It's good that you don't find it, I don't like links in this thread.
The difference is:
1. Them not calculate every action. They give prise for biggest (as i understood).
2. They really have lags on server and client
3. They builds site year ago (kudos to the creators)
4. I don't understand their design and interface (someone have to rework it)
I found them after I build mine.
Check ping to our site. Maybe your internet too bad, or you located too far from EU. Our server located in Netherlands and tested to have no any lag with 1000 users. Limit is set to 500.
This moment:
Connected players: 347/500
Players: 347 - Bots:0
Server has been running for 796 minutes
Current memory usage: 23.4/52
Current game mode: Free For All
Current update time: 8.280 [ms] (perfectly smooth)
Or maybe you use shitty computer and have problems with client execution.

Second, how are you going to find out about people teaming up together.?
I actually love agar.io so really wanna try this.
Basically two simple things
1. Every user get randomly scrambled coordinates for every run
2. When you eat - you get only a part of prey mass, the rest is distributed as feed. When teamers recombine the mass with friends them mostly lose from this more, than win from prey. When single player eats, he get less than mass of prey , but it's always positive income.
+ a couple of things are locking minions and feeder bots. Boter account can be locked forever. Skills based game always is victim of bots.
