I'm not really sure what an EPS style is, so I'm not sure what options would be optimal, and I couldn't upload it as an image. Photoshop did have an option to save it as an EPS though, so I uploaded it here: http://www.2shared.com/file/oXdn4aXn/bitcoin.html

i can make a SVG version Smiley

That's a great idea, I'll create some with that as well. Any other suggestions?

Maybe "crypto" instead of cryptography. The latter makes the phrase a bit clunky.

Another version...
Also, I'll just put this stuff under a Deviantart account, which you can check here: http://carbonism.deviantart.com/

I love it but I think it should say

"in cryptography we trust"

I really like the version with the horizontal bars, because we can finally stop squatting another currency (Baht) symbol. And it's very nice.

@kiba: Skull88's logo does represent the cryptographic aspect of bitcoins better, but mine focuses more on the distribution of the block chain from the network of computers running the Bitcoin program. I think both aspects are equally essential to the Bitcoin currency, as encoding the data allows for anonymity and deters hackers, but distribution is what actually allows Bitcoins to flow and be used as currency. I could have copied his idea, but I wanted to try my own.

@epii:Err, I think I may have carelessly chose the title of the thread. When I say "New bitcoin logo", I meant "here's another design for a bitcoin". Sorry if it seemed like I was implying my design was better than anyone else's; that wasn't my intention. As Freemoney said, more is better. If you like another logo more, then by all means use that one. I just want to expand the choices people have. I don't think my design will replace the official logo, but just consider it free fanart for the community.  Wink

If there is a mod reading this, could you change the thread title to "Another Bitcoin design" please?

@Floww
Not to be the first wet blanket (because I think it's really great that people are submitting ideas, and I appreciate your skillful work) but I think it's a bit garish compared to the current logo.  I think it would look better as an actual coin than as a logo.  The current logo has the sort of SVG-chic simplicity that seems to be in vogue in the tech industry right now, especially among open-source projects.

Eh, we all have different tastes. I honestly kinda like its baroque quality. I don't think we should rush to replace our current logo with it, but it is nice. We'll see which one persists.

Wow, that is pretty good. I think it should definitely be adopted as the new logo.

Thank you. I've just been using Photoshop for a long time and have been messing around with it a lot. I've done a few freelancing stuff before, but it's mostly just a hobby.

Wow, that looks good. Impressive that you did that in just a day. Are you a graphic designer, or just good with Photoshop/Gimp?

That's pretty neat. Could you do it as a .PNG file with a transparent background?
