30645  LoyceV   - That target is a yearly one if I ever saw it, so you are talking about the very last day possible for this contest.    The reason being we would not really be talking BTC at that point but destabilisation of dollar value.    The volatility to reach 30k in such a brief time would be gigantic, it would indicate high inaccuracy in pricing and a market which was extremely surprised by a result or occurrence in events.     High volatility is not especially considered a positive so in under a month I dont think so.    Dollar like sterling before it can decline in usage as a world currency, I dont wish for any of that but its quite a probable scenario but we're talking like a decade scenario and if that occurs BTC or various other alternatives could rise to this 30k pricing possibly.   Nobody knows, I'd hope BAKKT is part of that story but not sure.   My estimate was just a retrace guess.

Price has reset down as soon as I noted how positive it was acting, just cycling in a range for the moment I guess

So 12 days until BAKKT will issue a delay and market will take a nose dive liquidating all the longs and then shots up back short squeezing. DAMN, all i want is to avoid using banks and just live my life 100 % on the blockchain...

Don't know how many times we are going to go down and see bitcoin dump. Its been a year now and bitcoin is on the decline. I wonder when it will stop and we see a constant growth ?  (Although I still trust and hope that bitcoin will be boom again one day)

how LONG of a delay for BAKKT would be needed for LOYCE's price to hit?
cause i can't believe if it would launch this month.... that in the next 17 days price would rally that hard

Old person and super rich correlate more highly then young person so I'm not super surprised but yea WB aint a young man, he was old in the 90's (to me).      Warren is quite select in his portfolio where as I think many extremely rich people are willing to take diverse investments (which we obviously appreciate as a good thing) because of the growth potential being so much more gigantic in extreme new projects especially for technology.      But other circumstances like this would be like after a war, its a high risk event in some ways because you must judge the war is actually over this time and there is a distinct lack of capital in that area hence the high returns.   Sri Lanka I think was the last one I heard mentioned, by Jim Rogers I think

Theres whole books on the ideas of diversification being a form of security for a portfolio, I'm not well versed but I dont think its a one off that people are always looking for opportunities in areas out of the mainstream and BTC is still an outer space type area imo

We're back to the 4200 area and I'd hope this is really not a cap for top expectations.   I read a few minutes ago by yet another billionaire, of his quick estimate of 5000 for BTC as he was talking the FED chief and more 'dovish' language, hence risk on reversal in markets, etc

If 4200 isnt the top then I'm way more optimistic we touch the real ceiling which was the previous floor and thats the 6000 area and really we deserve a good argument in this area, surely my bet was a good one

I'm not surprised rich people can throw a couple million bucks at something, they can afford to lose it, and if they do this often enough, at least some of their investments will pay off.
What surprises me, is that he's 2 years older than Warren Buffett! I didn't expect that.

absolutely no idea who's in best papers to win this game.....

bakkt has no reason to buy bitcoins. they're not launching a physically-backed ETF. they'll have a digital "vault" that bitcoin owners will deposit into, and that will back bakkt's future contracts.

i believe approval was delayed because of the holidays and CFTC procedure. it definitely won't be launched by january 24th now because the CFTC hasn't even begun the 30-day public comment period yet.
