Agree, this is to see how markets react. Japan (and many others) are in deep sh£$ and this just shouts desperation. Abenomics anyone?

how about adding the functionality of a smart-contracts and to provide the platform for modern crypto-money business model? I think that adding this function would give weight and popularity

Thanks for sharing!

By the way, I am getting the warning sign, too. But only in Chrome. Firefox and Safari are skipping the warning.

Could someone explain in a few words what namespaces and mosaics are?
Or could someone point me to a site where the features are explained?

Check these out:

(Im getting a warning sign again on nem.io?)

mining is so 2012-2013
The fork is due really soon.

What is the ETA on the fork?

if we're running .6.72 client are we OK?

.72 should be fine. Afaik .73 was only a bugfix.
I think last I heard was feb 1st for the fork. Better to check the block count and wait for 440k as that's what it actually depends on not a specific date or time.

correct.  0.72 was a minor update for bugs and is fine if the bugs aren't bothering you.

Some of you might be thinking about getting a namespace for yourself, or maybe trying to squat on one. I have had some discussions and questions asked privately, so I wanted to give you a tip of the right way to do it.

Namespaces are not yet transferable, though we hope to someday make this possible.

Interestingly enough while namespaces can not be transferred, accounts in NEM can!

Yes, NEM has an amazing little feature I haven't ever seen in any other platform, and one that isn't discussed much, but the way NEM's multisig architecture is set up, you can transfer entire accounts intact from third party to third party.

This is done by make the account a 1 of 1 signer and passing the power of the account to another person.  So for instance if I squat on the name "Alice" and later somebody wants to buy it from me, I convert it into a multisig account and then make the other person the signer.  They now have full control over the account and there isn't anything I can do about it.  This transfer can even be done with a neutral third party acting as an escrow signer.

So my advice is if you are squatting is to put each namespace in its own account, at which point it can the be sold and transferred to others.

The process is a lot longer and you would have lots of keys to back up than just buying them all on once account, but you have some security knowing they are transferable.

It might be worth adding that squatting is not going to be as cheap as on most platforms. You're gonna have to renew your namespace every year to keep it. You might wanna think hard if it's worth all those XEM to squat popular names that noone will ever buy from you. Ask all the squaters from other platforms how much they made with their names, alias' whatever they are called and then factor in that's it costs regularly not just once Smiley

vested    Angry Sad Sad  need how long time ?? or how i know that coins is vested or not yet

Every day 10% of the unvested xem will vest. So if you really got 100k xem on that account, 1 day will be enough to have 10k xem vested.

i already sent 500K  Undecided Undecided Undecided
and keep other 500K for trading

But I dont know rewards will be how much Sad

me I installed wallet in windows dedicated server online 99.9% with 100 Mbit connection speed

I dont know rewards for these 500K coins ,,,just trying ,, lose too much for withdraw this coins Sad
god please... just forget about your 500k in your wallet for a month or two and then have a look how much you've harvested.
the speed of your connection doesn't matter.

After two months even if harvested too much xem coins this no useful .. because the price after two months will become low ... see xem trent short ... for this reason I asked what is the rewards for harvesting xem ... no one answer my questing clearly ....I want to know harvesting depend on what exactly ... also no one answer my question clearly ... what I want to know if harvesting is good reward then I keep harvesting ... if not then I cancel this and continue trading because I saw who want sell xem is very huge comparing with who want buy. ... that is all

No one answered your question clearly ? We practically took you by the hand. You're clearly not willing to read up on anything or invest even the smallest bit of time to figure things out.
Not to mention all the questions you asked were answered like 10 times in this thread since the price went up because understandably new people need some help. You are a special kind of ignorant though.

You won't get any kind of satisfying reward from harvesting so please go back to trading if you wish.

How is NEM related to japanese or japan again I recall reading? Just hours ago Japan implemented negative interest rates.
