I think we will see $10 NEM.
1 XEM = $100 USD sounds about right.

Personally, I will be surprised if NEM doesn't eventually surpass NXT. And, if things break right, it could be much larger.

I won't comment on the former two, but the later is already true...

Is there a roadmap re future development? I can't see any reference to one on the OP.

head on over to the NEM forum for details

If 1 XEM = 1 USD, then NEM network would be worth 9 billion USD - it's more than BTC today. Everything is possible, but I have impression that unfortunately NEM is being undervalued by crypto community. Its closed source, and not easy to use for average Joe. Obviously I wish it was 1 USD cos I hold small stake just in case :-)

Cheesy I wish I was a stakeholder as well, so many free coins! I think in the future this will become legendary, like the guy who got a pizza for 10k bitcoins or something, now people had the opportunity to get free XEM basically, imagine when 1 XEM=1 USD or more...

Hey, I paid at least $25 for mine so it hasn't been a free ride at all. I did top up for vastly more in the NXT AE stage. I should've waited for open exchange action but it's still been gravy.

Hopefully their expanding of the Zaif exchange will include NEM!
I kind of think it's not such a bad thing if they get a strong market share in btc trading first before adding nem. If they get really big first and then add nem it will have a much larger impact than if they added nem and then got big.

To a noob reading such an article it might not mean that much. To me, it's one of the signals that NEM is heading mainstream, when you compare the benefits NEM has over bitcoin, it's a no-brainer that NEM could possibly dethrone bitcoin as the number one crypto currency somewhere in the near future. NEM is settled in every major Japanese crypto currency platform, Japan is also the most technologically advanced country in the world, it's just a matter of time...I like how NEM takes it time to build solid fundamentals before doing marketing, coming up with fashionable designs for the wallet etc. It's just pure raw blockchain functionality in all its wonder colors and flavours. I am very much looking forward to the future of NEM  Smiley.

Mijin and NEM API's are fully interchangeable. Noteworthy: Mijin referred the API documentation on bob.nem.ninja to their customers.
In other words any company that was testing Mijin initially ( I don't know about the status now...) used the NEM API as reference!

Based on volume of last months, none of the companies in the Japaneses consortia and mijin related initiatives seem to be investing in NEM. Or not yet?
Not knowing would be an easy explanation and could be the case for a part of those companies.

But those really working on mijin solutions would have to consult the documentation I suppose and would therefore be aware of the link with NEM.
Then why wouldn't they invest more in XEM? Probably because they do not see, as some of us, how XEM would benefit from mijin solutions (yet). Or even worse, they don't believe in it.

Only those building the applications would know. As long as it is unknown what the new applications will do, value of XEM will probably remain low.
Is somebody aware of what is being built and is willing to explain it a little?
Anybody?

These organisations are probably concentrating on using the tech for cost savings within their business at the moment and they are quite new to the scene (many of us here are way ahead of the curve). Im sure someone somewhere will have a brainwave and consider it advantageous to invest funds into XEM as a likely means of transferring values. We will suddenly see NEM pop up a lot higher on COINMARKETCAP.COM
