It looks like NEM is slowly heading back up after the recent correction, so sure, good investment opportunity. Buy on the dip, etc. The "dip" just happens to be $1.64 at the moment 
so amazing how the baseline can change in such a short time. Not long ago 0.20$ was the hovering line. 2$+ would not suprise me in anyway as new base soon

I think the meticulous work spirit of the Japanese, NEM can develop to today, become a global market value very high project, this is worthy of respect.

NEM (XEM) coin is developing, in May, it showed enormous pump, and now it is on a dump (-7.80%) so I will probably invest!

Frankly I don't know what's driving the price so high. Cashing out to bitcoin and then cash seems to be the most sane way to spend it.
I checked the original website (nem.io) and they don't offer a list of vendors that accept NEM for anything. I believe its one of the more technologically advanced coin platforms out there, but unless you run a business and plan on paying people using NEM or a token developed on the NEM platform, there's not much to do with it.
The last thing I did with NEM is buy about $100 worth of Internet of Coins (IoC) during their ICO.... I think the ICO is legit but after several months its still under development. So pretty much all you can do with it, as far as I know, is buy other coins....
That doesn't mean it won't someday be adopted by merchants or have some other utility. But given the fact that there's several billion of them, I recommend selling them. The price seems way too high, as many other commenters here have been saying.
PS: DON'T use Poloniex to cash out your coins. They will likely just sit on them. Courtesy of the Poloniex support staff:

I tried many times to Verify my profile in poloniex but failed.
Now I have to pay 0.01 ETH to withdraw 1.7ETH from it.
It is really unacceptable. But I have to withdraw anyway.
Maybe there is too few workers in Poloniex?
Their ticket support gives immediately a "warning" that the handling of the ticket takes more time than usually.

In a month the percentage of TOP50 has increased from 52.3 % to 53.4 %.
E.g. Coincheck's wallet was 383 M and now it is 510 M.
Some Nembers has sold some of their XEMs, and the Exchanges are buying all they can get ??
Edit: But Poloniex's cold wallet is in the same position than month ago. The Poloniex's hot wallet has lost some weight: 46 M to 10 M.

There have been a lot of meetups, conferences which as result raised awareness around NEM blockchain tech. Recent price jump seems more organic price increase than just pumps.

All of their predictions look exceedingly linear to me.
I would be happy with such a price rise, but I think there is even more possible for NEM this year

What you are talking about? NEM almost hit new ATH vs. BTC like few days a go, and surely can do it soon.

But on the other hand - look, same is happening to Stellar, Ripple, Cardano, this thing TRON. Does it mean that all of them reached the max pump (no organic growth)?
Yes, organic growth ! it slowly creeps in. And then it´s worth, what it´s worth.
