wlt) and address book file (.adb)

I think this should be added to the OP (along with a statement saying it will be fixed soon) to make sure no one loses their NEM by mistake.
The OP contains only the information where all the information are found. Again: We did this because BTT doesnt give us the possibility to maintain the OP by more than 1 person.
