I just bought some XEM, and also downloaded the nano wallet for Mac. For some reason I don't see a public address and a receive button. I need to take my XEM from the exchange. Can anyone help me on how to get a receiving address?

@Hyjinx - With as much as you rip on NEM, I'm surprised you would own any. You are the biggest FUD troll on the forums.
This project has it's act together. You're just butthurt that you bought at $0.55 and didn't make a quick profit. You should sell out now before it goes to $1.

It isn't FUD it is serious problems with the leadership of this project.  I pretty much called XEM correcting hard while you were still sunshine and rainbows.  BTW, we're not out of the woods yet if BTC can't break and hold 9K.  I'm fully prepared to hold to the bottom and I'll probably double my stack if the price is right.  I have the luxury of doing that and not really having to take a loss on anything as long as NEM doesn't fall off the face of the Earth.  As I've said NEM is a great project with let's say subpar leadership.
Firstly, you've never outlined what your issue with the "leadership" of this project is.

Secondly, NEM is a decentralized project. If you don't like the "leadership", make your own proposals and if the community accepts it, it will be adopted. I don't see any proposals from you. It is easy to just blame anything and everything on the team, but what specifically has been your contributions? Can you point me to the pull requests?

Thirdly, NEM is part of a market. That market is crypto. The overall market and sentiment will affect its price, no matter how you slice it. If you cannot take this risk with crypto and NEM, maybe this isn't the best investment for you. BTC and NEM can easily fall a further 50%/80% respectively. Can you be fine with it? If not, get out of the market while you can instead of selling at the bottom.

I have explained a million times how terrible the decision was to "taint" coins and wallets for both ideological and practical reasons.  Those were leadership decisions and they were undoubtedly bad ones.  Lon Wong has previously said he doesn't very much care about the price of XEM.  That is very arrogant as he uses our funds to develop the platform; probably the basis for him not caring much if he freezes trading for a couple of weeks and breeds bagholders.  All-in-all Lon just strikes me as a guy with a superiority complex and no humility whatsoever.  I don't even care so much about the lack of marketing and wasn't expecting to make a quick buck but tone-deaf management is just very painful.

As for being in crypto I'm fine with all the risks - that's why I'm here.  It just always seems like this project is under performing price-wise when way worse shitcoins more-or-less maintain their BTC ratios and move with the market.  How is it even possible that EOS and Cardano have larger market caps then NEM?  Why is XEM volume so abysmal?  For whatever reason there seems to be many more times with XEM that it just doesn't keep up with even normal market movements - usually missing upside and taking it extra hard on the downside.  What are all the other shitcoins doing that NEM isn't and can we get some of that going?

MY XEM DEPOSIT TO POLONIEX DOES NOT ARRIVE WHY?
IT IS ON THE CHAIN BUT NOT ON POLONIEX

NEM foundation is working on implementing Catapult behind the scenes. Deposits are "missing" everywhere. Just hang tight, your XEM should be growing in value while you wait for it to magically reappear.
Markets have lost their downward momentum, and are in strong growth now. Might see prices waver around a bit, but overall should see a powerful comeback.

Quote from: Hyjinx
How the hell is NEM down 7% today when every other coin is green by at least 1-2%?
The market is under no obligation to make sense to you. But since you asked - people oversold. People like you joined the FUD bandwagon, but now the wind is out of your sails, the momentum has joined our side, and we shall begin to explore new heights without you.

Without me?  Haha.  I'm bagholding more XEM from $0.55 then you probably have.  I'm bagholding because of Lon Wong's exchange FUDing.  This project really needs to get it's act together quickly, and not just for my sake.

Here to help however I can.
I suspected that the hacker had already laundered a majority, if not all, of the stolen XEM. Removal of the tracking mosaic lends support to that idea.

With the dump effectively over, Hopefully now a lot more people are staking amounts of 10k+. I was able to. If anyone is waiting for the price to drop further - I wouldn't wait. Time and time again, XEM has shown resistance to any push below 30 jpy. And with volumes matching those at the peak in January, it would be easy to speculate on solid growth for the future.

Yesterday the price of XEM looked very attractive, I would have known that today there will be such growth, would buy a lot of XEM below 25 cents, maybe there will be more than one price drop and I will be able to purchase Smiley

NEM has had a significant tumble because the hack, within light from the broader endure market. A few see how this affects the cost.
These events are beyond our control. Over a longer period of time, let's see how this impacts the project.

MY XEM DEPOSIT TO POLONIEX DOES NOT ARRIVE WHY?

IT IS ON THE CHAIN BUT NOT ON POLONIEX

I have a withdrawel at Polo, NEM equivalent 25000 USD, completed, it says. Doesn´t even show up on the blockchain.
The TX ID is pulled out their ass, it´s pure fiction. So for two weeks now i have been stolen 25000 USD.
Support ? Nothing ! As allways.
Hope, i will learn now . . .

I had something similar with NEM withdrawels at poloniex.

One time they would go through fine, the next time they would get stuck. I figured it had something to do with how much NEM was in their hot wallet. You should check the address that they normally send NEM from to you to see if it is loaded.

Never had issues when it was fully loaded, but when it was low or empty, withdrawels would get stuck untill support handles it. Somehow it doesn't automatically queue the withdrawel again or something.

Thanks for your answer !
But isn´t their hotwallet their responsibility ?

Anyway, i´ll keep you guys (and girls) updated on this, here.
For now, stay away from Poloniex, until they get their act together . . .

I don't know why everything is taking so long these days. Only working with bitter right now but not happy at all with the exchanges

Thank God I'm an atheist
what is the nem documentation like?

is it considered easy to use, if not, is this some low hanging fruit that can be easily remedied?

http://docs.nem.io/

Not bad in my opinion
