NEM Beta 0.6.79
Nebulous, Earthshaking, Minty
As some of you might have already noticed we have a new release.

Planned fee changes are postponed to one of subsequent releases.

Reduced memory footprint by reorganizing how node experiences are exchanged.
Fixed bug in scheduler which could make scheduled tasks stall.
Issue discovered by @Quantum_Mechanics (and possibly someone else earlier), details will be disclosed at a later date.
Upgrade is mandatory.

Then this guy is not an average 3rd world inhabitant when he is able to run six supernodes with at least 3,000,000 XEM (around 18,000 USD) each. Or 108k USD in total.
He was rich before and now he found a way to fund a living without acutal work.

i know a guy who lives in a 3rd world country that runs 6 supernodes.
He quit his job 2 months ago and is now living off the rewards generated by the 6 nodes.

He didnt buy at todays price. He got in over a year ago. Yes he is an average joe in a 3rd world.

When the price could back to 0.00002 Undecided

With catapult done as devs are promising and some other industrial use of XEM it will jump over 2k-5k area.
If those tx/s will go >1000 i am sure it will climb easy, that would be really good theology to base at for companies
with minimal entry cost.

Hey, there is not a lot of discussion needed here.
If you think the amount is too much, and you're entitled to have that opinion, than don't run a supernode. It's that simple.

wtf? where should i discuss that then? is this thread only to "xem to moon" related discussion?? fuc* off dude.

Thank you very much. I think you misunderstood my point.
I was trying to say everybody is entitled to his or her opinion, can have specific arguments and can come to different conclusions.

and with that i can agree, that's why i've explained my reasons and i dont have any problem with nodes owners. if i were one of the early investors i would definitely make one.

ok, I didn't realise that. So supernodes aren't like NXT forging where a bigger balance earns proportionately more fees, that's interesting.

Supernode is external founding program reserved founds are from 1st block.
Founds for that program are reserved for 2 years that is about 1 000 m NEM.
Probably plan is that supernode will get founds from money from services like domain reservation token creaction etc later
and suff like that. Ofcourse you will get more xem in return while usual harveting (forging, stacking) if you have more NEM
on acc but you allso will get more xem if you use more your wallet.

interesting, so are 6 supernodes with 3M each better than 1 supernode with 18M?

the balance doesn't mean anything, as long as u have 3m thats all it counts.
each node gets a reward, so yes you need to split them up.

the point is: i like xem, i would like to support xem... but still, i dont think it worth.
i can only make a critique if it is positive?

It's a ludicrous idea to put 30 BTC into something to get a trickle in return but I'll guess the price rise hadn't been anticipated when it was set up.

It's really only viable for people who already have an early stack and are in it for the long run which is exactly the right demographic needed.

The whole point of the supernodes is to be the backbone of the system. You wouldn't want people who were chopping and changing all the time as they'd add nothing but instability.

running a supernode is a good option for guys who don't make income from day-trading. if you don't trade you need an income stream to live on, and supernodes could easily pay the rent one day, but I agree, it's for rusted on NEMsters who accumulated a stack in the early day (or sock masters from jan-feb 2014)
