This is not accurate. Unless you enjoy the drama, you can feel free to add more FUD. Not long time ago it was Lon who lead NEM all the way to billions in market cap. Away from the tiny NEM foundation funding issues: The reality is that today the NEM ecosystem is stronger than ever with very solid dev, community and catapult innovations. It is catapult innovations that open the door for projects such as ProximaX. Not only we "NEM community" should support ProximaX but we should support all similar projects. I do not see any value in attacking any current or previous NEM leads/devs/projects.
It is pure ignorance to call ProximaX a sh** coin. Go read their recently published technical papers solving very complex problems that will benefit NEM directly or indirectly sooner or later.
There's zero proof or suspicion he's stolen anything but his conduct has not been exactly impressive at times. However it is his right. Almost everyone in this space is totally self serving.
I've observed his behaviour on the Telegram channels for ages. If he's called out on anything all he does is attack.
I remember reading he was instrumental in making NIS closed source and that's probably been the main cause of NEM's never ending invisibility. As soon as he had an open source sandbox to play with then off he went.
ProximaX is a competitor as well as a collaborator in certain areas. It does show how NEM has been throwing away time and effort. ProximaX has people who deliver and then they go out and hustle with the results. The NEM core developers certainly deliver and then not a great deal happens afterwards. That looks like the direction the new leadership is heading towards and that's how it should've been all along.
We trust and should support the new NEM foundation. There were lots of FUD last week around how useless to have a foundation. It is time to show the strength of the NEM community by supporting the new leads.
You are right about how NEM wasted time and resources in parts of 2017 and 2018. Every stage requires different strategy we can not go all the way all the time with a single strategy. Should be flexible enough to change and adapt. It is all about how we can adapt to any situation. IMO NEM is still too strong. Open sourcing catapult is a key for NEM success. The more it is used the more the ecosystem will grow in terms of communities, devs and awareness. I do not like the fact that catapult is taking tooooo long to be used by NEM publicly. The real problem here is that too much development is taking place in catapult as a private chain. I trust in the NEW foundation to change that. They are already nailing the most critical problems.
Please be aware that though the current published open sourced catapult includes lots of innovative features it is still useless. Cause it is only good to run in a trustful environment as a "private chain". It doesn't include any sort of trustless consensus to run as a public chain. So to be accurate here, the NEM dev team didn't really through away any of the real hard work "Consensus". ProximaX added proof-of-stake consensus following NXT principles. The real question here is what NEM is planning to do in developing catapult public consensus? Why NEM is behind? I am not aware of any news in that regards. And if it is in progress, Why the NEM community is not informed about such critical development process?
Enough FUD Nemers, lets get down solving real issues. and keep in mind that NEM was originally NO ENVY MOVEMENT!
