Harvesting is going AWESOME, maybe its just luck, but my wallet is nowhere near being fully vested and I am cranking out a three digit reward every other day.

Hello,
I want to start delegate harvesting, I tried over 15 IPs from the NEM-NodeExplorer but I still get the same Errorafter i replace "localhost" with one of the Node-IPs  Huh

Error 500
500: Internal Server Error

Can you show an image the settings? If the server you want to use can't add another harvester you should get a different message.

...
Is it possibe that all nodes which I tried to connect a full?
I remeber last time I start delegate harvesting I also tried a few IPs till I was connected to a node,.....but how can I see that a node have free slots ?

It is possible but i see that people are adding them all time. (sopernode for sure reward is dropping all time so we have new supernode)
If you try harves it writes if it have harvest slots or not. Now there is about 180 supenodes so there is about ~1000 slots for havesting.
Node don't need to be super to make harvesting but if its locan it can be shutted down.

Do you have 10000 vested XEM? Also is you NIS fully sync?

Yes, it´s a genesis Account with over 1.000.000 vested over a year and everything is sync

Backup your wallet and then reinstall the NIS/NRS system of NEM . Maybe it will work. That is just a suggestion. Carefully back up first your wallet.

Congrats to the investors on the price rise. What do you guys think caused the price rise? I mean this isn't just a plain old regular pump, this is a MAJOR price move. So there must be something in the fundamentals that caused this.
DAO hack forced people to look for new promising tech and they found NEM.

You think that's the only reason? If it is really that then the people could also leave and dump NEM the same way they did with Ethereum. But since you mentioned it, what makes NEM better than Ethereum? And how will it surpass other cryptocurrencies in terms of speed of mainstream adoption?
Well then this article is exactly what you want to read, I suppose:
http://blog.nem.io/whats-the-difference-between-xem-btc-and-eth/

That's a good article. Thanks for sharing. In it was mentioned that in NEM you can create custom coins. My question is how and what are they used for in the platform? Do the users themselves create and issue these? And for what reasons are they doing it?

Xem rebounded well in the past 2 days. Strong indication that people gonna hodl it for a very long time and it is stable enough for another bull run in the next 4 months or so.

quick question guys.
if my public and private key is compromised, but they don't have my password. Is my xem still safe?

private key is everything, with this your XEM are compromised!

What about another scenario where my wallet file is stolen. Can the funds be withdrawn without knowing the password?
The password is required to get the private keys right?

Yes the wallet file is encrypted with password so you need password to get to privarekeys stored in wallet. But when atacker has your wallet file he has all the time in the world to break it so strong password is required.

Public Key is no problem, that's why it's called public ;-)
Private Key must not be compromised. That's why it's called private ;-)
Sounds simple, but with the Password it becomes a little more complicated.

A wallet's Password gives access to the wallet, which can contain one or multiple accounts. A compromised password can be used by someone who has also access to the wallet file (.wlt).
With access to the Password and the wallet, one can open the wallet and have access to all accounts (default one) inside the wallet.

When you create a new wallet, one new account with its own Private Key will be generated.
Additional accounts can be created. A random new Account Number and Private Key pair will be generated. They will be added to the wallet.
Existing accounts can be imported with the private key of the account. This can be done in any wallet. The same account can therefore also be added to multiple wallets.

So can I have my computer fully shutdown and it will still harvest? when using delegated harvasting. let me know please. thanks in advance.

Yes if you use delegated harvesting on another computer you can shut down your computer.

This is a tricky answer. lol
So what if I'm only using 1 computer..
Because you said "If I use delegated harvesting on ANOTHER computer" you mean who ever picked up my delegated harvesting for me? sorry just a little confused.

When you´re using delegated harvesting, the Supernodes do the harvesting for you. So your Computer must not run.

Everytime I turn the computer and then log in to my wallet again I had to start my delegated harvesting again. I thought it would still be on. can you correct me if im wrong. Thanks

your computer has to be on actively trying to make a block.  your wallet or browser don't need to be open.  then important thing is that NIS is on and harvesting.

Harvesting is one of those things making people don't understand NEM, and I must say I'm one of them. I've been using harvesting (and delegated harvesting) for quite long, but I still don't get how it works, and what's exactly going on there. Ocassionally, delegated harvesting stops, and you need to launch it manually again. Sometimes, a node switches off and doesn't re-appear for longer time, so you're stuck (I ended up with wallet reinstallation due to this). At times, you need to de-activate delegated harvesting and activate it again, because it doesn't work anymore due to strange errors being reported with numbers and meaningless messages. The harvested amounts are just peanuts, so from investor's point of view harvesting is not an incentive to keep your XEMs long term.

I had a bit of trouble understanding it too, but basically if the server shuts down for any reason, you need to reconnect to the server to send the key for harvesting. If you message bloodyrookie he has some servers named alice that you can give him the harvesting key for and he will keep it harvesting for you Smiley

Here's a video someone did awhile back on Delegated Harvesting:
