I'm new to Bitcoin talk and only recently realised there was a NEM thread here. I've been working on a startup based on NEM and ProximaX in education for the last few months, and we have recently put forward a proposal for the NEM Community Fund.
I hope you will read the proposal, and if you like what we are proposing, voting for it! There are 6 days left to vote.
If you are short on time (and who isn't?), we've developed a 1-page PDF here:

RocketShoes: a NEM-Powered digital asset platform for the future of education and work.
RocketShoes is an educational platform designed for a learner centric approach and providing powerful tools to manage content in a decentralised way. Learners will be able to produce and keep track of their own learning materials, including assignments, notes, and digital assets. Organisations can manage large amounts of content in a way that is not possible with today’s systems, allowing for radically new functionality, and deep integration with the Blockchain, using ProximaX as the storage layer.

I was about to share the proposal this morning. I really like the project and the idea behind it and I hope it gets the necessary POI rate to achieve the goal. Personally I think the voting system might have to change in the future. The yes/no vote should of a higher wait and maybe the POI % reduced. With the broader distribution I don't see many people voting since many don't even know that something like community proposals exist.
