It's very easy to scam people on Social media because it is on Social media scammers shows what they are good at, they are so smart to convince someone who is not careful. Like in some scam trading platform their are scammers there who act like members of the platform to promote the platform by saying good things about it. A new genuine member who just joined such platform can be easy to get by seeing how the platform is been promoted.

So many persons have fallen victim of this circumstances of being in a haste in making money,or trying to make money by all means without waiting for the proper time to do that.Many have died just to make quick money,and the worst thing is that when this money is made,spending it wisely becomes another issue they have,because any money that is not made genuinely could be spent on something reasonable or will be reasonably spent.
We must not be in a haste in life,waiting for the right time is the best.

Well, what could we do when it happens in the past I myself have no idea either but for someone who wants to invest it's always a good choice to learn everything first or do some research before investing because investment is not just putting a money to grow it takes some knowledge and skills to make some profit about it.

Fear of missing out might be one of the reason why you choose a poor decision when it comes to investment. Never be in a hurry if you don't know what you are doing or you don't have a knowledge about of what you are about to invest.

That is how I escaped from being scammed.

When engaging to new environment or ideology always remember to DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, and never base your first knowledge in hearsay. Always go by the book and never go by the gossip. Your experience is the best example to always DYOR, if you haven't trust your gut you might end up like your friend. Especially in today's time, scammers are spreading fast here in the crypto community, so always be on the watch and read the whitepaper and investigate the team of your prospect project where you will invest in.

That is why we should not be too quick to believe what we read from social media and that is also my reason for using social media less.
Getting rich is just a matter of time for us depending on what we do so don't give up and keep trying and enjoy the process.
Many people want to get rich quickly by using various methods but they do not think that all the methods they use do not necessarily help them become rich.
But if we continue to focus on doing what we started while patiently trying other ways, we will get what we want later and the process won't lie to us.

Where do you get the idea to join some crypto groups in social media for the research? There are too many scammers in social media, it is too risky doing research in such place, especially you don't really understand how the scammers work. I don't say it is forbidden to join crypto groups, but don't join random crypto groups. Only join trusted crypto groups that you know well if they have a good reputation.

Regarding a message on social media accounts, kindly ignore all of the non-sense messages because most of them are just scammers. Especially the messages that contain too sweet offers about crypto, we simply can suspect them the scam messages.

This has always been a terrible idea that leads to being scammed. And not just the scam you explained where they fool you into a bad trade where they rob you but I'm talking about misinformation and pump and dump groups. You join these groups to "learn" more, possibly involving how and what to trade and end up receiving a lot of wrong information that they are giving you to benefit themselves. For example they advertise a shitcoin that they want to dump because they want YOU to buy it from them.

One thing we all need to learn on the internet, and this is not limited to bitcoin, is to learn where to get our information from and whether that information is reliable. Social media is not the right place for it.

A very good point here, When the source of your information is legit, you will not fall victim to a scam.
I was once told by my mentor that anything that involves buying and selling online, do not be in a hurry to buy and do not be in a hurry to sell because it will help you to identify someone that wants to scam you.
Right now we have so many bitcoin platforms but you need the rightful information to know where you ought to invest in.

Without even using OP's story for a case study, one has got to know that it's not always good to be in a rush over anything. Mistakes are bound to happen and even accidents too. Life ain't no formula1, even in formula1 cars and bikes gets burnt (such a scary sight).

In context of what is being discussed, setting you on a pace is one strategy scammers tends to develop on. Once your there, you hardly think of anything else other than how fast you can make your investment and start getting profits off it. Once you make your first commitment, you seem bounded by it and the next you know, your loses keep piling up.

These accounts for why you should always DYOR before making any commitment and always incest what your ready to loose.

About that, maybe you had more experience than me but that could be just in my end that I always avoid crypto stuffs in social media platforms as mostly I see a lot of spam comment from fake profile or "clone" of whatever crypto page that is claiming that they're doing a giveaway that's just purely BS as they wanted you to send them 1-2 ETH for "cOnfIrmation". I appreciate the advice, by the way. Thank you for the correction.

This is one of the reasons I don't respond to the pm of someone I don't know on telegram. Any pm you received will end up advising you to join their telegram group and invest with them.
It's terrible that scammers are on the high rising on telegram, creating different formats to dupe people's funds.
Lucky you that you didn't fall victim to their trap. It would have been an unforgettable experience

False testimony on telegram is now a old trick but newbies still fall for this trick, to be honest is a very deadly scheme for those who don't know about crypto before, a friend lost 8,000$ to one of this trick on telegram after warning him myself, I was new to crypto at the time too but I have few set of rules and the most important one is nothing comes easy which is why I don't like free things.

One thing about scam is that the victims pay for their ignorance.
