Hi guys, will xem issue gold phicical coins to first 1200? ppl on the 2014 distribution list?  any recent discussion cover this topic?      just ask.

why only first 1200 ppl?

Yes, I believe it were around 3000 who joined on time as well. I was too late myself.
But no regrets, I discovered this gem on time and had to study and learn a lot to start seeing its big potential, which i happily did.
The same can happen to you, just don't expect it to come from somebody else ...

I think he got the figure wrong, i think it was over 3000 initial stakeholders created from the genesis block that he is referring to.

The volume was huge , still is on polo, was over 10kbtc at one point.

has there been no recent news, someone told me something about japan?

Something I posted awhile back:

Why should I buy XEM?
note: I have read and done my research, I just want to here it from one of the investors. Smiley

here's some recent developments:

The public/private blockchain model with NEM/Mijin:
http://mijin.io/en/633.html

Dragonfly Partners with Microfinance Company in Malaysia
https://news.bitcoin.com/malaysian-remittance-dragonfly-fintech/

Japanese BANK Testing with NEM Tech:
http://themerkle.com/sbi-sumishin-net-bank-trials-blockchains-in-financial-accounting-systems/

Infoteria partners with Dragonfly:
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/infoteria-to-partner-with-dragonfly-fintech-300252763.html

This along with devs/team that delivers time and time again.  You will find no hype here.  Just results!

This is not to mention Supernodes, Namespaces/Mosaics, as well as the tech itself,  lots of stuff in the pipeline, & a low market cap of ~$40 million, lots more room to grow!

Also, XEM was added to another exchange https://zaif.jp/trade_xem_jpy with a direct fiat link XEM/JPY.

But do your own due diligence

Good! Will do. I just jumped into Bitcoin less than 3 weeks ago. I'm a designer and I see it going far! I'm in for the long run... w/long run type positions. Very Very new and exciting to me. I'll be chatting off and on.
So as you new you have to know that investing on pump and xem is in pump phase is dangerous.
Look at that:

Where those coins now Cheesy ? why people who believing in next BTC were wrong in thinking that one of those coins will be next big one,
you need research a bit. To be honest there is not many coins with devs delivering something NEM fresh.
Crypto like seasons if some coin is successful then you see spam of cheaper clones.
Outcome of clones is usually bad as you see but technology pioneers are getting hit too.
There is a lot of scams around so if something looks like scam smells like scam to good to be true Cheesy...
yea this is scam. So beware. Every coin on every thread is going to bypass BTC Cheesy...
every coin is going to moon. (1/10 is doing 20x rise but rest not, research why )

Most important rule is to not buy on pump, the higher coin is in market cap the higher chance that it will go down,
look at coin market cap and you will see that going down part is much longer than going up.

Thanks! Is NEM still on a pump? I'll con't to read and research going forward.... and also trying to by NEM cheap... Ha...! Who wants to sell?

I assume a lot of those here trying to say it's "no good" saw the first threads about NEM 2 years ago laughed and pushed it to the side.
They come back now spewing negativity because they can't believe what 2 years of constant developing can do to a coin like NEM. Same story all over btctalk, except NEM is walking the talking.

There is a lot of things going on behind the scenes with NEM, and there are big players in the financial world taking a good look at NEM. The rise in price was well deserved.

Can someone explain whats ICO and why is scary and bad?

It stands for Initial Coin Offering. The developers ask for a pile of money upfront to 'fund' their setup. Sometimes they run off before the coin even gets going. Other times they know the coin's going to sell for a certain amount at its release and dump their own holdings before it collapses as everyone else dumps. It might also attract a small number of very large investors so it'll centralise the distribution.

Maybe the poster is thinking primarily of the NXT ICO which was cut short before a lot of people had the chance to get in. It was also one of the very first so there was a lot of scepticism. The end result was that all the coins were distributed to a tiny number of people, less than seventy some think.

NEM's equivalent was much lengthier and there was more scrutiny so it was spread further and wider. There might be more major holders now than when it was launched as it's been around a while now.

only info i found online was the fact that 60-70 btc invested in ICO ? is that correct? if so that is very scary considering that would mean there is some huge bag holders out there with millions if not billions of coins that could dump?

Just a Question, are there some considerations to low down the Xem for running a supernode, from 3 to maybe 1 million Xem?.

From my point of view, it would attract some more people to be a part of this history. For the average people its now to expensive to build a supernode (and even 1mio Xem is incredible high for so many people in the world) , the goal and intension of this project has always been to take so many people as possible to a bigger picture.

Yup. Volume is insane. It did hit over 1000 BTC on there a few times before but fell back very rapidly. That could happen again.

Asia in general is where most of the developments are happening. Private versions of NEM are being experimented with and a couple of deals have been signed to use them.

They're NEM based, but not on the NEM chain itself so it's a vote of confidence in the tech but not much else yet. Perhaps there'll be applications that cross over.

And I second the above. Those buying in after a ginormous pump are likely to end up feeling sad for a while at the very least. Only you can decide.

Hey guys.. Im new to NEM, thinking about buying some, a big amount about 5-15 btc not decided how much yet.

im doing my research now, can the knowledgeable NEM users that are here for tech not the price let me know why NEM is a good altcoin compared to the 500 other altcoins out there.

i guess the community here know why the coin has been pumping,
like any pump just before halving im a bit suspicious!!

was there some genuine news that meant the coin would be effected directly which would mean demand for the coin would be up or is it just some pump group for halving trying to get more BTC.

would really appreciate the experience NEM users letting me know what they think ?

thank you   Huh Grin

All the coins were created at birth. There is no inflation.

As for sinister people holding millions, the process for weeding out initial stakeholders was extremely intensive, perhaps too intensive in the view of a few people, so the initial distribution is nothing like as bad as NXT was.

The distribution was spread between a couple of thousand or so people and there were opportunities to cash in before the coin even launched. It's been around for a good while so quite a few will have dumped and spread them.

No idea about the pump, but my guess it was ETH/DAO money looking for a new toy so it may not last. Having said that it's on a lot more radars now so perhaps they'll become enamoured of it.

For a start, NEM is not an "altcoin" in other words, its been developed from ground up with no BTC code, its unique unlike all the copycat BTC/LTC clones out there.

NEM has a very advanced blockchain designed for high transaction rates in future, the blockchain has already been independently tested by third parties and financial institutions are trailing this technology as we speak.

There is much more than this that i could go on several pages, but basically the results speak for themselves and we are not driven by any hype, the proof is in the pudding. Smiley

thanks for your response.
every altcoin page you go to you will get the same sort of response, our coin/code is unique, not that im doubting you in anyway but that doesnt fill me with confidence.

the price has been veru steady for months, some sort of development or news must have cause the recent price action, im just trying to understand if its a good long term investment or the recent price action is due to some pump group.

i asked on tradingview bot nobody knew anything, is NEM numbers fixed or new coins mined daily like eth, i dont like investing in coins with the daily inflation, is nem growing daily or fixed.

only info i found online was the fact that 60-70 btc invested in ICO ? is that correct? if so that is very scary considering that would mean there is some huge bag holders out there with millions if not billions of coins that could dump?

I agree, too many shitcoins out there, most will be gone in 12 months, too many BTC/LTC clones.
Only unique projects that bring something new to the table will succeed long term, XEM is one of them and IMO has the highest chance out of most alternatives to BTC.

We were in a pump phase, but i think if there was going to be a major dump we would have seen it already.
We were seriously undervalued and off the radar for a while it seems (except Japan perhaps) so we are sitting at a realistic value now.

I think that most of the pump likley came from Japan anyway on Poloniex, since so many were asking questions on the trollbox etc.

HODL long term and accumulate while you can when its cheap, just put a small amount aside each week as your funds allow.
In the future, you wont regret! Smiley
